Absolutely enchanting experience. Warm and welcoming. The outside dining is charming and I had a crazy delicious seafood tagine perfectly complemented by excellent crisp Sauvignon Blanc. The crusty French bread was served with authentic rich French butter. The French beet salad with lentils was a classic, bistro-style dish that perfectly balances the earthy sweetness of beets with the peppery bite of firm French green lentils and there was also fennel and rich yummy cheese. A charming, quaint restaurant with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and very attentive service. I enjoyed a white Bordeaux served at the perfect temperature--crisp and refreshing. The escargots arrived hot, buttery, and absolutely delicious. The Assiette de Fromages was also excellent, though I would have appreciated a bit more toast alongside it. 2 of us were able to make same day reservations for a Sunday early evening dinner. SERVICE: Andreana was our server for the evening. She was friendly, attentive and pleasant when we asked to move our table to one a little farther away from the greenery, where a few no-see-ums were pesky. Our water glasses were frequently topped off and it was refreshing to be able to order apps without having to order the entree at the same time. She even brought us cushions as the chairs are a bit deep. BAR: Cosmo was well made, average size, pricey at $22.50. House white was an average pour, reasonable for $12. FOOD: The chicken liver was tasty and cooked perfectly. The onion soup was just ok, $16. It was a bit bland, but the biggest issue was the size and toughness of some of the onions. They were the outer part of the onion and were larger than typical in onion soup. The cheese was flavorful. I would have preferred a half portion, as the app size is huge and soup isn't an app that is easily shared. The Boeuf Bourguignon was flavorful and tender, but again, way too much of it. The accompaniment was scallop potatoes. I'd recommend mashed to make use of the yummy gravy in the bowl. The Veggies were bright and tender, but served in a bowl so challenging to cut up. ATMOSPHERE: It is pretty seating outdoors. The piano player was a really nice touch, adding to the charm. There are no-see-ums, so if you are someone who they seem to target, I'd recommend some type of bug repellent if you are going to sit indoors. read more

The food is just as good as we remembered from last time, but the service seemed much slower. I know they make everything to order but so do a lot of great places. It took over an hour for our entrees to come out (after our apps). They are taking the French style of 3 hour meals very seriously here it seems. If I was hangry, it would have been bad! Also wanted to note that they expanded their outdoor seating to accommodate more diners wary about eating inside. They have large windows that really open the outside wall to the restaurant nicely to allow for more airflow. HOWEVER, there was not a mask in sight, except for my party and 1 other two top. The servers, hostess / owners or (wonderful) pianist did not have them. We did not ask any of the staff to put on masks so I can't speak to their "no mask" policy other have mentioned, but this place certainly seems to fit the bill. read more

After reading reviews and being referred by close friends, we decided to go to Chez Boet while we were in Naples. After I dropped my wife and 5 kids off (age ranging from 9 months to 13) I got out to see the owner Philippe screaming the "f" word and waiving his hand at my wife and 5 kids. They were mortified and my 5 year old daughter trembled and cried the remainder of the evening. The food could be great but I can't support the lack of integrity and character of the owner. I was really looking forward to trying out this restaurant as we heard good things but sadly it was one of the worst dining experiences of my life! We had a family dinner, including our 87 year old grandma. We had an early reservation and were one of the few first people at the restaurant when we sat down. After waiting for 20minutes for our server to come and take our drink order, we finally ordered drinks and had to wait another 15minutes to get cocktails that weren't even what we ordered because the bartender can't even make a martini at this place. After 2 hours of waiting we asked our server about the status of our food, only to be told by the owner herself that tables of 6 people take over 2.5 Hours to be served because everything is prepared fresh. (I have been to many high-end restaurants that cook fresh food for larger groups and I have never had to wait over 2.5 hours for my food) Finally, they brought our food out and the petit filets we ordered were completely overcooked and tasted like hamburger meat. We politely made them aware that the steaks were overcooked but we mentioned that we were not going to return them because at this point we were just starving. The arrogant owner refused to admit that they overcooked the steaks and had the nerve to tell us that we were wrong (We ordered Medium and what you see in the picture is what we got) Needless to say I will never return to this restaurant and I recommend the owner to change careers, since she simply doesn't have what it takes to work in the hospitality industry. This was always our favorite French restaurant in Naples. However, our last visit was not the best experience. We were directed to a tiny two person table with the booth against the wall. You could hardly fit between the tables to get to the seat, the tables are so close together, let alone have a private conversation. We asked to be moved to a table in the middle of the restaurant, to which they reluctantly obliged. There were many tables open at 7:30 PM. After waiting about 10 minutes we asked if we could order drinks and dinner. There was some confusion about who was assigned to our table. They brought out the wrong dinners and acted like that's what we ordered, questioning us, but then delivered the same plates, correctly to a couple two tables away. After delivering our correct dinner, our waitress noted that the owner (Lisa) told her we were not happy. She then asked us what the problem was. WTH? Wasn't the evening we were hoping for... Made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. Sounds like the owners have some issues if you question anything, based on some other reviews. Maybe they need a LONG vacation. read more

I am very fond of this restaurant as the food and ambiance always deliver BUT we had reservations to dine and we walked out. Naples currently has a mask mandate and of all the places we went over a two week period, most had servers and staff wearing masks and at least going through some motions of Covid due diligence . At this restaurant, there was not a mask to be found on either the guests or the staff - this included the hostess and bartender - or the staff in the kitchen. The restaurant was full with no social distancing although that is not a requirement. There is a difference between being cavalier and arrogant regarding Covid prevention and this experience showed that they leaned to the latter. Don't misread - it's a great place to eat but unless you have immunity or just don't believe we are in the midst of a pandemic, there are far safer options in Naples. Mediocre food, very overrated. The boeuf bourguignon was terrible. Needed salt. The pieces of meat were half just lumps of fat. It wasn't just bad- I couldn't eat it. When we sent it back, the owner said "it's you"... and then was discussing us loudly with the staff. She laughs and tries to act friendly but the actual words she says are very rude and weird. Geez Boet has been one of our favorite restaurants in Naples. Not on our last visit. All of our portions were meager. And I mean small. The pork chop was maybe 5 oz. And loaded with fat. The snapper was also bite size. The "special" steak at $68 was also small. They were out of several things on the menu that we were going to order. Not sure what is going on. We were extremely shocked and upset by our experience. Horrible service and attitude. It took 50 minutes for the waiter to take our order after asking another waiter and the owner to have our order taken because we couldn't find our waiter. When we spoke to the owner she said it was because we didn't order appetizers so it takes longer for the food to come. We explained we've been in the restaurant industry and how this isn't a factor in backing up the kitchen. We let them know we were waiting a long time. We suggested they offer a free glass of wine or a coffee for the time we waited and were frustrated and she was extremely defensive and rude. The owner's husband came and tried sweet talking in his tacky checkered suit and boots. He then brings up our wait time and we explained calmly our experience and he repeated what his wife said. He reacted in a very defensive and hostile way and said we shouldn't ask for a gesture for our time because it costs him money and he doesn't need our business. We almost felt like they were going to fight us. We said we wouldn't come back and he told us never to come back and told us we weren't classy and stormed off. Very rude and should have thicker skin and a more commercial attitude if you're in this business. read more

This is my third review because I truly love this restaurant. If they have the cassoulet special when you go, do it. It is probably the best I've had - and I've been all over France. Excellent food. Always. On another note, I read through several reviews that mentioned the lack of social distancing and no mask protection at this restaurant. That was also our experience. Unfortunately, while the county mandates ta mask policy, the city of Naples chose to make business participation recommended and voluntary. Which means it is is disappointing to us as frequent diners as Covid rates in south Florida remain quite high. But, much as the restaurant has the right to decide what is best for their business, diners have the option to decide whether or not to take the risk. It is the world in which we currently live. We are continuously evaluating this big picture as to how we govern ourselves and very much look forward to returning when life returns to a more normal place. We had an early dinner last evening , the restaurant was nearly empty. The ambiance and the staff was polite, cordial and very efficient. I've eaten there before and very satisfied but last night was a disappointment. My lady friend was very pleased with her dinner but mine was not what I expected. I love rack of lamb and ordered it medium rare. It was far from a rack, two little chops, not medium rare but well done. The rack of lamb was a disappointment, the portion and its temperature. My dinner should not have been presented to me. The piano player and desert made up for my entree. We walked out of Chez Boet before ordering tonight and that's the last time I'll ever walk in. I reserved a table outside and the waiter came to the table with no mask. When asked if he would please put on a mask, he told us that the management or owners had a "no mask" rule for their employees. Seriously. I can see a "you don't have to if you don't want to" rule, but when a full table of people asks a server to please wear a mask and he flat refuses, it's time for me to leave. Other people say they won't go back here until the pandemic is over - I'll never go back to a place that doesn't respect their customers. I had dinner there this past Saturday. Food and service are really great. For me one of the best restaurants in Naples (second time there in the space of two and half years and it keeps the same consistency). However, neither the owners and the waiters wore face masks. It was so weird on these days of COVID-19 and it didn't make me comfortable. I recommend that they change this basic safety procedure and don't put their patrons at a potential health risk.
