Got takeout The pad Thai and pad keemao were both sweeter than expected. It felt like the flavor wasn't as balanced as the sweetness dominated a bit. Their spicy scale isn't bad so if you want spice, go higher compared to other Thai restaurants! The noodles were very soft and chewy. I added some extra spice at home and I think it improved the flavor. The space itself is super cute and decorated based on the season. Just arrived in Philadelphia and l didn't want to go anywhere to find food in the rain. Ordered this on Postmates. Delivery didn't take too long. Always a fan of fried tofu so I had to try it. It's fine, unfortunately it wasn't crunchy since it was delivery, but still good. The chive cake is very flavorful! But the star of this show are the crispy wings! 10/10! This place was great! Called very late because I wanted to place an order and they were very accommodating, which was really nice of them. When I went to pick up my order, I was very surprised by how cute and nicely decorated the inside was. I would love to come back to actually be seated next time because the ambience was great! I was greeted with welcoming service and the order was ready pretty fast. The food was also really good. I recommend the drunken noodles, it was packed with flavor and had a little bit of a kick to it with nicely cooked vegetables. I also got the pads see you, which I wasn't the biggest fan of. I have lived right down the street for a year and am finally trying Erawan. When I walked in, they had lovely holiday decorations, which added charm to the interior. My pad thai was fantastic; however, I opted for medium spice and would increase this next time. It was very well made, and the flavor was great. It's byob, and serve some unique dishes like tofu ravioli served with Thai curry sauce. The Khao Soi is amazing a little sweeter. Wanted to try out the Massuman curry at this Thai restaurant for a while. The place was pretty empty and the only people to walk in the door were DoorDash workers until when we ended the meal and finally another pair of restaurant goers came in. The decorations inside are pretty impressive. I really liked their red painted walls. The waitress didn't seem on top of her tables. Eventually we got the menu, water, and dishwear. We ordered the Massuman curry. I really liked how the chicken was super shredded. The roti was super crispy and tasted so good with the Massuman. We ordered a roti massaman curry, which they delivered quickly. The curry was sweet and savory but lacking vegetables like carrots. The roti was cut in small mouth size pieces, making it both convenient and delicious. Overall, would have been average experience except the cost was 40% higher than expected. After trying out this spot based on a Thai transplant's recommendation, I must say that Erawan is one of the best Thai restaurants in Philly. Our table ordered a few menu items and we were delighted by all the dishes. I was impressed that they offer chives cake as an appetizer here, since it's a street food that isn't that easy to find outside of Thailand. If you're a fan of fried chicken like me, you'll be thrilled to hear that they also offer Hat Yai chicken (gai tod hat yai). For the avid fans of seafood, their stir fried shrimps with curry sauce (goong pad pong karee) is also a dish that's highly recommendable. Our group couldn't stop eating even after we were full since we were THAT hooked. Erawan's price point may be a bit high, but their satisfyingly delicious food makes it worth it. Poor quality food. I've ordered take out from this restaurant many times but recently the quality has gone way down. The red curry, drunken noodle, and pad ka pow used to all be really good. However that was all different this most recent time. We ordered three simple dishes: pad Thai, pad ka pow, and basil fried rice. The restaurant/chef could not have messed it up more. The basil fried rice had no basil in it and the rice tasted like it was days old. The pad ka pow skimped on the vegetables and was insufficient quantity. The pad Thai (see photo) was more of a stale cake with all the noodles all stuck together and overcooked. It totally disappointed and was not fresh. All that being said this restaurant charges a high price for all these poor quality dishes. This is not the way food was in Thailand. The quality of the food by the chef has gone way down and should be replaced! Save your money and go elsewhere! read more

This is the second time the same server has acted unprofessionally toward me. Over a week ago, my family and I went for lunch. We inadvertently ordered the wrong food and the server gave us pushback after requesting to change the order. His response was, "They have already prepared the food." We decided to keep the food. Overall, the food was good so I gave a 20% tip even after not heeding to my complaint. My family and I went back yesterday for dinner and were waited on by the same individual. He was overly intrusive and kept hanging around our table. I gave a 10% tip this time and this guy questioned why I gave less than the minimum tip which was 15%. I could not believe it and told him that was what I was comfortable with. I always thought giving tips was at the customer's discretion. When was it mandatory to meet the minimum tipping limit on a bill? Am I missing something? I have been a loyal customer for over a decade and have dined in other locations but I do not think I will go back again. read more

I have been on a quest for flavorful yellow Thai curry. For some reason, this is not easy in Philly. Restaurants either don't offer it or the flavor is bland and flat. Finally found great yellow curry with tofu at Erawan! The curry was deliciously complex and so comforting in this chilly weather. This was once the most authentic Thai food in the city and the best by far. But it has new management now and the prices have gone up. It's also not as good as before - still yummy, just not what I had been expecting from past experience. Somewhat bizarrely, it appeared that 2 of the employees were drinking margarita mix next to us? We got the curry with half duck for 30 and whole fish for 39. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful and full red snapper dish and my wife loved the complex and rich red curry with the duck. It had hints of nuts and cashew which made it better . Additionally, albeit slightly over priced and not pretty, the scrambled eggs with pumpkin was actually a close favorite out of everything. I came to Erawan last weekend with my brother & SIL after they suggested on coming here. They've been here before, and so I had no complaints. Although I didn't use this, a yelp check in gets you a free app/dessert/or salad if you spend $50. We came on a late Sunday around 8:30 pm and waited only about 5 mins. The customer service is great as the hostess and waitresses check on you very often. I ordered a Thai Iced tea to start off. Although I love Thai iced Tea and it takes A LOT for me to not like it, this one was okay. It seemed very watered down due to ice or maybe there was ice already in it before. Not sure, but I didn't enjoy it that much. For our entrees, we ordered green curry, Pad Thai, and Drunken Noodles all veggies + tofu. Green Curry was really great. Seemed a bit watery to me though. The pad thai and drunken noodles were both tasty, but I didn't like their tofu. It was too soft and I like it when they are either fried a bit or crispy. I had never been here before the new management, but I did eat here Saturday night and was very impressed! We made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. They were so busy, and it seemed like there were only 2 waitresses, so we were patient for our order to be taken. We tried the green curry roti, the hat-yai fried chicken, and the shrimp rolls for appetizers. The green curry roti was very warming with a nice spice level; the fried chicken was crispy and so flavorful; and the shrimp rolls were stuffed with veggies and shrimp and fried perfectly. We shared the winter duck special, which was really tasty. It had a nice fat cap, crispy skin, and paired really well with the veggies with which it was served. We also ordered dessert since it was a special occasion, and loved the Pa Tong Goh Thai-style donut. It was served fresh from the fryer with a caramel sauce. We will definitely be back to try more of their expansive menu! read more

Atmosphere: Small and cozy. Service: Not enough servers for 12 of us. Our dishes were brought out at different times. We came to eat together. We made the best of it as they were pleasant and tried. Food Appetizers: Erawan Sampler which is a Combination of Golden Spring Rolls, Golden Bag, Fried Pork Dumplings, Fish Cakes, Shrimp Rolls and Chicken Satay. Most of it didn't have real flavor. Nothing lingered on our pallets. Crispy calamari which wasn't too bad Many different meals were ordered. from red thai curry, crab fried rice and dancing shrimp. Some ofus loved our meals and some felt it was waaaay too salty. Rice was overcooked. We forgot to ask do they still use MSG. When the bill came out, they wanted us to pay some of the bill in cash and some on a card which was quite odd. Ordered Pad Cha Talay Hoy Pan. This is the seafood medley. Food was good until the last piece of seafood. This was the fried piece of fish in the dish. Took one bite and the fish was rotten. Rotten. Putrid Smell, taste and all. Writing this comment because chef's comment was that the smell and taste was typical for red snapper. Waitress was gracious and gave us a 10% discount. Came here for lunch with a co-worked in late December. It was empty much of the time which is a shame because the food is great. Had a Thai coffee which they make so well. The Drunken Chicken I had was flavorful and not too spicy (I asked for a mild). The chicken was mostly white meat and cooked well. My friend had a curry she really loved. Will be back. read more
