This is an awesome Mexican Restaurant the staff was on the ball and very nice. We are using Kanab as a home base on our vacation to see the many sites In this beautiful area. Every time we passed this restaurant it was packed. But it is very small it looks like it only seats about 40. They do have a large covered patio out front but really when it's over 100 outside who wants to eat on the patio even when it is covered. So we waited for a table it didn't take to long. But as a side note when you are sitting a booth by yourself and there is a line out the door waiting for a table. Don't sit there and read your damn book after you have finished . It is so rude. If you are in town and love Mexican food this is the place. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it says on their website they open at 11:00 they don't they open at 12:00. There were several tourists like us who were there at 11 and were quite upset because of this as were we. They waited an hour we did not . We had a few small errands to run so we did that retuned at 12:10 the place was full and a line out the door. They really should open at 11 at least during the summer . Had lunch here today. When traveling I love to eat at the local places, if it looks like an interesting hole in the wall, I'm there. This place fit the bill. As others have mentioned, the salsa they bring out with chips to get you started is VERY good. And yes, you don't get refills though you can order another round off the menu. The boss lady ordered a beef enchilada, I ordered a beef burrito. They both come with the standard rice and beans. The orders arrived after nearly twenty minutes, this was rather odd since only two other customers were in the place. I'd comment on my burrito but unfortunately, we were both served beef enchiladas. Since I was now quite hungry, rather than wait for the proper order, I ate the enchilada. The beef was a little scarce but it was pretty tasty, spiced nicely and quite tender. Unfortunately, the enchilada sauce was very bland, it tasted like maybe it was canned tomato sauce with a dash of cayenne pepper added at the end. Bottom line, if you're traveling this is very filling and serviceable cheap eats, but I doubt this place has anything that would make you wish they'd build one in your hometown. read more

Excellent food! Returning from Powell and stopped in for yummy lunch. I had 1/2 Colorado Chile and 1/2 Chile Verde with fresh tortillas, others had carne aside burrito enchilada style and fish tacos with nice sized tilapia filet. Chips and salsa. Our family really enjoyed our dinner here. We had a group of 15 people and we did have to wait about 30 minutes to get tables but we were all glad we waited. When we were on our way to the Grand Canyon to Zion, I decided to spend the night in this town. I looked at reviews of restaurants, and I decided to eat here. The restaurant is popular, and we got one of the last tables. The waitress was nice, and the service was quick. I ordered the enchilada/tostada/taco combo, and it was delicious. Nice little Mexican restaurant with reasonable prices. The food was more authentic than I expected, given that it is in a small Southern Utah town. Chips and salsa were good, although a bigger portion of both would have been great while we were waiting for our food. The service was friendly and reasonably fast. My girlfriend and I stopped here on our road trip for dinner en route to the North Rim of Grand Canyon (about 1.5 hours away from here). We were both extremely impressed with this place, food-wise and service-wise, and we have had great Mexican food, being from Southern California. The chips and salsa were some of the best I've ever had, fatty but crunchy and great. I had 3 enchiladas - one carnitas, one cheese, and one shredded beef, and each one of them was amazing. The rice was OK, but the beans were also very tasty. My girlfriend had three cheese enchiladas, and she also loved her food. Also, considering the price, this was truly amazing - total bill was 21.50! Of course we left a good tip, but I would strongly recommend this place to anybody who wants some good, authentic, Mexican food! read more

Amazing food. Really friendly service. Even the chips and salsa were addictive. We stopped here on our way to one of the nearby Nat Parks in September 2013, and it was such a positive experience we went back 4 days later (detouring out of the way) just to get lunch there again. Went while visiting arches national park. Went for a late linch on a Saturday in winter so there were only a few other people there. Service was great, quick and attentive. We travelled for 3 weeks in an old 87 motor home and LOVE authentic Mexican food! We stayed in Kanab , Utah and searched reviews. A few of my our first choices for other cuisines were not open, which was unusual to us on a Tuesday. We settled on Escobar's. We were placed at our table within 5 minutes on the patio, which was pleasant! The food was good, (MUCH better than we find in Montana but not as authentic as Cali! ). As stated in previous reviews, service was slow and we had 4 different people serve our table of 2, so we didn't really know who to reach out to. There was a young blond server that seemed to be trying to keep all the tables together and was very helpful. We were there during the first week of Sept of 2019 so props to her! Problem seems to be with management and service. We don't like to slam a business on a one-time experience, and after a long day of driving, we had a pleasant dinner. read more

Absolutely a very flavorful Mexican experience. The only down side is that it is not as spicy as I would like. I believe it is probably pretty difficult to get the spice right in a tourist town so it is totally something I could overlook, nothing a little extra hot sauce can't cure. My friend and I stayed in Kanab while we visited Zion and Bryce and were in need of hearty fare after long days of hiking. We ended up eating here twice during our stay and probably would have eaten here three times had it not been closed (oddly) on Saturday.
