Just arrived in Philadelphia and l didn't want to go anywhere to find food in the rain. Ordered this on Postmates. Delivery didn't take too long. Always a fan of fried tofu so I had to try it. It's fine, unfortunately it wasn't crunchy since it was delivery, but still good. The chive cake is very flavorful! But the star of this show are the crispy wings! 10/10! Crispy, flavorful, delicious. Definitely want to stop by and eat in restaurant to try other things.

This place was great! Called very late because I wanted to place an order and they were very accommodating, which was really nice of them. When I went to pick up my order, I was very surprised by how cute and nicely decorated the inside was. I would love to come back to actually be seated next time because the ambience was great! I was greeted with welcoming service and the order was ready pretty fast. The food was also really good. I recommend the drunken noodles, it was packed with flavor and had a little bit of a kick to it with nicely cooked vegetables. I also got the pads see you, which I wasn't the biggest fan of. I was expecting a little bit more flavor and for the vegetables to be cooked a little bit more but overall, I can't complain because everything else was great.

Erawan is one of Philadelphia first Thai restaurants. They recently revamped their menu and the food is excellent. We think they have the best crab Rangoons. It's byob, and serve some unique dishes like tofu ravioli served with Thai curry sauce. The Khao Soi is amazing a little sweeter. They have a cute small indoor space, and service is on point!

Wanted to try out the Massuman curry at this Thai restaurant for a while. The place was pretty empty and the only people to walk in the door were DoorDash workers until when we ended the meal and finally another pair of restaurant goers came in. The decorations inside are pretty impressive. I really liked their red painted walls. The waitress didn't seem on top of her tables. Eventually we got the menu, water, and dishwear. We ordered the Massuman curry. I really liked how the chicken was super shredded. The roti was super crispy and tasted so good with the Massuman. The Massuman was pretty sweet tasting and had a good amount of paste/coconut milk.

Restaurant was empty when we walked in. There decorations were eye-catching and fit their restaurant well. Informed staff their website was down. They seated us quickly and served us water. We ordered a roti massaman curry, which they delivered quickly. The curry was sweet and savory but lacking vegetables like carrots. The roti was cut in small mouth size pieces, making it both convenient and delicious. Overall, would have been average experience except the cost was 40% higher than expected. At another restaurant less than a minute away, they serve much larger (and tastier) portions for slightly more. This brought ratings further down.

I tried the pad thai - unfortunately it was bland and pricey for what it was. There were like 3-4 pieces of beef BUT the server was really nice. They did automatically include a 18% tip (on accident) but that made the process of tipping easier for me in a way.

After trying out this spot based on a Thai transplant's recommendation, I must say that Erawan is one of the best Thai restaurants in Philly. Our table ordered a few menu items and we were delighted by all the dishes. I was impressed that they offer chives cake as an appetizer here, since it's a street food that isn't that easy to find outside of Thailand. If you're a fan of fried chicken like me, you'll be thrilled to hear that they also offer Hat Yai chicken (gai tod hat yai). For the avid fans of seafood, their stir fried shrimps with curry sauce (goong pad pong karee) is also a dish that's highly recommendable. Our group couldn't stop eating even after we were full since we were THAT hooked. Erawan's price point may be a bit high, but their satisfyingly delicious food makes it worth it. Ambience here is intimately cozy with a service that's friendly and efficient.

I thought the food was pretty good, but genuinely nothing special. I was disappointed by the price/value of my meal to be honest. I have yet to find amazing Thai food in center city, and this was just "good"/average. I got the pad see ew (and added shrimp for an additional fee).

    Tom Yum Fried Rice
    Olivia Q.

Very cozy Thai restaurant. The food was great and appreciated the server being very attentive. My sister got the Tom yum soup which was phenomenal along with the pad ka pow. I got the Tom yum fried rice with salmon in which the salmon was so crispy and tasty. The pricing is high but it is to be expected given the location of the restaurant. I would definitely return here!

Came here with a party of 11. Service was great. The food was also very good. I ordered the pad see ew with chicken and it was very spicy, which I enjoyed. Would come back here again!

Poor quality food. I've ordered take out from this restaurant many times but recently the quality has gone way down. The red curry, drunken noodle, and pad ka pow used to all be really good. However that was all different this most recent time. We ordered three simple dishes: pad Thai, pad ka pow, and basil fried rice. The restaurant/chef could not have messed it up more. The basil fried rice had no basil in it and the rice tasted like it was days old. The pad ka pow skimped on the vegetables and was insufficient quantity. The pad Thai (see photo) was more of a stale cake with all the noodles all stuck together and overcooked. It totally disappointed and was not fresh. All that being said this restaurant charges a high price for all these poor quality dishes. This is not the way food was in Thailand. The quality of the food by the chef has gone way down and should be replaced! Save your money and go elsewhere!

    Exotic Pork & Pad Thai
    Winnie M.

Good Thai place with low-light ambiance. We ordered Thai tea, spring rolls, Pad Thai, and exotic pork. It was good/ decent enough to fill us up. Personally, I cannot really eat spicy food so I am giving this a 4*s because the server was lovely and the place seemed clean and had a relaxing vibe.

Duck curry too sweet, too mild. Chicken curry too hot to eat. The Thai iced tea was fine.

The portions were on the smaller side, especially considering the price, so it didn't feel like the best value for the cost. That said, the quality of the food and the ambiance made it an enjoyable experience. Overall, I'd recommend Kalaya if you're looking for creative, authentic Thai cuisine and a great atmosphere--just be prepared for smaller portions and higher prices. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes.

From the food to the service, every part of the experience felt thoughtful, intentional, and genuinely memorable. It's the kind of restaurant that reminds you why dining out can be so special. The unique design creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and enjoy every course rather than rush through the meal. The service deserves every bit of a 10/10. All of the servers were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu. Since several dishes and ingredients were unfamiliar to us, they took the time to explain each one, answer our questions, and offer recommendations without making us feel rushed. That guidance gave us the confidence to step outside of our comfort zone, and every recommendation paid off. We ordered the Mawn Noodle Soup, Grilled Saht Koh, Mahope Samut, Steak and Prohok, Thai Crab Fried Rice, and ended the evening with the Funnel Cake. Every dish was beautifully plated and packed with bold, balanced flavors. The Steak and Prohok was refreshing and full of flavor in every bite. The Grilled Saht Koh had a perfect char and was cooked beautifully. The Mahope Samut was exceptional, with tender, perfectly seared scallops. Both this and the Saht Koh were perfect starters. The Mawn Noodle Soup was incredibly comforting with layers of flavor and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The Thai Crab Fried Rice was another standout--light, fragrant, and loaded with fresh crab, making it much more than just a side dish. And somehow, after such an incredible meal, the Funnel Cake still managed to steal the show. It was the perfect ending: crisp, indulgent, and not overly sweet. It's easy to see why MAWN has earned such a loyal following. Exceptional hospitality, creative dishes that are executed with precision, and an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and special make this one of the best dining experiences I've had in Philadelphia. We'll absolutely be back, and next time, I'll be ordering the dishes we loved while making room to explore even more of the menu!
