I had a very disappointing experience at Escape Nails and Spa, and I feel compelled to share. I received a French manicure from the same male technician on two separate visits. I paid $80 for the initial service, expecting a high-quality result. Instead, the polish started peeling just 2 days later. I returned a week later hoping the issue would be corrected, but unfortunately, the second manicure began peeling the very next day. For context, I've had French manicures done at other reputable salons, and they typically last a minimum of 4 weeks--so this was clearly a quality issue. I have photos to prove how quickly the polish deteriorated both times. I'm requesting a refund of the $80, as I did not receive the quality or longevity promised. Me Time! Virgil had a meeting and I had a few hours to myself so what better time to get my nails done. After discovering Brittany my go to girl is no longer here.... now what do I do.. Well the owner Michelle, will be doing my nails and Tenecia is doing my toes. Tenecia has been here for 3 months and doing nails for about 2 years. She is pretty quiet but does a good job- especially paying attention to details regarding her work. This shop is always hopping lots of people in and out .. The one thing I don't particularly care for is that for some reason all the nail stylists don't do everything (with the exception of the owner and a few Veterans). Since Tenecia Is the person doing my toes now, I would be very comfortable with her doing my nails.. She tells me she doesn't do manicures only fills and acrylics! Guess the owner Michelle, made an executive decision to have Layla do my nails. Michelle filed their gel polish off my nails then had Layla complete the rest. Layla has been here for 3 weeks and I can tell she isn't completely comfortable doing nails. She left some previous of the polish on my nails, once I asked about it she said " Michelle already took the polish off" so the plan would have been to paint over the nails. NOT! I asked her if she could take that off before polishing the nails. Two fingers don't have the gel polish... It took this women 45 min to take soak off my nails. I was in pain from the buffing process that she seemed to be new at. Once 45 min passed I told them I would leave and pay what ever I owed. My nails were weak and sore from how much she dug the buffing machine into my weak nails. This is how what they "think" a good job looks like. I will not be returning. I came in because the place is literally 2 blocks away from my house and I thought -convenient. The inconvenience of getting lousy treatment is not worth it. I will never come here again, in fact I didn't even finish my Mani pedi- I got up and left. This used to be my regular to go place. But they don't take appointments and the wait can be horribly long. I would end up calling ahead and as they knew me, would then tell me when it was a good time to come - but it would still be a hit or miss. I tried making that effort even I moved away far but ended up giving up. Btw if you go for a pedi, I recommend Mae! It's cheap service so for that you can't complain here. This is literally the worst nail salon I have ever been to. First of all they're place looks so dingy and unsanitary, I should've walked out as soon as I walked in. But they seemed nice so I stayed. I got a girl who didn't know what she was doing, she did a really bad job with my acrylics, even the manager had to reprimand her several times while doing my nails. Then the manager said she would do my toenails for free and lied afterwards when it was time for me to pay and said she never told me that. Not to mention the ratchet confrontation that happened while I was getting my nails done as Michelle cut her finger at some point from RUSHING and was bleeding on another client which caused her to stop the session and walk out. This is a brand new nail salon that has opened on 79 street and biscayne. It it located in a busy plaza with great parking. You walk in and the place is huge. There is a reception desk for checking in and out. On the right is the drying station with comfortable purple chairs. Straight ahead there are the nail stations, there is about 20 of them. Behind the reception desk, is the pedicure sections. The wall is filled with stone river Rock and you just feel like you are in a spa! All the pedicure desks are new. I love the fact that each pedicure tub has a plastic cover which they change after every client. Makes me feel like it is more sanitary. They offer different type of packages which if you feel like spoiling yourself a bit more you can! Now the problem of the salon is MICHELLE! She is the owner and is so rude and belittling to her staff. You can tell she is a new business owner and has never been a manager before. She is reprimands the staff in front of customers she screams at them and puts her hands in their faces. How disrespectful. As a customer I go there to relax and diffuse but on several occasions I have witnessed this which pisses me off. Every two weeks I go there are new nail techs, because she can't keep anyone. I only go for Kianni I have followed her for the past 3 years and she is detailed and amazing. Maybe if there was a different owner it would be better. *PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING TO THIS SALON* I have been a client here a few times with some good results and some not so good results. I've come to this place because it is conveniently located and cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for. I came in the Friday before Halloween for a manicure and pedicure. Twice I noticed that the worker nicked my skin while cutting my toenails. As soon as i got home, I took a shower. Later that night, those toes that were cut were swollen and hurting. The next morning they were extremely painful and oozing. I definitely caught an infection from the salon. I treated the nails with triple antibiotics and bandaids. Fast forward a week and they are almost healed, however at the expense of my nail. Pictured is my nail that completely died and I had to cut off because of the infection I contracted. The other effected nail is not shown because it didn't effect the whole nail enough to fall all the way off. I caution anyone who is considering choosing this salon. Please keep yourself safe and go to a better, cleaner salon!!! *Update* The second nail on my other foot has fallen off as well. Let me start by saying I do not come to this salon typically but my nail tech isn't available Monday's so I came here to remove a broken nail. My acrylic nail was cracked ON my nail bed so I wanted to get it removed as gently as possibly because as you can imagine it was very painful. Before I could finish explaining how I would prefer my nail to be removed, Michelle takes clippers and quickly (AND SLOPPILY) clips so close to my nail bed that she CUTS MY SKIN OPEN. I show her and she says "no that's from the crack in your nail bed". And it takes a few minutes to show and convince her that SHE DID IT. I should have left at this point but I let her use the drill to begin thinning the acrylic nail. She's not paying attention while she does it and the cracked area of my nail gets caught in the drill and almost flips completely off. MY REAL NAIL. At this point I'm completely disgusted and upset and a) she does not apologize at any point and b) continues to tell me that what she has done is the only thing she could have done to fix it. Was then finally helped and they took me to the pedicure station and filled the water up and then it took no joke about 25 min for someone to come and actually start the pedicure . Water was cold btw . I was trying to stay optimistic and then while getting my mani I got cut and my finger was bleeding the rest of the time . Ugh where do i begin. I really hate leaving such a negative review because the nail technician was a great, nice girl and very helpful in the situation but it was such a bad experience, i cant help to feel obligated to make sure it never happens to another set of nails! As this story goes, i went to get my nails done with only an hour to spare. I wanted a particular set of colored acrylic nails in which i showed the "owner" and she immediately knew which color. She grabbed the color and pointed me to a nail tech. Excited to get started, I had a great experience so far. However, it slowly turned for the worst, when the owner was reviewing the nail tech work and kept saying that it was " bad work, not very good , don't learn from this girl." Confused, i couldn't help but think why would she say that in front of a customer? but also, am i getting bad nails and she isn't doing anything about it? Instead, the nail tech started arguing and telling her to go away! At this point, i already had acrylic on my nails and couldn't do anything about it except continue. But then when the nails were drying, It was a completely DIFFERENT color than what i asked for. I was fed up with the service and quality that i had to argue for a Free gel color because the nail were hideous. Even after the paint, there was no way to salvage what was done. Some nails are shorter than the rest, you can see through the paint and less than a week later, the nails are chipping! I am no nail expert, so my standards are not the highest. However, this experience has left such bad taste that its unfortunate i will never go back. I came here 2 weeks ago for a mani/pedi and wasn't greeted right away and sat down within minutes for my pedicure. The lady did a good job, no complaints. Another woman did my mani (Michelle). She was all over the place. Doing eyelashes, checking on other clients, basically not paying attention to me at all. My manicure was done in less than 15 min. No hand massage, no attention to detail, it sucked. I came back to try this place out again. I was greeted right away, picked my color and sat at the chair for my pedicure. I have been sitting here, feet in the water for almost 18 min now. It's taking everything inside of me not to walk out. The nail techs doing the girls next to me are bs'ing and haven't even acknowledged the fact that a customer has been here for this long. Finally, I'm greeted by a guy who immediately I'm very happy is walking up to service me (I love the Asians, mostly everyone else who works here is Hispanic). I started coming here because it's next to my gym. The first time I came I had the female owner do my nails and she was great. The place is huge, plenty of parking and I like the nail packages they offer. The male manager is a hoot. We always have a good chat of funny banter back and forth. I now have a regular nail tech who I love, Henry, he is fantastic. I run on the beach and my feet are in horrible shape but he makes them look like they belong to women again.
