Amazing Food, Super Friendly Staff, minutes away from Bonaventure Cemetery a must stop while visiting Savannah

    Redfish

One of our first restaurants after relocating to the Savannah area last month. And this was a great way to start our Love affair with the Savannah restaurant scene. We found this spot on yelp after driving around Central Savannah looking for a nice place to have lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The weather was really nice and so we elected to sit outside, and while it was a little windy, service was still really strong with our server checking on us multiple times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And the food was divine. Fresh, well prepared and really well seasoned. The redfish was excellent! Definitely looking forward to returning again.

Crab cakes (I had already eaten one), slaw and green beans for sides and had a few of my husband's fried shrimp.

Great service, fantastic food, generous servings and reasonable prices. We shared the fried green tomatoes (delicious) and the side salad is huge! One in our party had the crab stew and said it was full of crab and delicious. Ambiance: adaptive reuse of an old gas Station. Not a huge place but very comfortable. At 5 pm on a Saturday, no crowds, no lines. By 6:30, there was a line. No reservations taken. Definitely go early. I had two crab cakes with green beans and slaw. Husband had fried fish and shrimp. Our hosts had the crab stuffed flounder and the smoked brisket. The dishes were all great.

Everything that is served here I have to believe is fabulous! I had the shrimp with the fried okra and the Brussels sprouts. The shrimp was lightly fried and so fresh and delicious. The okra and Brussels were amazing well. My husband had the flounder, again lightly fried to perfection. It came with red rice and the Darien shrimp. Food: 5 stars [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: 5 stars[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: 5 stars

Crab soup packed with crab, down to the last bite.

I was in Savannah for a day to take my aunt to dinner for her birthday and not being familiar with dining in Savannah I went to Yelp and found Erica Davis Lowcountry. The recommendations of others was spot on. The food was outstanding, the service (shout out to Jamal for great service and recommendations, and the young lady that greeted you was exceptional as well) outstanding, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restaurant was housed in an old service station that was so well remodeled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] EDL had a store at the entrance of the restaurant with some really unique items. The meal; crab soup that was loaded with crab, blackened red fish perfectly cooked, and for dessert a pecan bar with vanilla ice cream that was as good as any southern dessert I've had.

We spent 5 days in Savannah and this was our best meal by far. Jamal was our server and he was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was bright and clean and the bathrooms spotless.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was delish! I had brisket and my husband the redfish. It was all awesome.

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Erica Davis Lowcountry. I had this spot bookmarked since it was close to our AirB&B when visit Savannah over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. They also had fried green tomatoes on their regular menu which made me want to go there even more! We came as a party of 5 and they were able to sit us inside as requested. All of the staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. Gotta love the southern hospitality! We ordered various dishes and even shared some as the portions were quite large! I loved the fried green tomatoes appetizer (what I came for), as well as the bourbon glazed brussels sprouts. The only disappointing thing that we encountered was that the mac-n-cheese that came as a side were all served cold. When we let the waitress know when she came back to check on us, they delivered fresh and hot mac-n-cheese's to us which was really great! Overall, the experience, presentation, food taste and quality were all really great and if I lived closer I would definitely visit on a regular basis! 10/10 recommend!

This was the delicious shrimp and grits!!

My wife and I went here with friends we were visiting while in Savannah. The chicken sandwich was tasteless and very disappointing. The shrimp and grits was the opposite. It was fantastic on all fronts! Very hearty and quite rich!! The bread and butter was better than average.

Will the outside tables fit five adults? We will be visiting but will have our small dog ( Shih tzu) in a stroller?

We can push to the smaller tables together to make a table for six. People bring their dogs all the time to eat outside with us.

What are the health violations for score of 80?

We had a cooler that was next to the oven and would not hold temp below 40 degrees, needed an air gap -9 pts - now fixed. An expired buttermilk in the walk-in cooler - missed…

For lunch, we went with the blackened Baja fish tacos based on our waitress's recommendation. Great call. The blackened fish added another layer of flavor, and the coleslaw was excellent--on the tacos or straight off the fork. The vibe was laid back, friendly, and easy. Local artwork on the walls gave the place a nice community feel, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the restrooms were clean--which always earns bonus points. Overall, Castaways is a great stop for a light lunch, good food, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Highly recommend.

You can sit inside and have a cute view at the booth ir your can sit outside in a little balcony type. Very surfer aesthetic! Pricing was okay too. We had 3 people and each of us had our own entre along with the 2 appetizer and it came out to be about $36 eqch with tips. I had the salmon blt and it could use a little bit more seasoning but it it was cooked just right! The home made chips were absolutely to die for because it was so delicious! Not salty at all and perfect crisp at every bite! We also got fried tomato and it was topped with I believe, goat cheese and it was so crispy and delicious, I do with it has a bit more seasoning on it but we paired it with the crab dip and it was perfect to the taste!
