I came here the day after having a lackluster experience at Regina's, I was only in town for a long weekend and needed redemption. On a Saturday the wait was out the door as expected but It went fast, less than 10 minutes and we were front of the line. I read a few reviews that said a whole pie is the way to go over slices but frankly after spending 2+ hours at regina for lackluster pizza the day before, slices sounded great. The duo behind the counter was friendly, smiling, joking, good guys. The pizza was great! Omg. The best dough and crispy crust with a pillowy center. The tomato sauce is chunky and is simply delicious! The mozzarella is fantastic with a perfect pull. The ricotta is herbed so it's bursting with flavor. Finally, the eggplant was incredible with the perfect amount of breading to add flavor and crunch without overpowering the natural goodness of the veggie and wasn't greasy at all. Yelp suggested this place for best pizzas in the area, specifically the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. We ordered via UberEats abs unfortunately the delivery took forever (not a mistake on the restaurant). When the pizza finally arrived, we were very surprised by the size of the pizza. The slices are ginormous and the full pizza can definitely be shared between 3-4 people.. sharing ofcourse is optional. Let's get to the basics, the pizza had sufficient amount of sauce and the cheese to chicken ratio was fine too. As the delivery was delayed, my pizza was cold and the crust was dried out. However, we were still pretty satisfied due to the flavour and portion size. The Buffalo sauce gives it a kick, paired well with chilli flakes. A cold and windy Saturday afternoon calls for a pizza, and I am so glad we came by Ernesto's in the North end of Boston after completing an hour-long heritage walk. The restaurant is tucked in a cobblestone street with many taverns and oyster bars, not too far from Quincy Market, our regular to-go place in Boston. The place is small, with about three tables that can seat 2 and 4 each. We did find a comfortable seat quickly, and the pizzas were quick to get (self-service). They are served in paper plates and paper boxes- extra points for being sustainable. The door being opened often did bring in some cold draft. We got a Chicken ranch and another chicken with Brocolli and mushroom. The ranch one was perfect! It was a rare, flavorful pizza with a crispy base, sufficiently topped and seasoned. We ate a slice after a few hours at home, and it still tasted delicious. The broccoli could have been cooked a bit more. They have a small storefront in the North End district of Boston (Italian area). We walked in, and headed straight to the back and ordered our slices. Two cheese slices, one cheese pepperoni and one margarita. Now what you have to realize about these slices is they are 1/4 of the pizza. That's right, one slice is 1/4 of a large pizza. The crust had a fairly sturdy undercarriage. I felt that the cornicione was not airy enough. It seemed like a 24-hour dough versus a 48 hour. I was happy that, per a very clean and socially responsible recycling trash can over the Central Artery's park-like lid with an advertisement for Ernesto's, I could grab a slice of pizza or two and that would constitute lunch in Boston's North End. In reality, I had seen this trash can before and filed the ad away in my head for future reference. So, you see, clever advertising reeled me in, too. However, this isn't for something shlocky. It's for pizza and it can serve as a meal. The advertisement mentioned that Ernesto's features Boston's biggest slice of pizza. And they probably do. It's very easy to get here from the park over the Central Artery. It's but a block or so away. Also, it's a small store and there isn't much seating. All of the pizzas available as pies or by the slice are on display. They are not labeled, either because they keep sliding in new ones as they make them or because they just don't label them. It's easy to figure out what the standard ones are. However, with some of the more "esoteric" ones, one might have to ask. I got two slices. I probably shouldn't have. The slice with pepperoni was devoured quickly. The other one took more effort and I didn't finish it. (What? And I go to buffets?) That was my fault for ordering pizza with ricotta on it which, in my opinion, makes pizza taste too bland. The experience was mostly okay, with their two huge slices making for too big of a meal, and with the demerits being somewhat disinterested customer service, variability in how good the pizza flavors were, and too thick of a crust for my taste. They were looking for staff ... maybe being asked what flavor the pizzas in the glass case are over and over causes them to experience burnout, but I doubt it. In addition to tourists, I did see a lot of locals. They were smartly having one large slice of pizza with something to wash it down - they do have a soft drink machine. They've probably been able to zero in on which type of pizza they like. So, for me, Ernesto's was a 3 star experience. However, for those who have this routine dialed in terms of selecting their favorite slice of pizza among those offered, it could be a 4 star experience. read more

Ordered delivery to our hotel after a long day, the food came quick and warm, I'm impressed by their speed in making the pizzas. Presentation was nice as well! We got the garden salad, pepperoni pizza, and Buffalo chicken supreme pizza. My dad said the salad was OK- it came with a handful of olives, 2 cucumber slices, maybe 1/3rd of a tomato and a BUNCH of lettuce. If you just want to eat a bunch of lettuce- the garden salad is for you. I didn't try the pepperoni pizza, my dad said it was really good and my brother said "too oily", so we had a split opinion. Me and my mom ate the Buffalo supreme, and as someone who doesn't eat pizza often, this had me coming back for 2nds and 3rds. I loved it, it has nice flavor and the peppers and chicken were perfectly spread throughout the pizza. I would definitely recommend the Buffalo chicken supreme, it hit the spot. The crust made up for it and gets the place 4 stars still. The red sauce was good- could use a little more spice to it but ultimately this place makes a good pie. Small cramped seating but you're not there to feel fancy. Nice big window helps a lot. Service was okay. No signs saying what each pizza was and had to ask over and over about different options instead of just having someone tell us all at once. Pizzas aren't in a warmer so they have to get reheated when you order a slice. Slice was just barely warm and would've been much better if it was actually hot. read more
