We were very disappointed in their service and our meal. There is no sign when you walk in that tells customers to wait to be seated or just take a seat. We waited a couple of minutes before someone even acknowledge we were there. The waitress just told us to find a seat. There were a few seats but they had not been bussed. We both ordered omelettes, but it took almost 25 minutes to get our meals. Our omelettes were smaller compared to other restaurants we've visited in the area. The menu said 3 egg omelettes, but it looked like 2, and the potatoes were still raw in the center. We were given only one napkin each and had to ask for more, and our waitress gave us only one more each(WOW). The English muffins were barely toasted, like they were put in the toaster for 20 seconds, if that. We ordered water because their coffee comes from Farmer's Brothers coffee(restaurant coffee, garbage stuff). We put our water glasses on the edge of the table to be refilled, and about 10 minutes later the busser(busboy) came over and asked if we wanted some more water. When we finally saw our waitress again, she was bringing us our check, and the busboy followed and started picking up our plates. My co-worker was done eating, but I wasn't. He didn't even bother to ask if we were done, he just started grabbing our plates. I have to ask, have these people ever been in the restaurant business before? read more

Erica's has been a favorite eatery for our family. We were saddened when the previous owners retired but were extremely pleased with what the new owners have done! I love that they kept the previous menu favorites and love that they have included a touch of their own with the addition of a few Mexican food dishes. They are also open to customer dish suggestions for example, my husband suggested a certain sauce for a Chili Relleno dish he ordered once. Well, the next time we went there, they had actually made the sauce!! We were so impressed! We are also pleased with how the restaurant has a fresh new look. The service is very good with a very friendly staff. The prices are very reasonable, the food is delicious, always hot and tasty when served, and big portions too. Went there for breakfast on a Saturday. The couple that own/run are really nice and bust it out. I like the hometown tackiness feel that is your go-to b fast place. I went to Erica's cafe with my two children for brunch on a Saturday afternoon based on the yelp reviews and their convenient location. I was disappointed in their service and their food. It took them 30 minutes to simply take our order and they didn't have the courtesy to apologize for the delay. The food that eventually arrived was cooked in what tasted like old oil and was unappetizing. You know something is wrong when kids won't eat whip cream covered Mickey Mouse pancakes! Place smelled like whatever harsh industrial cleaners they use, dining room was very tacky and out-dated, food was mediocre at best. My hash browns were soggy with grease, wifes home fries were way undercooked to the point where they still had a raw potato crunch. Country fried steak was more like cornmeal crusted hamburger and have seen better toast made from dollar store bread. Did Not finish half my meal and left hungry... On the flip side the owners were very sweet people, treated everyone in the restaurant like they were friends. We did enjoy their company, nice folks. This is our first visit. To start let me tell you it was a hopping place when we got there alittle after 11:00am. We got seated immediately but, had a long wait for a menu and drink order. We went there after reading the reviews and searching for a restaurant with shrimp omelettes, which we were craving. After placing the order, 10 Mins later we were informed they were out of shrimp. So, neither of us got our shrimp! Had to settle for chili and cheese and ham and cheese. After food arrived I didn't get my English muffin, and had to ask twice to get it! Got it more than halfway thru my meal. Food was good! But, service was poor! We are going to try them one more time before we make up our mind. Intro & Atmosphere - Erica's Cafe always had a slightly forlorn look to the outside. Perhaps due to the area, or the simple and low-key signage. Vaguely speaking, I questioned it, on occasion, whether this place was still open for business, and how it might look on the inside, etc. Almost all was left to the imagination from the exterior, due to the tinted windows, and ambiguous decor outside. Regardless, don't let the outside completely fool you. It's actually a very cutesy and rather warm setup inside, and I was promptly greeted by a bubbly and energetic waitress whose enthusiasm bordered on frantic (in a charming way). Service - Service had been consistent and kept straddling the line between good and excellent for me. I enjoyed being waited on periodically, and the staff was friendly, though there were brief lapses of wishing I were visited more often throughout the meal. Generally, however, the staff was quite accommodating to a man ordering various bits and pieces of the menu for the sake of sampling. Food - As for the food, I currently only have notes on breakfast items; stay posted for updates. Nonetheless, I started with their pancake and french toast. The pancake was fairly standard, but nothing to complain about. It was fluffy and moist, and it generally met the "good" line for quality and portion/value. The French Toast was phenomenal, to put it simply. The value and portion may be a bit more on the typical side, so no real savings, but it was worth the price - eggy, crisp exterior, fluffy interior, thoughtful presentation and a great flavor altogether. Moving onto savory, I wanted to sample their eggs. I gave 2 each of scrambled and poached-easy a try. Scrambled was enjoyable, and done very properly - salted and peppered lightly, moist, but stable, and with a fluffy rippled mound presentation. Poached was done correctly, not overcooked or wispy and torn up, though that's my full comment. It was nothing to really write home about, and that's alright, but their scrambled (and likely fried, too) is where it's at. All-around experience - If only I could give them about a 4.5, I would. They meet the cafe/diner standards very well, and plenty of their options offer a delightful Asian twist! That's what really sticks out about them, beyond the quality of the food being pretty high for a little obscure diner. I was asked my name upon paying my bill, just so they could remember it for next time, and seemed quite genuine when saying they hoped to see me again. I appreciated them, and I could say the feeling seemed mutual. I'll be updating (hopefully soon) with lunch/dinner content. For now, I'd say it's not a bad pit-stop for a lazy weekend morning or casual brunch with friends. read more

So we haven't been here before and wanted to stop by. The owner, Sun, took our orders. She did not write anything down- which I should have known when the drink order was confused that this might be a problem. There were 2 waitstaff and 3 tables, so the food came out promptly. My husband ordered pancakes, and I ordered French toast and she brought out 2 French toasts. I asked for peanut butter, she brought peanut butter which had been scooped with the butter scoop (so I hope they wash it going the other way for those with peanut allergies) and charged me $1 (not mentioned but on the bill). The bacon was over cooked, which I actually like but my husband did not enjoy his over cooked bacon (which the menu said it came with 2 bacon and 2 sausage but she said it is only 2 total). My husband thought the French toast had that "something with fish was cooked" taste, I didn't notice it - probably because the dry chunky peanut butter. They also did not even offer to refill my water and brought the check immediately with the food. In general, the price was good, but there is no reason the service should be so poor. This place is great. They constantly filled my coffee cup. The bacon was thick and the hash browns were chruchy. The service was great.
