I began seeing Dr. Charissa Chin in May 2018, upon the recommendation of a friend when I began having some decay under a crown. I saw Dr. Chin first at her Graceful Smiles location in Springfield, but her hours were more and more limited there. So I switched to her Rose Hill location with Dr. Mestas. Dr. Chin is a caring, highly intelligent dentist who understood that many of my issues (grinding, fractures, jaw pain) were due to my overall jaw/tooth structure, so I agreed to an occlusal analysis. I do not regret this investment one bit! After Dr. Chin reshaped my teeth, I no longer grind because my teeth all "hit" at the same time. So all the fractures that she's been watching, all the decay that she's been cleaning out and covering with crowns, and the ONE TOOTH that I went in for originally, that is now extracted and waiting for a new implant .... all of this has been done with kindness and expertise that has helped immensely - see, I'm a dental phobic. It took a LOT to get me in that chair for all these procedures, but Dr. Chin does wonderful work, thoroughly and with consideration for the patient. And we all know that a doctor's office does not end with the doctor; the front desk must also carry a lot of the treatment logistics and patient needs - insurance, prescriptions, etc. Mariela has been very helpful, and knows her stuff. I always feel as though I'm in good hands, even while I feel overwhelmed by insurance. Mariela has handled everything from insurance claims to prescriptions for Valium (like I said, phobic) to reassuring me that I really, really should just come in as scheduled instead of wimping out because I'm terrified. :) My teeth are better, though there's still a crown or three and an implant to get through. But Dr. Chin has been able to explain the whys and hows in a way that makes sense, and she's improved my overall oral health in a relatively short time. Highly recommend! Whether you see her in Rose Hill at Dr. Mestas' office, with Mariela at the front desk, or at Graceful Smiles in Springfield with Mayra at the desk (she's amazing and deserves her own Yelp review!), you will be in good hands with Dr. Chin and staff. read more

Dr. Mestas cares about his patients. He and his staff are very kind and friendly. They even go above and beyond to fit in the emergency ones too on same day appointments, as well as helping out with references to endodontics if needed. I have been referred twice by him to an endodontic for root canals and were pleased with it. Had two crowns done by Dr. Mestas, as well as regular cleaning. Very happy customer. read more

My husband and I have been using Dr. Mestas for quite some time now (at least 10 years). We have consistently been pleased with his office from the front desk, to the dental hygienist, and of course Dr. Mestas himself. Our kids have recently begun going as well since they are older now. My 11 year old chose the office over her pediatric dentist when I gave her the choice. Professional, caring, competent are a few descriptors. Friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. I dont have dental insurance and all the pricing is fair. I was told by another doctor that I needed a root canal but doctor Mestas was able to do his magic and repair my tooth without a root canal. 2 years later it is still holding up and feels great. I see them every 6 months for a checkup. Genuine doctors are hard to come by and very happy with the refferal that was given to me by my friend. read more

Dr. Mestas is by far one of the best doctors I have ever dealt with. He is super friendly and exercises extreme concern for his patients. He just wants to see you smile! He is very thorough with information. If you have questions, he's got the answers! Plus he gets bonus points for having such an adorable office pup aka Milo. Fantastic as always. Dr. Mestas is a great dentist. Been going there for years. I recently had Invisalign done with him and with fantastic results. Three children have done since they were very young to his practice. All have received outstanding treatment and referrals. The hygienists at the practice are very helpful. The front desk is very flexible and works with you to get the appointments in when you need them. There is very little wait in the office which is fantastic. read more

The WORST dentist you could go to. He should be sued, complete malpractice. Killed my brothers tooth when filling a cavity, tried to cover up mistake by doing root canal and then stopped halfway through procedure because he was "nervous" leaving my brother with half a root canal done. For me, put sealants over cavities in my back molars, had to have another dentist take my sealants off and fill my cavities. read more

This review is for oral exam/cleaning/x-rays and services. Very snowy day in DC area today.. I thought my appointment was almost cancelled due to bad weather, but the dental office receptionist called me at 7:30am that I could come in a bit early if I wanted. I was so happy that the office wasn't closed. I received prophylaxis / oral cleaning and annual checkup, and Kristine (dental hygienist, sp?) did a really great job with thorough oral cleaning. She taught me how to floss properly so I;m going to do it right starting today. :-) My last dentist in College Park didn't see me for oral hygene / annual check up (which is wrong and that's why I left them), but Dr. Mestas came in and checked my teeth to make sure everything's ok. X-ray and visual examination revealed that I got no cavities (so far)! This place is not that far from my parents' place, and I plan to visit this place for my routine oral care. read more

Dr. Mesas is the BEST dentist I have ever encountered. Disregard any review that's not a 5 and take a look at his google reviews. One of the best qualities you can find in a dentist is someone who not only does a great job but genuinely has your best interest at heart and will sit down with you to formulate a plan that makes the most sense not only FINANCIALLY but by priority. He is very kind and actually makes you feel like a person instead of "just another patient" He never rushes you and actually listens to your concerns and does the job right the first time. Dr. Mestas and staff provide outstanding experiences every time we come in for appointments. I've been coming for five years, my wife for four, and my kids since they got their teeth (they're now six & four).
