Are you trying to tell me that there is a conceivable difference between "chocolate banana" and "chocolate covered banana"? No matter which flavor you get, it's very hard to taste. Stopped by at 9:30 tonight on our way home from dinner in Bristol. When we walked up to the window I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of soft serve flavors... I'm still not sure how they have like 6,000 kinda but I'm assuming it must be like flavor drops or something. I opted to go with a coffee twist in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. It was perfect! I really enjoyed the chocolate on the cone and thought it was perfect with the coffee ice cream. It's good to be King. After many times driving by Eskimo King during dark winter nights making various deliveries for my old job and going on Sip N Dip runs, I got to experience the glory of an Eskimo King cone. As it had never been open when I roared on by, I figured it was simply a DQ reminiscent soft serve joint. Boy, was I wrong. Pulled up fairly late into the evening on Sunday, there were 2 longs lines out of each window. A parking lot that easily was 3x the size of the building. A play ground, 2 seating areas. What exactly were we getting ourselves into, all we wanted was some soft serve! Then we see the flavor board. Over 300 flavors. And custom combos are a possibility as well. A large list of sundaes was on the wall as well, ranging from rice krispies sundaes to ones with cracker jacks, and your standard banana splits. Pumpkin Cheesecake was the choice of the evening. If you like soft serve ice cream and are looking for over 300 hundred flavors of it, then Eskimo King is your heaven. The flavors are as unique as you could imagine. Some of the flavors I saw were tequila, cheesecake flavors, mojito flavors, snickers, Reese's, chocolate-marshmallow, and fluffernutter (peanut butter and fluff). I have never been to Eskimo King before and I got there one minute before it closed. I figured the staff was going to be upset and rude with me, but they were so welcoming and very pleased to serve me. From the beginning the large list of flavors can be very overwhelming, but eventually you make your way through the list to find the flavor to satisfy your craving. Also, if you don't see anything on the list that jumps out at you, you can even make up your own combination of flavors for an extra $0.40. Eskimo King also has an extensive list of Sundae combinations you can choose from that range from a Bears in Hiding Sundae or chocolate ice cream with hot fudge, Oreo cookies, gummy bears, whipped cream, and a cherry. All the way to a Peanut Butter and Jelly Lover's Sundae. They also have 27 flavors of hard ice cream flavors. The area has its own moderate sized parking lot that is easy to get too. There are three windows to order from, which I'm sure would help during peak hours. The prices aren't too crazy a kids size which is still a good amount of ice cream is $1.95 and a medium is around $2.50, they also have larges which ran to about $3.00. Eskimo King also has three flavors of dip for your ice cream in chocolate, cherry, and caramel. These also cost extra, and there are also various topping you would find at any ice cream spot, and they have milk shakes! The ice cream flavor I chose was chocolate-marshmallow and it was very tasty. I would recommend this flavor 10/10 times. This might be the best ice cream I've ever had in my life, I love soft serve ice cream and if you do too then Eskimo King is the place you need to go too. read more

I've only been to Eskimo King one time and I already talk about it to everyone. IT'S SO GOOD. There is an overwhelming menu of over 300 soft serve flavors. This is a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because you can find something for everyone and I mean everyone. They have flavors like chocolate chip cookie dough (which is what I got) to flavors like Watermelon. There's flavors for the chocolate lovers and the fruit lovers. It's a curse because there are so many to choose from and it's hard when your indecisive.I recommend checking out their menu through the pictures on Yelp to figure out what you want first (or at least an idea of what you want) because it can be VERY overwhelming. Also, the chocolate dip is soooo good! It's adds a little crunch to any soft serve flavor. The staff is super accommodating and patient. I'm sure they get it all of the time, but we pulled up 2 minutes before they were closing and the girl in the window told us to take our time as we informed her that this was our first time coming here. People even pulled up after 10:00 pm and they still served them with a smile. I'm sure that they weren't the happiest of employees, but the customers couldn't tell and that's what creates a great experience. It seemed like they really enjoyed their jobs. Parking is easy. They have a big lot that can fit a lot of cars and I can imagine on a hot summer day that Eskimo King is bumpin'. I bet they can handle the crowd with ease, as it seems like they have a lot of workers and a lot of different windows for lines. Eskimo king used to make all of their own ice cream, and they did it well. They also had good service and decent prices. I do not know what has changed, but they no longer make the majority of their own stuff, and if I wanted generic mass produced ice cream, I'd just go to Friendly's. This summer, they hit a new low. I purchased an ice cream cone for myself and an ice cream sundae for my mother, who is allergic to peanuts. I SPECIFICALLY requested no peanuts and stated that she had an allergy. Apparently the girl wasn't working, because my mother had a severe reaction and had to go to the hospital for difficulty breathing. When I called the manager to complain, she accused me of lying in order to get a free order. I then explained to her that I would soon be writing this review, and hung up the phone. I then received several VERY friendly voicemail messages from her apologizing for my experience. It never fails to amaze me when I receive rude service from management. I would recommend that you drive 10 minutes down the road to Somerset Creamery or to Grays in Tiverton for fresh, delicious homemade icecream and excellent service. read more

(Who says rich dessert has to be hard ice cream?!) Some folks like those fancy yogurt bars with tons of toppings (Yogurtland), but have you ever noticed that the quality/taste of yogurt at those places isn't that great? And you have to drown the taste of the yogurt out with all of those toppings? Eskimo King's soft serve is just plain good--no fancy toppings needed (although, they offer that, too!) I know they just get plain ole vanilla (or chocolate/vanilla swirl, or.. i don't know some other swirl) then add flavor extracts and voila! amazing ice cream flavors. They have a ton of sundae selections, freeze drinks, shakes, basically any frozen concoction you can think of they have. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! I looooooooove Eskimo King. There are other ice cream places in the Swansea/Seekonk area but this should be your go-to place for the best soft serve ice cream around. They have over 100 (200?) flavors to choose from and their toppings are just awesome. You can enjoy your ice cream in the car or they have a really nice shaded grassy area with chairs and tables. The teenage girls are friendly and the place looks spotless inside, all recipes for success. Tip - They have a list of "specialty sundaes" that go for approx. $6 because it's the large version of their sundaes. If you want one of those specialty sundaes but don't want a large just create the equivalent in their small sundae size. The last one I had was vanilla soft serve, cherry dip (I love the dip that hardens), marshmallow topping, whipped cream, nuts, cherry...oh man! read more

I've gotten the same thing here year after year however don't think that discounts me from writing a well qualified review. Forget those froufie gourmet ice cream places that charge you $15 for a lick of icy dairy treat. You can def get out of here for around $10 for 3 ice creams, full bellies, and smiles all around. Holy crap they give you a lot of delicious soft serve goodness. I'm not modest when it comes to dessert, and if I've eaten within the past 24 hours, I've discovered a kid sized vanilla with rainbow jimmies (I'm from RI, get over it) is plenty. The regular sized sends me over the edge but if that's your bag, I have mad respect for you. Word to the wise: go to the line in the front, that faces rte 136, not the one in the parking lot. This was a neat little find just on the other side of the state border. I'm always looking for ice cream around here so after I saw this place surface a few times on my yelp feed, we decided to give it a try. I think the first thing that will catch people's eyes is the fact that they have a billion and a half different flavors. They have soft serve and they have regular ice cream. Most of their various flavors come from different mixings. Some unusual, some your typical and some you wonder who would ever order that. For our first time there, we had a great experience! There were tons of people there on a weekday afternoon in the summer. They have a large parking lot so that was not an issue. As with most places that require people to make a decision, no one makes a decision until they have spent 5 min at the window and nevermind the fact that they stood in line for about 10 min. I myself went for the smores sundae which was pretty much chocolate with graham crackers sprinkled on vanilla ice cream. It was delicious though! My better half got the cake batter regular ice cream which was surprisingly tasty and not really what we had expected. They had swirls of chocolate and what I believe may even have been pieces of cake in there. It was nice and likely what I will get the next time I go. Before you leave, remember to pick up a frequent buyer card. It's too bad that they stamp based on the number of times you go and not the number of items you buy. Eskimo King - I want to write a good review - but I think you should be ashamed of your Club Card program - I have three children all under ten years old who every summer want to get a card with the hopes of getting all 11 stamps and the next one free - Last night the young girl at the window told my 8 year old daughter that she can only stamp one card per order - so what should I say to her younger brother and her when her 10 year old brother gets a stamp and they don't - Let;s do the math - if I buy a 3.00 dollar kid's ice cream that means I would spend 33.00 dollars at Eskimo king to get a free 3.00 dollar ice cream - now with three kids I'm spending almost $100.00 dollars to get $9.00 dollars worth of ice cream - and that's only a 3.00 dollar kid's ice cream imagine if I doubled that to a normal ice cream - I ask you - is that $9.00 dollars so important that you denied a child the chance to get her card stamped, My kids look forward to your ice cream stand every summer and now I have to explain to a child that she can't get a stamp on her card because of what ? I could eat ice cream daily... so I'm thankful most of these great ice cream places that I've been going to also have fat free frozen yogurt! This place has the Only 8, which is fantastic.. I recently treated myself to a Blizzard on a very hot day and I'm now addicted. I'll be devastated when they close for the winter! I tend to go to these places during the day, so never hit the long lines and waits like some people have mentioned, but even if I did, it would be worth it.. Not only are the ice cream treats delicious, but the service is excellent as well, the girls working there are always friendly and good customer service goes a long way with me. edited 9/1/2013- today was the first time I left Eskimo King unsatisfied. I'm not changing my rating.. yet.. but will if I go back and end up with the same employee and she acts just as stupid. I ordered something VERY simple.. she brings me the wrong flavor.. I tell her 'coffee ice cream, not chocolate' could have eaten it, but this is a weekly treat and I want what I want. She had already shown attitude when I had to repeat the order 3 times and then she asked if I wanted soft serve or hard ice cream. what I ordered is made with soft serve. then when I informed her that she'd gotten it wrong, she stalks off to re-make it with the right flavor ice cream and finally gets it right. This is after a 15 minute wait. Normally I don't mind the wait, and I always tip good.. but today it was too long of a wait for bad service. read more

Eskimo king has a ton of flavors but unfortunately some of them do not quite live up to their name. The almond cappuccino tasted like vanilla with almond extract and the green tea tasted like a delicious vanilla with just enough matcha for the green color but not the flavor. I think I'll go with more traditional flavors next time. The prices are very reasonable and the kid size was just enough to cure an ice cream craving on a hot summer day. Plenty of parking right by the store and there is a small playground with lawn chairs in a grassy field for customers to sit and enjoy.
