Prices are reasonable and they accept card which is a luxury in north end. Place is cute, can tell there's a lot of history behind it. That being said the pizza was just ok. We ordered two slices which was actually four and ended up sharing one of each and it was more than enough food. The buffalo chicken was ok, the chicken didn't feel fresh and the mushroom while generous with the toppings didn't have the best structural integrity and was falling apart. read more

This place is legit! Pictured are "THREE" slices of pie-- we got 6? I guess their single slice = 2! Good value. Crust was nice and crisp on the bottom and the slices were not too greasy. Came here on a recommendation from a friend, and wow, it did not disappoint! This place was awesome! The slices were enormous and they were delicious!! We gad a Buffalo chicken, chicken and broccoli and a meat lover. Loved the variety, so much to choose from. Each 'slice ' varied in price from $5-$9, I believe. Ernesto's was one of our stops on our north end pizza tour and it was the favorite for all three of us in our party! Not too much sauce (and not too sweet), not too much cheese, cooked well with thin crust. I don't prefer what I call 'shake cheese's but sometimes it just works, along with red pepper flakes. Bummers our tour had to leave quickly, to make room for other customers, because there is very limited seating inside. It was a cool place that I would've loved to sit at a bit. read more

Second location I've tried. The first being in assembly whilst waiting for the hello kitty truck. Came thru in the clutch. While in the north end for an appointment i decided to get a pie for the shop and selected sausage, ricotta cheese with jalepenos. I tend to choose a style pie that looked good, unfortunately we was starving and i forgot to snap a picture. It was quick, ready in 10 min or so and it was hot and yummy. I do think the sausage would have tasted better with a bit more seasoning. Nothing a bit of garlic powder, parm and red chili flakes can't fix. Small shop like most in the north end, has tables for seating 4 toppers and 2 toppers. Will be back. read more

Ahhh! Ernesto's pizza is just top tier. I've tried their pizza in Assembly Row before and it was divine. Just yesterday, we got a whole pizza with sausage, jalapeños, and ricotta cheese. Chef's kiss!! I highly recommend trying either locations. And honestly, I am not even a pizza person (I know it sounds crazy) but EUREKA! Finally tried Ernesto's. Ideally I'd give it a 3.5 It's a big 'ol pizza pie. Definitely one of the largest I've seen. It seems that buying a pie is a way better value than by the slice. We got a mushroom with ricotta. Like all my other pizza reviews for Boston, it needs more sauce . Probably some salt too. But at the end it was a good pie, the crust was chewy and not too crunchy. Taking off points for the following: - the bottom could use more of a crunch/bite, ours was on the floppy side - the prices on the website aren't up to date - our pizza was about $5 more - didn't love the herbed ricotta, which was a surprise because the menu just says "ricotta" -- I won't get this again. read more

1 slice is more than enough for one person. The crust is so good! The texture, the chew, it has a crisp to it that's just enough without being crunchy. We got 1/2 caprese and 1/2 cheese. The toppings are perfectly proportioned. Service is quick, the dining room is tiny, so grab your box and head down to the park and enjoy it outdoors if you can. It gets crowded. read more

We ordered through a delivery app and weren't notified that it was delivered to our hotel, so it was cold before we got it. The pizza itself was huge and delicious. We ate it before we left for the Celtics game and after we came back from the bar. I would eat here again, hopefully it will be hot next time. read more

Prices are reasonable, we spent less than $50 for two small pizzas and two drinks. The pizzas were very good and the crust was excellent. Service was good. The place is small and I hear the Thacher location is better than the Fanueil Hall location. The menu has quite a few options, including a couple of vegetarian pizzas.

The steak tips were juicy and cooked nicely, but they tasted like they lacked seasoning or marinade so I had to sprinkle some salt and pepper on them. Of course, the pizza is what we were really there for and I can tell you that it checks all the boxes for a classic pizza. The crust is on the thinner, crispier side which I actually prefer. The pie as a whole had a great color and good flavor between the cheese, sauce and toppings. After experiencing it for myself, it's pretty easy to understand why Santarpio's is so highly regarded in the world of pizza. They stick to what they know and they execute it well.

But I see that as ensuring you are only eating a fresh product, where all the ingredients cook into each other and come out hot and ready, instead or something reheated from four hours ago because the day was slow. The menu is simple: pizzas and meat skewers. They know what they do well and lean into it hard. The ambiance has a rustic feel, with tall, weathered wooden booths that make eating a close experience, so please bring people you really like! The servers are present but not hovering and checked on us with the kind of frequency that says, "yeah we should let you eat but not forget you are there." I will be back for sure.

Has Potential...but has a few flaws The pizza itself is pretty good. Good crust, nice blend of cheeses, and respectable sauce. That being said, I would probably avoid the ""slices"" from now on. The pies are left out (pretty dried out). Even with a reheating, it doesn't really do the pizza justice. The slices are twice the price...but you get double the pizza (so keep that in mind when you order). The place is small...I mean really small. If you blink as you walk by, you'll probably miss it. A few tables are available but during lunchtime...don't expect to sit. My other complaint is the place is grimey. I mean really grimey. The last time is was cleaned was probably when the original Ernesto (as framed in the picture near the counter) ran the joint. It doesn't give you that warm fuzzy feeling when you're ordering pizza. Anyway, if you go to Ernesto's, I would recommend you order a whole pie (or slices that just came out of the oven). Otherwise, I would pass on the cold, reheated slices. read more

With all due respect to the other poster's about Ernesto's ie I don't like being negative, but I really have to say/ask what is all the fanfair for Ernesto's Pizza house? Their pizza (calzone and rice balls also) are expensive,is usually reheated when they serve the slices and the ingredients the mozzarella on the pizza and the rice in the rice balls is not buffalo mozz. or aborio rice. I suggest you try Haymarket pizza for betting qualkty at one-third the price (whole pies for $9, slices $1.25). Once again I don't like being negative but I feel obligated to make people away of Haymarket pIzza only a few blocks away across the Rose Kennedy park in the Haymarket "fruit market" district. Just curious if anyone has tried Haymerket Pizza formerly known as " Al Capone's" when i was a kid. read more

A small little pizzeria, but definitely worth it! I went in there with a group of friends, and at first was put off my the prices. $3.50 for a slice of pizza? $4.50 if if has chicken on it? But no, a slice of pizza is actually two entire slices, so you get a fourth of a pizza for around $4 which is a great deal! So now I went with a few friends, and hey I didn't want to eat two entire slices of the same pizza, so i got one kind, my friend got another and we each traded a slice. it worked out perfectly! Pizza was delicious, although it's better if they just made it. I had the Hawaiian pizza, which was pretty good, but I also had pizza topped with chicken, tomatoes, cheese and ranch dressing. Best pizza in the north end. Used to live across the street and had to stop myself for going there all the time. The location is unassuming and I'm pretty sure it's run by the mob but don't let that deter you. The slices are huge! One slice is 1/4 of a New York style slice of pizza. They have an amazing selection of pizza's but I recommend the bacon chicken ranch or the BBQ chicken. In the nice weather grab a slice and eat it on the greenway or even better visit their new and only second location in assembly row in Somerville! Love that they opened up another location. Forget Regina's where the service sucks and head straight to ernestos. read more

This place has got my vote for the Best pizza in the city. Granted, I have not tried every pizza joint in town - but now that I know about this little hole in the wall on Salem St in the North End, I don't want to try other places. One order of a "slice" actually gets you two big slices. Great crust and perfect toppings! Great prices...A few tables are inside and they have a table or two outside, but it can be hard to actually sit down and eat if it is busy. There is so much yummy food in the north end it is hard to know where to start. I've dedicated years to exploring all the options and Ernesto's comes out on top. I've never been to Italy but friends have said it is authentically Italian style pizza. Just don't expect any place fancy. My husband had already asked for his beer again when the pizza arrived, and only then did the other employee reappear and get reminded by the cook about the drink. The whole experience felt disorganized and unusual. If you enjoy salads sweeter than an overhyped cannoli, this might be your place.
