This is my all-time favorite ice cream place. I do not even live super close to here, but when I want a good ice cream, I will make the drive over. I now live on an island - and you bet that when I went off-island last week I requested that my dad stop here on the way home from Hyannis. My dad had to say yes; having worked in the ice cream industry in his youth, he knows a good cone when he sees one and Somerset Creamery tops his list as well. Embarrassingly, we got there 10 minutes before they opened. We camped in the parking lot. When it was time to go in, I already knew what I was getting. Chocolate mint ice cream in a waffle cone. First of all, it is the best ice cream flavor ever created. Chocolate and mint ice cream with Oreo cookie pieces. What else could you ask for?? And then their waffle cones and made fresh and they are oh so good. The service is always great, and they now take credit cards!! I cannot recommend this place enough. The only downside is that they do not have any dedicated seating, inside or outside. There are some planters of sorts that you can sit down on. Once I sat on one for three hours for a first date - can't say I recommend that. But if you want good ice cream, come here! (Yes, it is better than the Barn in my opinion). read more

I was excited to try this ice cream place as a recommendation from my friend who loves it. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy, but not super crowded with people who also wanted to enjoy some ice cream. This is a take-out only place and they just opened for the season, so there's no indoor seating. I got strawberry and butter crunch in a waffle cone. I really enjoyed the butter crunch with the bits of toffee candy in it. On the other hand, the strawberry was subpar to other strawberry ice creams I've had. The overall texture of the ice cream was creamy, but it lacked a strong strawberry flavor to it. The waffle cone was very thick and hard, but had a sturdy bottom, so no melting ice cream leaked out. They have a ton of different homemade flavors, so there's probably better flavors for you to try if you come here. read more

The Mint Chip ice cream was to absolutely die for i loved the cones as well they were delicious I recommend this place to anyone looking for cheaper delicious ice cream . The service was also pretty good. The guy taking my order messed up once but he felt bad, apologized and than proceeded to get my right order. If you go here during the high season there will be a line. There's a decent number of flavors to choose from. The line moves pretty quickly. The ice cream isn't the best I've ever had but it's pretty good. Parking lot can get a little hectic but there's plenty of space. read more

Somerset Creamery has been dishing out hand made great tasting ice cream since 1937. There's Free Parking & they have 2 locations. It's Cash only here but they do have an ATM inside the store. They have Home Made Ice Cream here along with Frappes, Ice Cream Sodas, Malteds, & Freezes. Check out the pictures on the wall from Back in the Day. When we went they had 33 selections of Ice Cream plus a Special Seasonal Flavor - Indian Pudding to choose from, plus 4 Frozen Yogurt Flavors & 3 Sherbet Selections. They have A Wide Variety for just about every taste. We got the Cranberry Bog & The Rum Raisin - an Old School Favorite. Solid 4 Stars for the Ice Cream. Very Tasty! I may be partial because I grew up always coming here for ice cream, but it truly is the best of the best. Always super fresh and creamy. No where else I've been ever compares. The freshly made waffle cones are a must if you enjoy them. I wonder if the waffle irons are still named Moe, Larry, and Curly? The prices are a bit higher than you would normally expect to pay, but for a fresh, homemade ice cream I think it's worth every penny to treat yourself to. Ice cream really hit the spot on this very hot day today. I got a bit of a tall order. A 3 scoop cone of blueberry pie, vanilla & bailey's irish cream. The Blueberry pie was the best of the three. Fresh blueberries were used. Vanilla was excellent. My only thing was the baileys wasn't irish creamy enough. There were just choco chips. (Maybe it was mis-scooped). But the counter guy that help us was friendly and pointed me into the right direction of what to her. The smell of fresh waffle cones hits you in the nose the moment you walk in. You definitely should opt for a cone, pretty darn tasty. We will be returning to try more flavors soon! read more

This is a great spot to grab a creamy homemade ice cream or shake. My favorite flavor of the season is orange pineapple! Amazing really refreshing and you don't feel like you've stuffed yourself with bad calories. There isn't any seating it's strictly get it and goooooo! There are a few benches or settings outside. It's pretty busy so don't be in a rush. The portions are ok. They could be a little bigger especially for the price.
