I ordered a drink and the blueberry fried chicken sandwich to go. The drink was fine, and the sandwich had a great piece of chicken with a HEAPING side of tots, but those are sadly the only positives to note. I was a bit disappointed with my meal overall. I ordered the sandwich because it had blueberry COMPOTE. (I am wary of ALL berries and fresh produce at this time due to the cyclospora outbreak, but I am perfectly fine to eat compotes and sauces that are cooked). I heard the salesperson ask the cooking staff if they still had compote and they replied in the affirmative. At no point between placing my order and waiting was I told otherwise, or notified that they had run out, but when I got home and opened my sandwich it was genuinely just blueberries on the piece of chicken. It did have melted cheese and (some) aioli, and I asked for no jalapenos/they listened, but the other toppings didn't have much of a taste over the chicken. I was expecting a unique sandwich featuring a cooked through blueberry sauce and received a fraction of what I paid for, especially because, even after dumping the blueberries out of my sandwich, I was too nervous to eat anything they might have touched, and I wasn't able to finish. (While it may be irrational behavior, which I know and am trying to curtail, it still shouldn't have been a thing at all. As someone with food issues, if I had known they were out of the compote I would have changed my order to something I felt comfortable eating--instead I paid $30 for a chicken sandwich I couldn't finish because they essentially contaminated it. Also, cooked blueberry compote tastes different from fresh blueberries, on top of having a completely different texture, so I didn't even get what I paid for in that regard). I would eat here again, but would likely not order to go in case there was another issue. *EDITED REVIEW because I genuinely appreciate the owner's sincerity and congeniality upon receiving my review. I understand that sometimes, things can go awry, and I look forward to trying out the rest of their menu as I continue to visit TH.

The bread was good. -look at pix, last sandwich got a perfect rating from the kid. Said sausage, eggs and bread were wonderful. -Verdict: cool place and vibe. Staff were cool. We came for a family member's 70th birthday with family visiting from out of town, and The Branch definitely made us look good for picking the restaurant! Everyone was so impressed. Every single dish was incredible. The plates looked like works of art, but somehow tasted even better. You can tell so much thought and heart goes into planning the menu and preparing every dish. Every bite was so flavorful and impressive, and the chef absolutely blew us away. We genuinely felt so special and lucky to be there. Twain Harte Creamery is located in downtown Twain Harte across from The Rock. Parking is usually street unless you get lucky and are able to park in front of a business. The inside is small, but homey. It could also use a deep clean, but the really fun is outside though. They have a nice patio area with a play area and jump house for the kids. You must buy something at the Creamery in order to partake in the fun though. We got in line and it seemed to more a bit slow -- we finally got to the register and ordered one Horchata Milkshake. Once we paid, the young kid at the register said it would be a little while before our order came out. As expected, it did take a while for our Milkshake to come and it was not worth the wait. Overall, I know I am a city girl and used to the more fast paced life so I will give them a little grace, plus their staff were friendly and doing their best. Rating is 3.5 stars! I'm sure we'll be back next time we are in Twain Harte!

The real trouble started with the server who is also the owner. We placed our orders, I ordered a bbq burger, my husband ordered the V burger and my daughter ordered the v sliders. We waited an hour and a half with no updates on why our food was taking so long. It came out- with the server/owner woman (I think she had a piercing in mouth in front of her teeth- to explain what she looked like incase you're there). My husband was NOT served the dinner he ordered but instead the v sliders. It looked like a frozen chicken nugget was placed in the "chicken burger", a pulled pork (which I would be wary of- that is the only one that had too much sauce so you couldn't see if it was fully cooked). We pointed out immediately that was not what he ordered and she said oh we can make the other one if you want. Having already waited an hour and a half we said no, as we did not want to wait a minute longer. She said oh okay good, let me know if you need anything. Fast forward, we finished our very low quality meal (not only was it bad tasting/bad quality, but it was also overpriced. I want to say those 3 tiny sliders were $18 per plate). We paid- and tipped 20% to the server who we now know was the owner. When looking at the bill- she charged us full price for everything and there was never another mention of the mistake with bringing out the wrong food order. We paid and left. We as a family had all eaten the same food all day UP UNTIL THAT MEAL. My husband and daughter both got food poisoning, and I did not. My daughter was projectile vomiting from around 9PM-3 in the morning with her stomach in severe pain. I called today and calmly spoke to the owner, the minute she answered the phone, she seemed ready to argue. I got interrupted 4 times within the first 3 minutes of the call. I stated what I stated above, during the interruptions, she proceeded to say I will not get any type of accommodation because there are no other people that "called to complain" she used excuses like it was a busy night, said she'll check the kitchen etc. I stated, It does sound like those are things you need to take care of on the back end that don't have anything to do with me and this moment. I would like a refund. She said no and that there's no proof that that is what got us sick. I let her know I am appalled at the way she is interrupting me, speaking to me and handling this. I let her know I called to see how they can accommodate given the severity of this, and since it does not seem like she is going to do what's right I will have to write on Yelp to warn other people, she started raising her voice and telling me she won't stand for me "threatening her and her business". I let her know, there is no threat. I will simply state the facts of what transpired and how she is handling the situation, and I'll list her words so patrons can make their own decisions about visiting her establishment. Our food did not come out at the 35 minute mark, we actually ended up waiting 51 minutes. Waiting almost an hour for your meal is wild -- our waitress did check on us a couple of times, but I just cannot get past the wait - 35 minutes turning into 51 is a long time to wait. Now if the food had been worth it, I probably would have been fine with the wait, but it unfortunately it was not. The chicken on my salad was iceberg cold - it was also in larger chunks so a few pieces were tough to chew and overcooked. Overall, staff were very nice, but based off the wait and food - I would not want to come back. Maybe I ordered the wrong item, but after waiting almost an hour, I can't see myself coming back.

If I could give 0 stars I would I'm posting this at 1 AM after tired from driving 4 hours after work to get to Twain's Harte and being up all night with food poisoning. We came here as it was recommended by a local family member as a good place to eat. I am in no way picky but I could not even eat my dinner. I started to eat the chicken picatta and even forced my way through some of it because I was starving but when the chicken got slimier I stopped. I made my husband take a bit and he was disgusted. He new from my first bite something was off by my face but I didn't want to be rude. Left my whole plate with mashed potato's and veggies. Unfortunately those few bites left me so sick with a case of food poisoning I've never even expected I am shocked honestly. I have never even wrote a bad review in my life. Drove all this way for my brothers baby shower tomorrow that I do not even know if I will make. I am going to follow up with a call in the morning just to ensure this doesn't happen to someone else tomorrow. To be honest if someone left multiple plates full of food and said no to boxes - I would ask them if there was something wrong with their food. The crazy thing is on top of all this I walked my son out to the car to change his diaper because there was no changing table in the bathroom and when I came back in my husband said they brought his drink out and it had a fly in it. My husband and I went there tonight. We have been once before with a good experience but after tonight we will no go back. After waiting an hour for our dinner, a burger and a steak our waitress came out and told us my husbands steak had gone to another customer and it would be another half hour, but mine was ready. We chose to leave but asked to speak with the manager. We were told that the manager was cooking, he never came to speak with us. We paid for our appetizer and drinks although I thought they should have been comped. In fact when i said I thought that we should not have to pay for them an employee came around to inform us that "California Law does not ALLOW them to give free drinks". Nice customer service, you are ALLOWED to comp customers when your food or service fails the customer. I have worked in this industry and I can tell you that had that person worked for me she would have been fired on the spot, as well as the manager for not taking care of the customers and the business that pays his wages. We arrived at the restaurant exactly at 7:00 PM. The place was not busy at all, yet the food didn't start arriving until 9:00 PM. The first course was just a poorly prepared and unappetizing salad. The main course didn't reach our table until around 9:15 PM. This level of disorganization is completely unacceptable. We had our 2.5-year-old daughter with us, and as any parent knows, it's incredibly difficult to keep a young child seated, hungry, and waiting for that long. This experience was nothing short of a disaster. I will never return to this place and will actively discourage others from coming. It's shocking that an establishment that wastes people's time and money like this is even operating. I truly hope the money earned from this kind of service brings no good to its owner. I have to say this is the best place in the county, the servers are friendly and personable... The food is great especially paired with the local wine selection! My mouth is watering for another visit to eat the sausage and fennel orchiette (explained to mean little ear shaped pasta by our sweet server) as well as the tender and delectable Prime Rib my husband ordered!
