Don't come with a party of people! They refuse to split a check if people are at the same table. They refuse to take more than 1/2 cards to pay, leaving one person to have to pay for everyone at the table, then have to figure it out after. It's not even hard for the server to do on their side, they're just too lazy and stupid. On top of that, they charged an extra 22% because we had more than 6 people. Food: a few overpriced options...but the kids meals were absolutely terrible! It was supposed to be a Junior Cheeseburger, the it came a tiny blackened half patty on a regular sized bun. Seriously, it was a half patty. Service: not good. They brought one bread basket with ~5 small pieces for a table of 12. We had to ask for more...several times. They brought the food out in slow shifts, leaving everyone with warm food to wait until it was cold to eat together. Overall, I would never eat here again or recommend it to anyone. read more

So we had a reservation, got seated somewhat timely and sat for 15-20 minutes before anyone even came to take our order. Then we waited another 45 minutes for our entrees and nothing came after our soup/salad course. Finally, we just asked for our our check because we were tired of waiting for our dinner. I enjoying supporting local business in our area. The last time we visited Eproson House I was a bit disappointed when our bill came. I have quite a few food allergies and I've always been able to have the kitchens at our local restaurants be flexible in catering to my dietary needs. I asked if I could order a Cobb Salad and I just wanted a side of beets added to it with my dressing on the side. The salad was ok, but when the bill came, I was charged over $30 for my salad! The Cobb Salad itself is no more than $15 I believe. I only had like 5 slices of beets added to it. We were in shock. The service in the bar area was not great and that is to be expected when ordering food in a bar on a busy night. We did not bother disputing it since they were super busy. My husband works at a local restaurant in town so we are very familiar with how things operate. We enjoyed a dinner here in the midst of COVID-19....nice waitresses and waiters, very clean and adequate safety we felt so happy and calm to be dining outside in fresh air of beautiful TWain Harte....we split a plate of Chicken Picatta and it was so perfectly seasoned and breaded, pairs nicely with local Zin to drink....oh and the bread they bring you first with the oil/ vinegar mix is so delicious , we asked for seconds! This will be one of the hardest reviews yet. Why? Because the food was actually good. See photos. Now, for what happened that night: Buckle Up, Yelp fam! We got there at 5:15 pm on a Saturday night, party of 5, including two minors. The hostess told us a 20-30 minute wait so of course we said okay. Do you know when we were seated?? A solid 2 hours later. Those coming in after us were seated before us, one tall drunk guy tipped the hostess $20 for a seat, another party of five adults were offered a table in the bar area, old man in the MAGA hat walked back and forth from the bar and seated dining, giving us side eye (the ONLY people of color in the entire restaurant). My kids finally just sat on the floor, exhausted and hungry after an entire day at the snow. There were other guests who came up to us telling us how badly they felt for us. That should give you a clue what a side show we had become. So why did we stay? Have you ever watched a movie that was bad, but you're already halfway invested and you just hope the nightmare will be over soon? Yea, that's why. That and limited options. Now for the best part. The manager walking back and forth ignoring us...like I don't see you. I finally stopped him and asked him when we'd be seated. For an hour we were told "the only available table will be ready any minute- they're signing the check now. I don't know who was more toasted. The manager or the MAGA grandpa. Once we were finally seated. Surprise!! Plenty of seating. I don't know...the shear incompetence of the management was just disheartening. We have lived in Twain Harte since 1982, and once every few years we decide to give Eproson House a chance. We are ALWAYS disappointed and last night was no different. Our group of 8 sat outside with tables that slanted downhill, almost 2 inches off kilter. Salads were overdressed. Meat arrived well done even when ordered as rare. The lobster bisque tasted like tomato soup gone bad, and mussels were served with tomatoes in the broth! Bread on the table was stale and dry, and requests for help, while acknowledged, were slow to materialize. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.....ANYWHERE else. read more

I was really torn between a 2 or 3 star on this review. I would say the food was a 3 but the service or lack of really brought it down to a 2. It was 10:00 on a Sunday morning and it was not crowded considering it was outdoor seating only. The table still had coffee stains on it which told me it had not been wiped. Not cool during Covid. When the waitress brought our food, she never asked if we needed anything else and walked away before we could ask for ketchup, salt and pepper, refills on our drinks....we figured she'd be back in a few minutes but nope. My husband had to get up and go inside to ask for these things as there was not one server out there. Another server brought the stuff over, ok great. Then my husband realized she never brought his toast.... she never came back by till we were almost done with our meal. She then apologized and offered to bring the toast but my husband politely declined since his meal was just about done and asked if it could be deducted from the bill. The bill comes and it's not deducted so we politely asked if it could be and she said no, it was not possible because the toast is part of the whole meal and she can't do that. Whaaaat??? Two other side notes: 1. A strong breeze kicked up and knocked over an umbrella behind me. Missed me by one inch, scary. Not one employee was outside, not one. A kind person nearby ran over and picked it up and moved it. 2. As we were leaving, we heard another customer complaining to someone else.... "We haven't seen our waitress since we got our food 45 minutes ago!" She was pretty mad. Bottom line is food is ok but service sucks. read more

We haven't been to Eprosons for some time now because the quality of the food was not what it was before Covid-19. They had lost some key personnel. Anyway we were seated at a tiny table very close to the heavy traffic kitchen with the people at the next table two feet from us side by side. There were three tiny tables separated by about two feet each. When we asked the hostess who was seating us for a small table near a window we were told no with a take it or leave it attitude. We went at opening time and we're the third of five couples to be seated. There were probably 20 tables available. They obviously want to fill the worst tables first but these tiny tables were far too close for this stage in the Covid-19 issue. Eprosons won't take reservations for anything smaller than a party of eight. The food was alright at best. Our server did well and so that was the only good part of the experience. I don't think that we will be trying Eprosons again for a long time. They obviously don't need our business and we don't need to be paying high prices for their attitude. read more

I am giving 5 stars for the warm down home reception and service my husband and I received tonight. (We also met the people sitting near us and they are returning locals who also love the restaurant.) We had outstanding service from Rachel, food was hot and quickly served. Were we in a hurry? No! And we were not rushed to leave our table. Food was delicious, homemade salad dressing, delicious pastas, excellent chocolate berry cake and outstanding don julio margaritas. TL, DR - good food, very uneven service, so be ready to either enjoy a good experience, or possibly be treated rudely if there is miscommunication. Explanation-We came in early Friday night, with a reservation and were seated right away. The wait staff were very friendly, and on the younger side, well meaning but not very polished. Service was very attentive, food came out promptly and was delicious. We had the French onion soup, chowder, jalapeño poppers, the duck in berry sauce, and the scallops risotto. Everything we ordered was really yummy; I had asked for the duck rare, and they did it perfectly. The berry sauce was a very nice balance of tart and sweet. However, we had asked for a substitution, and were not informed of a $7 upcharge until we got the bill So, a great experience right up to the end, when we witnessed a scene involving a couple who asked to be seated in one area, then were moved to a different one, after being served their meal. The staff literally picked up their food and moved it, without telling the customers what was going on. My family and I were in town this weekend and stopped here on our last day for dinner. We were seated fairly quickly, which we enjoyed as we had a larger party. There weren't many people here, but the service was definitely slow. When we asked the hostess what the soups of the day was, she could only recall one soup and said "I'm sorry" as she was clearly trying to think of the other. She apologized and then brought our appetizers. The calamari was great! We tried the Jalapeño Poppers (caution they had the seeds in still) and Garlic Fries as well. Our appetizer plates stayed on the table for the remainder of our meal, a waitress who was not our own eventually took the plates once we had them stacked high at the end of the table, which we felt that they should've been taken as soon as they were done. Throughout the meal our waitress kept saying "I'm sorry" when she didn't know something that we had asked, our meals took awhile to come out and honestly were a bit disappointing, I can only speak for myself and my husbands meals. My husbands salmon was oddly boiled and charred at the same time, which made it extremely dry and had no pink to it, and the risotto it sat on was bland. My burger was not cooked how I had asked it to be, was very dry and missing some of the ingredients the menu had said it came with. We were here for a couple of hours, from the outdated decorations, the pricey meals, and the staff not being able to answer questions I would say the best part about our visit would be the calamari and the hometown feel. I ordered two eggs, country patatos, and biscuit gravy with a Blue moon. The beer was great, the food was very bland no salt or pepper.
