I have no words. If you don't understand how French and Vietnamese work together than you haven't been here. Everything here is perfect. From the wait staff to the kind chef ( shoutout my boy chef jack) to the decoration. It's such a beautiful and intentional place. All the flowers are REAL. That's so rare for restaurants today. The food? I'll never be able to get over it. The blend of flavors is perfect. My boyfriend who has never tried tuna tar tar loved it. We tried so many wonderful dishes. The chicken curry reminded me of my childhood, but was even better. The food is cooked with passion and purpose. The drinks? Holy cow they are GOOD. Not so strong you taste t straight alcohol but they get the job done. Just when you think the food can't get better out comes dessert. WOW. The chocolate cake was a show and beignets were perfect. Service and ambiance were delightful as were starters, but a bit disappointed on entrees. Loved the crispy shrimp and pork rolls and ribs. Duck entree missed. Yes it was a perfectly cooked breast and while I was not expecting Peking style the presentation was a wanna-bee without pizzazz. Sea bass very good. Grilled eggplant excellent as was the fried rice. Surprisingly for a restaurant of this caliber they "ran out" of three wines by the glass. Sorry, if you are pretentious enough to have a sommelier the. This was our first visit to this Le Colonial restaurant, although we have previously been to the locations in Chicago and San Francisco. For starters, the decor and milieu are gorgeous, very tropical and elegant. The menu is very large, with small plates and entrées, all Asian fusion. We had chicken dumplings start, then shared the sea bass and fried rice - all excellent. The service was world - class. The cocktails were great and the wine list was extensive. I decided to book Le Colonial for my husbands birthday, and told the restaurant about this. unlike Trulucks, Capital Grille et al who acknowledge such an occasion, this restaurant did nothing bar a tiny candle on the saucer of the coffee my husband ordered. The restaurant is beautiful. Just terrific looking. We were seated at least 10 minutes before a server approached, feeling invisable. She immediately told us she wasn't given a ticket, so..... What does that mean?? Is that my fault?? This is an upscale restaurant, I was not expecting to worry about ticket distribution to get served. We got an appetizer with egg rolls rolled in lettuce that was fantastic and some dumplings. I asked for hot chili sauce and was met with blank stares. Then eventually I was told it was hot but yes they had it. Just these strange communications. Wife had shaking beef which was good. I got chicken stir fry. Pretty good. Overall i liked it but the total cost including tip was $193. Seemed like a lot. This should really be 3.5 I think but the ambiance and decor push it up a little. read more

Outdoor ambiance is great! There are a handful of unappealing seats but overall it's a great space. We go here semi regularly and they are about 80% consistent. Every now and then we'll get an off night. The shaking beef is excellent and the chicken dumplings flavor is well balanced with a perfect sear on one side. They give you black vinegar on the plate, but it could use a dipping sauce or a side of black vinegar. We tried a new desert that has no mention online so I thought I'd post it in case someone is curious . It is called Pandan Noir and it isn't really described well. They told me it was like white chocolate, but it is not. It has very mild flavors, more like flan than chocolate. The top "crown" is a slightly caramelized black sesame, that tastes similar to a mild toffee. I would recommend trying it because it is different and interesting and it is good/ not great but good. We had been wanting to try le colonial for a while and decided to save it for a special occasion. Our 24th wedding anniversary. We did make reservations and requested the lounge area. We ended up sitting at the bar which is always our preference. The decor is warm and inviting. Laura and a young man from Colombia whose name escapes me now, were our bartenders. I will say that from the moment we were greeted at the hostess stand the service was great! There was a fan over our seats at the bar that was on very high-speed and it was making it very cold, they immediately adjusted it upon request. We had the chicken and mushroom ravioli, which is absolutely full of all sorts of flavor and made with thin rice paper. We had the dumplings and the fried rice, which were also wonderfully delicious. For cocktails I had the French kiss and my husband had the smoked old-fashioned. Both were well made. This was our second visit to Le Colonial Naples. It is a lovely setting and the service and food were outstanding on our recent visit. We love the ambiance here. Even though it is currently off-season in Naples, I didn't want to take the chance of showing up without reservations. I am glad we did, because they were pretty busy when we arrived and I did not see many open tables. Hubby and I both skipped appetizers and just went for the main course. He got the spicy chicken stir fry which was served with jasmine rice. The stir fry included sweet onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, lemongrass, jalapeño, and Thai basil. I tasted his and it was very flavorful and was cooked just right. I decided to try the chicken curry this time and it did not disappoint! The chicken & veggies (green beans, yams, Japanese eggplant, mango and toasted cashews) were perfectly simmered in a Yellow Coconut Curry sauce and served with Jasmine Rice. Perfection! Went for lunch and had their prix fixe menu. The service is very professional, and spot on and their patio is lovely. The dumplings were wonderful, tasty with just the right amount of sauce. The beef stir fry was delicious, a tiny bit heavy on onions but it didn't detract from the flavor. This is my third Le Colonial location in the last decade. With the others being San Francisco and Chicago. While I'm ecstatic to see elevated Asian cuisine (specifically Vietnamese) in the heart of Naples. Some of the items feel like failed attempts. Many of the dishes are overpriced for the portion you receive. This was our first time having lunch. It was over $100 a person at $460+ for the items sele below. Drinks - le colonial rose was good as were the various (pricey) cocktails we tried Apps - egg rolls (tasty), lotus salad, beef carpaccio, ravioli Entrees - shaking beef (portion size was definitely disappointing...as someone else noted, it's more like a salad than an entree), chicken curry (on the sweeter side but enjoyable) Sides - garlic noodles (little too sweet and overcooked noodles), garlic green beans (disappointing, not much flavor) Service was very pleasant but quite slow at times. I'm stunned this place is 4.1/5 and not higher. My partner and I chose Le Colonial because we saw the atmosphere looked top-notch for dinner and we figured French Vietnamese food would taste delicious. Our server recommended four of the appetizers o the left of the menu, the tuna tartare, the sea bass, the duck special, the yellow curry on the left page, and some other things I've forgotten. We ordered the shaking beef as our entree. Someone mentioned it was more like a glorified steak salad, to which I agree, but was still super delicious. We enjoyed the tuna tartare as an appetizer with a Vietnamese twist to it. It has soy caviar and lemongrass. The flavors were very enjoyable. We're from the Fort Lauderdale / Miami side of Florida, and we WISH we had food like this at this pricing closer to us. My partner says he'd rate it a 4.5/5. I'd rate Le Colonial as the same or higher. Tip: check the dress code if you're going to sit inside like we did, and bring a light sweater. read more

I'm glad to be the second person to review this restaurant. As a French-American who love Vietnamese food, I was not disappointed. We were extremely well received, not a surprised as I believe I recognized few staff from Rebecca's Wine Bar, so good management. The restaurant ambiance, design and interior looks amazing. Like an old French-Vietnamese brasserie. I recently went to Singapore and one restaurant was exactly in this type of details and I loved it too. The waiter from Serbia, Chad is excellent and made the experience elevated. On the culinary side, the papaya salad and the pork rolls were traditionally hand made and tasty. The grilled red snapper was just amazing and I will come back 100 times just for it. It's market price but so good and prepared. The cooking is excellent and more on the lemon side so like Laos/Thai/Vietnamese and it succulent. Overall, it's probably one of the nicest restaurant on 5th avenue. The pricing point is still high but good enough. I will come back to try the sea bass and the duck. read more

The tuna tartare was probably the best I have ever had and the beef ravioli was amazing and unique as well! For dinner, I had the seabass, and my boyfriend had the beef stir fry. The seabass was amazing, perfectly crispy and the sauce was to die for. The beef stir fry was delicious as well, spicy and tender. The only reason for 3 stars as opposed to 4 or 5 is the size of my fish. For $46, you could imagine the fish would be enough for a meal. Unfortunately, I feel like I took maybe 6-8 bites and was finished. It was a little disappointing because it was amazing. On the other hand the beef stir fry was a great portion size. Le Colonia is a true 5 star restaurant experience in downtown Naples. The atmosphere is stunning, and you truly feel like you were just transported to another place when you walk through the door. A place you don't want to ever leave. We went to Le Colonial to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time, but in exchange we were treated like royalty by the manager and staff. We also had the opportunity to relax at the bar and sample some of the bartender's great craft cocktails. For dinner, we each had an appetizer and then shared 3 entrees. The standout dishes were, well everything. The mixture of ingredients and flavors is different and delicious. But if forced to choose, I'd say both the crispy and fresh spring rolls, the pan seared chicken dumplings, the halibut a la vong, the grilled Branzino, and the green beans. If you're trying to impress someone, definitely take them here for dinner or just drinks at the bar. It's truly a special place. read more
