Like many people, I had only heard of Erewhon via social media either for it being the most expensive healthy grocery store chain or for the impressive smoothie bar in all of the locations serving up juices, tonics, and smoothies, including celebrity tie-in ones. When I used to live in California, I had never set foot in one as most of their locations are concentrated around LA area. This time when I was visiting The Grove and Farmer's Market, my family stopped in to check it out. They have their own parking garage connected to the store. Security directs cars to available spaces in an effort to making parking more efficient. They had baked goods, hot food, the smoothie/juice bar, produce, frozen, and shelf stable food. They carry their own name-brand products and some other brands like Back to Nature, Cocojune, etc. True to what folks say online, the prices are higher than what you'll find in bigger chain stores. I would say it's not a bad option for those with specific dietary restrictions or those who can afford a more premium healthy grocery experience, but it's definitely not for everyone. The smoothie bar was very popular and often a lot of folks come here for the smoothies, including the Hailey Bieber one. I got in line and asked the gal at the counter what she would recommend as I was between 2 smoothie options. She felt it was best for my first choice to go with the Hailey Bieber one. They texted me when my order was ready, which was only a minute or two. The folks behind the smoothie bar have a good process down in terms of getting orders fulfilled and out to the customers in a timely manner. The famous smoothie made popular by Hailey Bieber is also one of the more expensive options on the menu. Flavor was a little sweeter than the smoothies I make at home, but I suspect it's due to the ingredients they used. Presentation was pretty, but I would say it was more of a fun experience once in a while. Did the smoothie improve my skin per the claims? I would say jury's out on that one, but it was a fun experience trying it. read more

Excellent Erewhon - was trying to find the $20 single strawberry but they said only the Beverly Hills location had it and it was sold out. Saw the $20 Hailey Bieber smoothie but the line was way too long to Bieberize. When I was trying to find a bottle of wine, Bryn and Christoph were very helpful. They also sell interesting things like sea moss gel, sugar free chocolates, dried fruits and more. Interior atmosphere also very cool and stylish with many different departments for the deli, sushi, coffee/smoothies, and nice fresh produce section as well. Highly recommended! read more

Erewhon is always a treat--mainly for the senses and the service. The customer service here is consistently top-notch; the staff are friendly, helpful, and make the experience feel premium. I especially love stopping in for one of their delicious smoothies--they're seriously next level. Also worth mentioning: the flower bouquets are stunning. Fresh, thoughtfully arranged, and a great gift (or self-care splurge). That said, I typically only come here for one or two specific things at a time. The pricing is definitely on the higher end, so it's not my everyday grocery stop. But if you're looking for beautifully fresh produce, ready-to-go meals that actually look (and taste) good, and curated wellness finds, and an exceptionally clean grocery store, Erewhon delivers. Food was delicious. Walking in, you can feel the fast paced energy of LA and I LIVVVEEE for it. It was my first time going and I can honestly say, it lived up to the hype. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because service was not the best. I understand they have a line and need to get people out asap but I felt rushed. They have a multitude of options to choose from. I recommend the slider and gluten Mac and cheese. Packed with flavor. The orange chicken was also delicious; crispy, yet airy at the same time. I'm writing to share feedback about a recent experience that was very disappointing. I ordered the Turmeric Crush smoothie after employees assured me it was well-balanced and not overly strong. However, once I got home, it was extremely difficult to drink -- the flavor was overwhelmingly bitter and caused a burning sensation in my mouth. This was not what I was told to expect, nor what I associate with your standards. I contacted customer service hoping for support, but instead felt dismissed and was told that because I'm not a member, I would need to return in person. That response felt particularly discouraging given the price point and reputation of your store. I'm not someone who complains lightly, but this experience fell far below expectations -- both in product quality and customer care. While the store was crowded and could benefit from a larger store, the shopping experience was well managed! The line went quickly to order food and the system to hand people their drinks when ordering smoothies went by quickly. While I have to say that the Hailey Bieber smoothie I ordered disappointed me slightly as it tasted like every other smoothie I've had (I also do not like smoothies so take my opinion there with a grain of salt), the food I ordered for around the same price ($20) was absolutely worth it!! Pricing is kind of all over the place. For example, their private label spring water is around $4, in line with other organic grocery stores, while their private label avocado oil is $25. I found the shelves kind of dusty on this particular visit; not sure if it's from a lack of cleaning or from inventory not moving quickly enough. I mainly go for the smoothies and hot bar, but they certainly carry some fun and quirky grocery items that are not sold anywhere else. Parking is free so that's nice too. read more

Not my favorite Erewhon location. It's a little bit chaotic and unorganized compared to other Erewhon stores I've been to. However, it was the closest to the Barry's in Weho, so decided to venture by for their famous smoothies. I got the Hailey Bieber smoothie ($20) and was expecting to be life changing...but no. It was good, but not $20 good. One sip and I was instantly released from Erewhon's cult-like grasp. Also, have you guys seen the calorie count and amount of sugar that goes into that drink? OMG it is NOT healthy. Don't kid yourselves. It's just marketing. There were some influencers milling about when I was at the store, but I had no idea who they were and also didn't really care enough to find out. Also, the quality has drastically decreased while the prices have drastically increased. I finally decided to try the viral Erewhon smoothie since I was in the area. There's a parking lot that's right next to the store that is monitored by staff and it is pretty small and crowded but well run. You get 60 min of free parking while you shop. I had no idea this place was basically a grocery store but it has a food line and also a smoothie line so make sure you stand in the right line. There are menus you can grab near the register to look at while you stand in line. We ended up getting the Hailey Bieber strawberry one and it was honestly pretty yummy and had a good consistency. I'm not super big into smoothies though and this was definitely not $20 worth so I doubt I would get this again. They've got a bunch of different options though! read more

Erewhon is my grocery store guilty pleasure. The staff and customer service here have been 10/10 every time I've been. Last time I was waiting in the hot bar line to order with a big bag of soup jar returns and an employee walked over to me and offered to take my bag and keep at the register so I didn't have to cart it around with me. I love their hot bar and all the yummy goodies and wellness products you can find here. Only downfall about this location is it is quite cramped this both the parking lot and the store can get QUITE chaotic. I would come during off hours if you can help it. There's usually a long wait at the Tonic Bar, but this time line was short so I gave it a shot. I ordered the Maca Bomb smoothie. It tasted ok, a bit sweeter than I expected. There were lots of chunks of ice and didn't seem to be well blent. After drinking 2/3 of it, I was left with lots of solid chunk that was not blent in the liquid AND lots of large chunks of ice cubes. This was a terribly made smoothie. When I spend $19 for a smoothie I should be amazed, but this was way below average. I will stick to Earthbar going forward read more

Stopped by Erewhon after walking around The Grove, hoping for a quick snack or smoothie. The store was very busy, with a long line of folks waiting. It was crowded and a bit loud, expected given the foot traffic. The staff behind the counter were clearly hustling and churning out orders as fast as they could. The cashier who helped me was an absolute sweetheart, super friendly amid the chaos. I ordered an açaí bowl without bananas, but unfortunately it took four tries to get it right. Each time it came out with bananas, it had to be thrown out and remade. The manager eventually stepped in and made it herself. What should've been a 15-20 minute stop turned into a 45-minute wait, which was frustrating, even though I could tell they were doing their best and likely on autopilot. That said, once I finally got the bowl, it was delicious and super fresh. I'd recommend the food, just be prepared to wait during peak hours, and double-check your order if you have any custom requests. read more

We came around 9AM this morning and I just have to shout out the staff! I had 3 separate amazing experiences, maybe the best I've had in LA. I wish I could remember their names, but one person helped me look for an item they didn't end up having, and she even went to look it up to be sure. Very attentive and kind. Though the produce seemed of high quality and the prices were comparable to those of other stores. I decided to order the Coconut Cloud Smoothie, which took about 20 minutes to get given the line and how quickly each smoothie could be made. With all the anticipation of waiting and the price of $19 I was expecting to be blown away, but honestly it was just okay and really lacking in flavor. Love this Erewhon location! Everyone is extremely nice and always happy to help. There is a small window on the side of here you can go to pick up any Uber orders. I like that the window is open way to access and you don't have to walk into the store. They have a parking garage as well so you can park in the garage. This is the closest erewhon to me and I usually just walk here. I love coming here for a quick lunch or grabbing a smoothie. Being an out of town-er I knew I had to visit Erewhon while I was in LA and try the viral coconut cloud smoothie. I knew it was going to be pretty expensive (around $20). Overall the smoothie was pretty good but definitely not worth the inflated price, the novelty did add to the experience though. The real star of the show is the food at the hot bar. The roasted chicken thighs were coated in a delicious mustard sauce and were super tender. The buffalo cauliflower is a must try! It's got a bit of a kick while the cauliflower is almost creamy inside the fried batter. The staff overall are super friendly and gave me lots of recommendations for things to try. Well, I was a basic girl and got an Erewhon smoothie when I went to LA. I couldn't get the famous HB smoothie because it has avocado, so I got the Sabrina Carpenter smoothie and was actually impressed. I liked the tartness to it. My husband got the mango one and thought it was too sweet. I mean $20 bucks is steep for a smoothie and I don't think I'd go back and get it again but it was a cool experience. The store is so cute, givess me Whole Foods but more expensive (hard to believe) vibe. The store had some great things but it seemed a bit smaller and less impressive than the Venice location. We had to run to the bathroom during the trip as well and the line was very long for one bathroom. It also needed to be attended to. Overall, it is what I expected for shopping at Erewhon. So I am a girlie who is currently struggling with h pylori and acid reflux so my diet is very limited (avoid high fat meals, citrus, chocolate, spicy foods, garlic, onions, caffeine, highly processed foods, black pepper, added sugar except honey, acidic food). I came in today and got the new Sabrina carpenter smoothie but exchanged the pineapple for banana (pineapple is highly acidic) & I loved it!!! it was so so beautiful and tasty. I also got the salmon roll and my partner got the sushi burrito. They were both delicious! Sushi burrito was a tad messy tho (as expected). The store itself is a bit crowded, the other customers today seemed to lack spacial awareness.
