Beautiful restaurant, great service and steaks. We had Patrick wait on us and he was delightful. The back room with NY city backdrop was very nice for our anniversary dinner. We have visited this restaurant twice. First time for my birthday and had an awesome experience. Second time was with friends....experience was not so good. We were seated in the very back section of the restaurant which was overly crowded, and the lighting was very dim. Once being seated, we awkwardly waited over 15 minutes for server to come to our table. We eventually had the manager summoned to our table to take our drink orders which he apologized immensely. It appears to me that this very popular restaurant does not have enough wait staff which in our case affected our experience. Other than that food is delicious which I will rate our visit very high and will definitely return, but do not want to be seated in the very back overcrowded area. read more

For the service and ambiance it was impeccable. The cocktails were great had the purple rain and blueberry lemon.For the food my Sea Bass was perfect, cabbage was great. My husband ordered ribeye and it was thin (my sea bass was thicker), it looked more like a sirloin. And it was tough. The food was excellent as usual. The restaurant is trendy and fun. The Service this time was terrible the waiter we had named Kevin was just hanging around the hostess booth. The appetizer and salad we ordered never came he forgot to put the order in. Our food came without the sauces we ordered. We were half done with our food before he even checked on us. It was the first time I didn't leave at least a 25-30% tip I actually think he was high he was terrible ruined the whole dining experience for me and I had invited a friend from out of town it was embarrassing. Had an early reservation, first time visit. Hostess and waitress very nice and helpful when reviewing menu options. Portions were large (epic) and very flavorful. Mood was great, could be business casual or date night! It was an early anniversary, did not tel them beforehand but we got a card to celebrate the occasion! Will definitely return. read more

I am COMPLETELY furious with this entire establishment. Who is the owner and who does the hiring? I just don't know where to start! The starter "House Salads". Ok. The "Low Country Pork Chop w/ loaded Mashed Potatoes" ...you can't be serious not salt or pepper on the chop just bread crumbs and the FATTIEST piece of pork I have ever cut into, it made me nauseous! Not from flavor bc there was NONE but from a mouth of fat! The loaded mashed potatoes were not creamy and flavor filled(I am finding a pattern here) the potatoes were stiff and greasy with butter and filled with scallions beyond imagination. The "Steak Fritters" just cooked beef ZERO flavor! Very hospital like flavor and the asparagus looked like old shoestrings! The "Louisiannne" are these meals cooked with people on special diets? No seasonings AT ALL!!!! The "Nor'Easter" BLAND!!!!!!! The "Shrimp Manzetti Pasta" not bad if you LOVE LOVE LOVE more mushrooms than pasta and shrimp. This is simply a disgrace! I don't need 3 strikes! The first time I visited we sat down and dined and had to actually leave a tip for food no person fully enjoyed or completed and this time yet another bday, and we thought maybe things changed from the reviews.. WORSE! I was once again embarrassed and hungry but mostly frustrated bc I had to then provide another meal for all of these people!! Is there a REAL CHEF w/school to prove it back there? Welcome to the neighborhood! We have been to Epic 5 times now. Each time was very enjoyable. We do believe management could initiate a more comprehensive training of servers. The attention to detail is inconsistent, indicating a void in the completion of all the important essentials in being a competent server. Some servers are really good. Some not. Case in point: last night my wife stopped our server to request a second cocktail. He said yes and just walked away without asking if anyone else needed anything. We all had empty glasses! read more

We have waited for Epic to open. We were excited to have a quality restaurant nearby. Our reservation didn't show, but when I pulled up the confirmation they seated us immediately. The Manager, Mark, told us there had been some issues with the online reservations. No problem, we understood, this is a new location and things sometimes go wrong. The food was fantastic, service was above average. The only issue was the bar was either overwhelmed or inexperienced as our drinks were wrong and sent back. Correct cocktails were delivered promptly. Our second visit was flawless! Service was over the top. Food presentation, taste and portion size were perfect. The Beef Wellington was excellent, and when we return in a few weeks, I will have it again. You can not go wrong at Epic! read more

Food was very good and ambiance is nice. Very high quality steak. However the servers tried to give our food to the wrong table 3 different times. They were all very disorganized and lost, many clearly had no idea what they were doing. The restaurant owner needs to address this issue and get a better system, so the servers can figure out how to find the correct tables. read more

This was our second visit to Epic. The atmosphere is great as is the food. The service, however, is slow at best. The restaurant has been open long enough for the staff to either learn how to wait tables or the experienced staff to learn how Epic wants things done. It was me and my husband's first visit today and our experience was exceptional! We were excited to finally have an upscale restaurant in our area. We definitely were not disappointed at all. Our waitress, Cydney, provided us with exceptional customer service. What we ordered was amazing! My husband said the braised short rib was tender and delicious. Monday nights are the only nights they offer Prime Rib so I had to make the pilgrimage to try this classic yesterday. And boy I'm glad I did! The Prime Rib was tender, juicy, delicious and I especially liked that it was not as salty as so many tend to be. I asked for a fatty cut medium that came out perfectly! Everything about Epic Chophouse is first rate. Servers are knowledgeable and personable. The seating is comfortable and reasonably private. Nice bar area. Have been 4 times, each time ordering something different. Every dish was cooked perfectly to temperature. The Beef Wellington was awesome. Fish dishes (lobster / shrimp) were great. Appetizers (meatballs, cured bacon, spicy shrimp) all great. Fine mixed drinks and wine list to boot. The manager, Mark, very accommodating to special requests. And for a top notch restaurant, the prices were - in my opinion - reasonable and below what I would perceive as their competition (Ruth's Chris, 1618, B Christopher's, etc). We have lived in Greensboro for over 30 years and have been patrons of every restaurant that has come and gone. There haven't been many new restaurants that have opened since the pandemic so we were eagerly waiting the opening of Epic and we finally had a chance to check it out. Let me say that we came with the pre expectation that we wanted this restaurant to be successful and we've read the reviews of its other locations in advance. The ambience was chic and inviting and the staff were friendly and professional. Our server was obviously new but friendly and attentive. We thought the menu was interesting and diverse with appealing appetizers, salads main courses. We also thought the drink menu and wine list were creative and appropriate. Our constructive criticism should be taken as such. If you're competing with the Ruth Chris's , Flemings and Del Frisco's then the quality of the steaks need to be commensurate. The steak, while appropriately done to order were thin and not worth the price. It reminded us of Longhorn. The potatoes were cold when they were brought to the table. Overall this was a good addition to Greensboro but we rated it a 7/10. They need to up their game if they want to compete with the established high end steak restaurants in town. read more

Opening day was impressive. Artisan bread selection arrived hot and crispy, Shanghai shrimp plate was very large, tender, and tasty.. Salmon was cooked to perfection, 12 ounce fillet was very large medium and had a nice tasty crust on the outside and not charred. Mushroom were very flavorful and juicy. Last the cheesecake is about a mile high plenty for two people . Service was impeccable with courses arriving just in time. The atmosphere was nice with the appropriate noise level to where you can hear your party without problem Restaurant was well ventilated. Very disappointing. I ordered the short ribs which were good but not raving. I also ordered the lobster bisque which I returned. It was very salty and had no taste. The waitress said she would speak to the manager and only ended up not charge me. No comment or visit from the manager. We had reservations for 4:15 but didn't get our meal until after 5:30! I asked for a straw that I ended up getting from another server and never got the cocktail I ordered. A friend ordered a medium ribeye that was so rare it was scary! We saw the manager on the floor the entire time but he did not come to rhe table at all. That told me a lot of the customer service there. The waitress knew it was out first time there...because she asked us and gave us this story of their great steaks! but it My girls night out will definitely not happen there! Two ladies recommended no way!! There was 6 of us and half were disappointed and the other 3 were not impressed. If management or even the waitress showed any concern I might have given a 3 or 4 but all 6 of us work in customer service and we'll spend our money elsewhere!!! read more

Wait staff is very young and inexperienced and they don't have enough servers. Got 10 piece bread appetizer and it came with 1/2 tablespoon of butter. Hubby and I have driven past the "Coming Soon" sign for Epic for a while and were super excited to try it out. I scheduled a reservation for 8 pm on a Saturday which was confirmed the day before, so we were looking forward to a great date night. We also bought tickets for a movie after dinner at the new Golden Gate cinema, so it was a night of firsts! Well, that excitement dwindled quickly upon our arrival. It was certainly busy, so I was glad that we made a reservation. When we checked in, the host said it would just be a couple of minutes and invited us to sit in the bar area. Ok, no prob...they probably just need to clean off a couple of tables. Well, that wasn't the case. After sitting for quite some time, we noticed that several other parties were waiting for tables that also made reservations. I noticed that they did not have a waiting system, where they could let you know the approximate time of the wait. The host just kept saying things like "A couple of minutes" or "The tables are just being cleaned". After a 25-minute wait, we decided to just try some cocktails and leave. Welp, the waitress let us know that it would be a 20-minute wait for a drink..Ugh! So, by that time we just left. The ambiance is lovely and the food looked yummy...on other people's tables. A shame we couldn't partake. I won't give this place 1 star because the staff were friendly and were trying their best though they were clearly overwhelmed. I think they need to beef up their reservation and waiting system. Perhaps institute a 2-hour time limit during their busy times. We are still interested in going back to try them out again but we'll wait until the hubbub dies down in like 6 months or so. read more
