Complementary bread with whipped butter and oil and vinegar

Drinks - 5 of 5, Food - 1.5 of 5, Bread 5 of 5 We were excited to try The Eproson House for the first time, but unfortunately the experience fell short of expectations. We ordered the 10oz Flank steak, and it took quite a long time to come out. When it finally arrived, it was cold. After sending it back, the replacement still came out only lukewarm. The steak itself lacked seasoning or flavor, and the sides that came with it weren't very enjoyable either. We ended up relying on A1 sauce just to make it decent. On the positive side, the bread with oil and vinegar was outstanding, and the drinks were excellent -- definitely the highlight of the evening. Our waitress was kind and tried to make up for the experience by not charging us for the drinks, which we really appreciated. That gesture stood out even though the food itself was disappointing. Unfortunately, overall service seemed overwhelmed for a Thursday night; we even overheard other diners commenting on how long it was taking to get their food. While we appreciated the great drinks and thoughtful service from our waitress, the main dishes left us underwhelmed, and we're not sure we'd return anytime soon.

The Chicken Cobb Salad was just okay. The portion size was decent, and the ingredients seemed fresh, but nothing really stood out. The chicken was a bit dry, and the overall flavor felt a little flat, even with the dressing. It wasn't bad, just not as tasty as I had hoped. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to order it again, but it'll do if you're craving a salad. We sat outside (by choice), which was nice at first, but the experience was disrupted by loud cars passing by frequently. It made it a bit hard to relax or hold a conversation. I would like to point out our server Alicia was very attentive and super nice!

Our family of six enjoyed a truly exceptional dinner experience at the Eproson House last night. The outside seating was just perfect. Every meal ordered was outstanding, and the service, from the moment we arrived to checking out, was impeccable. We will definitely return and encourage others to try it out!

The service levels are inconsistent. We were there for dinner and it took 30 minutes to be greeted by our harried server. The soup was like wallpaper paste and inedible. The main courses were decent and I've always liked the cozy atmosphere and history behind the place. I'd stick to the bar for some snacks and drinks here.

Chicken Parm. Very flavorful, but would have loved more chicken!

Food? Delicious a bit soupy for the pricing but 7/10 delicious. This is the second occasion I have been and the environment is fairly casual/relaxed which is nice so I will give them that. The service? In my brother in laws words who owns several bars around the Bay Area, "horrendous" last time I was there my steak was medium well to well and I asked for it medium however they disagreed which I thought that was odd because I've had lots of medium filet mignons, and they were not very nice about my polite feedback. This recent occasion I don't think we were greeted after being seated when we had reservations and there was for 20 minutes for drinks and we were ready by the time that happened. Only then did I get one refill. So if they were to work on the consideration of their customers this could be a WONDERFUL restaurant! Plus I have not been but I do hear the bar is awesome. Hoping for the best for this restaurant they are very promising.

We really enjoyed the prime rib steak; was juicy, perfectly grilled and tasty. Side dishes with the rice, steamed veggies done right. Ordered calamari strip for extra $ . The clams was also nice & came with bread. Loved the huckleberry ice cream! The staff always checked on us and very accommodating . Love the historical building and bar with live band ( Saturday Night ) was fun to watch post-dinner.

Potato skins served with ranch and sour cream.

what a creative menu!…read more I was hungry for a philly cheese, and the "philly cheese please" hit the spot. Soft tender slices of ribeye, paired with grilled onions, grilled red and green bell peppers and a helping of black pepper was great. No sauce to make it messy and paired with garlic truffle fried was fantastic. Since these were shoe string cut, they were crispy and very crunchy. My SO ordred the fondue burger, and this was delicious as well. Warning the hot cheese will burn you, and hot cheese oil. But worth the burn as this smother cheese on a ciabatta bun was great. This was paired with sweet potato fries. These thick cut sweet potatoe fries are only sprinkled with sea salt, they retained the soft and moist texture just prefect. One order of a passion fruit lemonade, was a great balance of sweet and tart, and came in a very large glass. Pleanty of ice to keep it chill and slowly sip through out the meal. The meal a tad heavier than I thought, I finished my philly cheese, but not the fries (a first) The room is very high ceiling and all these great art works, posters and items on all the walls. TV screen with sports and sounds like sattelite radio running above. Service was very prompt and friendly. They explained the menu and clarified on some points. The specials sounds great, but we opted for a lighter dinner and went for sandwiches and burgers.

We decided to sit outside on the patio area which was nice, but also very loud. They have plenty of tables inside, a smaller patio area plus the larger one with TVs and games for kids - so lots of seating! When we were seated, our waitress said it would be about 35 minutes before food would arrive. We decided to stay since we were not in a rush to get anywhere. We ordered drinks that took a bit to come out and for food, I ordered the Cranberry Gorgonzola Salad, my friends ordered the Chicken Wings and Fish and Chips. Our food did not come out at the 35 minute mark, we actually ended up waiting 51 minutes. Waiting almost an hour for your meal is wild -- our waitress did check on us a couple of times, but I just cannot get past the wait - 35 minutes turning into 51 is a long time to wait. Now if the food had been worth it, I probably would have been fine with the wait, but it unfortunately it was not. The chicken on my salad was iceberg cold - it was also in larger chunks so a few pieces were tough to chew and overcooked. Overall, staff were very nice, but based off the wait and food - I would not want to come back. Maybe I ordered the wrong item, but after waiting almost an hour, I can't see myself coming back.

One thing that puzzled us a tiny bit was the "specials" appeared to be identical to menu options, but no harm, no foul. The service was very friendly, knowledgable and very well executed. We had Chicken Alfredo with Feta, and the Rib Eye Steak. Both were sensational (the chicken benefitted from a squeeze of lemon). The portions were large, and the preparation was perfect. The steak was exactly as ordered, and was the best steak we've had in some time. The chicken was cooked well and the pasta was perfect. The vegetables were great, seasoned and steamed, retaining a bit of crunch. Desert was an event! We had the cheesecake, which was very good, and the chocolate mocha ice cream pie. Oh, my goodness! That pie! It was at least 5" high, and covered a desert plate edge to edge, and it was a coffee and chocolate fantasy with a toffee crust! Out of this world! Simply epic. But when I went with my mom and decided to go for dinner it was a wonderful experience!! The restaurant is a little on the older side and they have really revamped it and turned it into a delicious one!!! We started off with their pot of melted cheese, French bread, and butter yum! The French bread was warm soft and easy to pull apart. We then got the "all day special" where you get to pick a salad or soup, a plate of entrees and a side. My mom LOVES this deal with their salmon and I got the same thing only with italian dressing on my salad. Perhaps next time I will get the bleu cheese like my mom did. Unfortunately they do baked potatoes but not mashed potatoes so I went with the fries. They were a bit thick with ranch. But to my surprise the SALMON! Was not as thin as it was last time it was a wonderful portion, cooked to perfection, and sooooo tasty!!! Now I understand why my mom loves going here often! As for the staff it was wonderful I didn't get her name but our server was an absolute sweetheart she was also ON it! All while having the entire section so we tipped her well! She also knew the menu like the back of her hand which was nice when I hadn't been in so long and had questions about the sides, sauces, etc. lol The vibe is average. It was a regular week day dinner hour and decently packed! That's always good! People working were all very polite and I like how they changed the look of the restaurant by taking down some of the cheesy decorations and leaving up more trendy ones it looks very nice!!! 5 stars well deserved! In the search for something new, don't overlook the local small business restaurants that have lasted over the many years. Gus's steakhouse is one of those businesses. It's family owned for over 45 years, two generations. That's awesome! As a complimentary starter, they provide cheese fondue, sliced bread, and whipped butter. Fondue, don't mind if I do. Rich, smooth, creamy cheese. Bubbling warm over a little steno flame. Lactose intolerant me couldn't resist and tried some. Mmmm. Then they had an all day special two entrees for $32.95. The choices were plentiful. Choose from the likes of sirloin, cheeseburger, salmon, shrimp, chicken Alfredo, chicken parm, chicken piccata... that's just to name a few. The entrees came with side of veggies, baked potato, and soup or salad. Or choose from the regular menu. Plus on Fridays and Saturdays , they offer prime rib. Well I have to come back to try that. We choose the cheeseburger and sirloin. I ordered the sirloin at medium rare. It came out just like I ordered, medium rare. Tender cut. Flavorful. I liked it! Hubs enjoyed his cheeseburger. I took a bite. Mmm. The waitress was super fun and engaging. She chatted about the place and family as we told her it was our first time. We met Gus (the owner) and his son Dino. Both very cool. The waitress was top notch. Excellent customer service. Plus she was stealthy, every time I looked at my iced tea , it was always full. I swear I was drinking it. It's an old school steakhouse. Big upholstered booths that I sink into when I sit down. Not a bad thing. The vibe is casual, low key, and welcoming. Family kiddo friendly. They even have a separate room with a full bar, not open to the kiddos.
