My first time at Epic today for lunch, and while it was less than epic, it was actually pretty good. Here are some thoughts: --This has the feel of a fast food place. You order at the front and they deliver the food to your table. --The quality of the food is a bit higher than fast food quality, and the service was good. --I ordered the classic burger + fries for about $14. The burger was good, more bun than burger, but was smash burger style. --I had regular fries, which were good, my buddy had the cajun fries, and they were good, spicy. Epic was good, worth a try, but I would not be in a hurry to go back. --

Barrington's burger scene just got a little more EPIC! Introducing, Epic Burger where they're cooking up burgers, chicken sandwiches, tenders, fries, and shakes. @theepicburger serves a variety of appetizing options, including vegan, halal, and gluten-free options! Ordered: * Classic Epic This is their classic burger and the absolute go-to if you're checking out this burger joint for the first time! It's the perfect amount of sauce and it reminded me of a smash style burger. The grilled onions remind me French onion soup! Full of flavor and juicy goodness!! * The Cowboy Burger Yee haw! This burger is vamped up with bacon and bbq sauce!! I actually loved the addition of the bbq sauce, it brought a sweetness to the burger that brought it to a whole other level! Yum!! * Honey Hot Chicken This was saucy, spicy, and sweet. That's a pretty killer combo if you ask me If you like a saucy chicken sandwich, this one if for you!! * Fully Loaded Fries If you like loaded fries, give these a try! The Monterey Jack cheese sauce combined with the Epic sauce, jalapeño slices, and grilled onions was all around awesome and super tasty. * Chocolate Shake Chocolatey deliciousness!! * Coffee Shake I love coffee in any dessert and this shake doesn't miss. This shake was an absolute delight to conclude our meal. What better ending to a burger than a shake? * Soft Drinks The best sidekick to help wash down these burgers (other than a shake of course) * Epic Chocolate Chip Cookies It's always such a nice touch to see freshly packaged cookies available. Who doesn't love a chocolate chip cookie?! The perfect hint of saltiness to bring out the sweet notes of the chocolate chips. Make sure to grab one to-go for later or save room for one after your meal! Epic Burger is a wonderful new addition to the Barrington area!! I am looking forward to returning and trying the rest of their menu items! They also have a pretty insane looking food challenge available if you want to prove how epic you really are! Congratulations on your grand opening in Barrington!!

Family was split in what to select for dinner, half of us wanted mecucan the other half chose Epic Burger the new recarnate of the former Meatheads. So that side chose the following: Honey Hot Chicken Sandwich with Epic Fries, the other was Farmhouse Burger with Parmesan Cheese Fries & Sweet Potato Fries to share. This was all to go. Service was spot on, Friendly and we were offered water while we waited. The venue was updated from when it was Meatheads. Inviting location. Well, The family enjoyed the delicious food. Looking forward to having more meals from Epic Burger, in the top of great meals. Mangia & Cheers!

Inside dining was neat and clean.

I stopped for lunch. Nice clean ambiance. Seating inside and 2 tables outside. They have a drive through. I ordered a cowboy burger and fries. I loved three things, 1. The burger was cooked medium like I requested and was a nice size. It was delivered hot. 2. The fries were excellent. They were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. They did not taste oily so the cooking oil was fresh. Excellent fries. 3. Most of all, it was served hot. I got in the car and drove home in about 12 minutes and it was STILL HOT. What a blessing. I am lucky to have fries be luke warm when they are delivered at most fast food places. So give them a try. I am going back soon.

Epic Burger is a fast casual burger restaurant chain in the Chicagoland area. They recently expanded through acquisition of meatheads. The Barrington location has a drive thru and indoor seating; there is no outdoor seating at this location. The entry/front counter area is a bit crowded and can be awkward when multiple people are ordering at the same time. You place your order at the front desk and, if eating in, your food will be brought to your table once it's ready. There are two large digital menu boards to help you make your choice. Food takes about 10-15 min to get to your table, depending on the number of customers. We had the Double Epic burger, the beyond burger and fries. The double epic was put together well and had cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickle, grilled onion, and Epic sauce on it. The flavor of the burger was bland but it was cooked well and had a good crisp. It was very messy and fell apart by the time I was done. I also got several pieces of gristle while eating it. With some better seasoning, this would have been closer to epic. Overall, enjoyable though. The beyond burger was similarly prepared but had raw onion rather than grilled. It would be better if they had the Impossible burger but overall tasted good. Fries stole the show and were hot, crispy and tasty. They are double fried which gets them extra crisp. The dining area was decorated nicely and was inviting. The huge picture of the burger on the wall was cool, but see if you notice what's wrong with the reflection of the egg yolk in the picture. The workers were friendly and accommodating. They have two unisex bathrooms that could use some remodeling. While they're not bad by any means, you can tell they are older and have not been updated from the former restaurant. They need a deep clean and some refreshing. Example...the caulking around the sink was dirty and not cleanly applied. Pricing is $30+ for two people. For the meal I mentioned, with only water to drink, it was just under $40 with tip. A piece of cheese for the burger was $1.29. Not the most expensive place around, but definitely not a steal. Overall, I recommend giving Epic Burger a try.

It's a no from me dawg. Didn't realize Meatheads was gone . This is the downtown Barrington location. My order was done exactly like I ordered it. No mistakes. Fries were crunchy on outside - soft on inside. Pipping hot. Good? But too salty. The burger was thin. No swiss cheese. Got pepper jack. Chicken fingers... no seasoning. Garlic Parm and Epic Sauce I won't be going back. Gonna moss Meatheads onion rings

She was friendly and great at recommending dishes. The busboy (we didn't catch his name) was positive and attentive. The staff really make the spot wonderful. It's modern inside, dark paint, and updated decor. However it feels friendly with the trendy atmosphere. The way these dishes look also match the ambiance at the restaurant. We ordered lots of dishes and they mostly looked great! The Salat Roasted Beet Salad is fruity, thanks to the berries and citrus, with a pistachio whip on the bottom of the dish. It's a heavier dish for a salad, but absolutely delicious and fruity. I also had the San Francisco Style Cioppino was good, but I wasn't expecting it to be like a zupa di pesci, while the flavor was good, I was having FOMO of others eating monkfish and the walleye. The Cioppino had a Louisiana flavored sauce. There was a variety of fish which were all cooked and not overdone. It's a massive dish! We finished off with English Sticky Toffee Pudding and Italian Citrus Mascarpone Cake. The cake was amazing! It wasn't too tart and light. The sticky pudding was also delicious and very sweet. It's a very beautiful restaurant, service is great, the plates look amazing and tastes great. It's definitely a spot to try again!

A place where everybody knows your name!…read more I hadn't been to the Blue Heron in several years after having been an "out of town" regular for some time. A family illness kept me away for several years. A couple days ago I was in Barrington for the first time in a long time. I walked into the Heron and was treated like the Prodigal Son. Addie, still running the place, tending bar and cooking amazing pub food. The same bunch of regulars that I'd said goodbye to years ago greeted me as though I'd just left the room a minute ago. All sitting 6 feet apart and watching whatever sports can be found on TV. But there's more to the story than that. You see that ill family member was my wife of 33 years, Mary Jo. I had returned to Barrington to lay her to rest in the town of her birth. Upon learning the reason for my return Addie organized a (very) impromptu wake. He whipped up a rum and lemon concoction based on her drink of choice: Bacardi Limon and Diet Coke. He dubbed it the "Mary Jo Shot". Toasts were given and eyes grew misty. The Blue Heron is more than a building where you can watch a game, have a beer and get a great pizza. It's a community. It's an institution. One for which I will always be great full. I'll see you all next time I pass through town.

We sat and one of the 10 or so tables and enjoyed a fantastic italian beef sandwich, great greek salad, and quite good thin crust pizza. Very reasonable prices. Nothing fancy.

First time at Rep's today and here are some of my thoughts:…read more --The place is clean, looks new, service was friendly. --You order at the front desk and they call your name when it's ready--very fast, but quiet during the weekday lunch hour. --I ordered the original smasher meal, includes waffle fries and a fountain drink, all for about $15. --You get a lot of fries--they were fresh, hot, and good, plenty of salt. --The smashburger was good. Highlight was the cheese and the pickles. If you like a good cheeseburger, you'll love Rep's smashburger! Overall, good. I've tasted better smashburgers and better buns. This feels like a fast food version of the smashburger.

Always excited to see a new non-chain restaurant! Rep's took over the old Arby's location, and…read moreretained their drive thru, which I love to see. Reps is a smash burger place first and foremost. The only other food they have is a fried chicken sandwich and fries. They additionally have drinks, shakes, and alcohol. Typically, in my experience, places with such small menus have very good food. They need to be confident in their limited offerings enough to run a business off of just those items. I ordered one of their burgers, and even though all the employees were new, they were fairly quick in getting the food out. There are some things about their menu that I don't like and find confusing. Everything on the menu appears to be priced well except the burgers. This is because they do not include any toppings other than cheese and a side of 3 optional small pickles to put on the burger. All other toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc) are SOLD SEPERATELY. If I am buying a $9 burger, and you think it is good without toppings, I understand not putting them on the burger, but if someone asks for it, it shouldn't be extra. Once we get past the menu and on to the food itself, I find that Rep's is very correct. The burger, nicely smashed and caramelized, complete with it's cheese and (optional) pickles, needs no other sauce or topping. It is very flavorful, and paired with a nice brioche bun. It really is delicious! The problem is, without any of the extra toppings, it is kind of a small burger for $9. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't need those extra toppings one bit. In fact, after eating it with just the (optional) pickles, I don't think I would want to add anything, but this does make it less filling. So although this won't be an economical place to go if you are super hungry, it is a great place to go for a delicious smash burger. I wish them the best and will be back to try their Big Bad Bird chicken sandwich which sounds amazing!
