They offer up regular menu items as part of Restaurant Week, and the value is easily $60+ when you're paying $45 only. I like the food so much, I'd be interested in coming back again for full price as well as attempt the Modern. You get sourdough to start. I like the chewy texture. The crust wasn't too hard but I opted out due to teeth sensitivity. For the first course we got the summer squash and steak tartare. Summer squash didn't taste as refreshing as it sounds. Every bite is a little different and very busy in the mouth. I wouldn't say it's overwhelming though. The smoked trout and salmon roe made this dish more savory than I'd like. There's some Zaatar crumbles that stood out as a more unique flavor and texture. Steak tartare seems basic but I appreciated their seasoning and quality of the meat being so clean. I really like the sauce on top which was garlic forward, adding so much umami and brightness to this dish. The side of potatoes was also surprising for being so thick and super well fried with a beautiful crunchy crust on both sides. It was steaming hot when I first ate it and still hot (warmer than warm) by the time I finished the tartare. For the second course we got the sea bass and duck leg. The sea bass had a nice crust. I personally didn't like the beans in there. Clam broth in the description made us expect the dish to be a soupy dish, but it really only came out to be a thinner sauce situation. It was indeed quite savory. The duck leg was amazing. Even though it came with bone and all, I was able to get every last piece of meat off the bone with just fork and knife. That's how tender the meat was. I might argue it's the most tender duck I've ever had in my life. I also love the sauce/marinade/glaze over it because it perfectly wrapped around the whole leg without being too strong or heavy. The flavor reminds me a bit of earthy sweet soy sauce which totally gets brownie points from me. Inside was very flavorful while also maintaining the freshness and tenderness of the flesh. I don't care if they "just" sous-vide this, but I loved it. We actually got one two-course and one three-course option, because I was too full from breakfast to get another dessert. They were nice to allow the mix-n-match. The server gave us plates to share the dessert even though I didn't plan on eating more than a bite. We got the corn gelato which comes with peaches and brown butter hoping it would be a lighter dessert. Turns out it was quite sweet and intense. There was cake at the bottom too which added to the heaviness. The corn gelato was gentle at least. I got the melon lemonade. It's not too sweet and doesn't taste like lemon actually. It has honeydew, jasmine, and pandan. I will admit that I don't necessarily identify each element in it. I did like the subtle freshness to it, and I appreciate it not being sweet. I told my friend how I would love my room to smell like that.

My server Callie was great, very warm and pleasant. I wanted to ask her if she was a Game of Thrones fan and had ever heard Emilia Clarke do her "Callie from the Valley" American accent but I thought the better of it. I had the steak tartare to start, a new boudin blanc dish that they recently put on the main menu as my entree, and the blueberry cobbler sundae as dessert. All dishes were delicious. The crispy potatoes that came with the steak tartare were perfectly fried. The boudin blanc sausage was really tasty. I wish I had taken a picture of it. It came with polenta, shishito peppers, and a runny red sauce. The dessert was all right, though I expected more sweet blueberry sauce than it actually had. I like how they have floor to ceiling windows looking out into some sort of courtyard. The restrooms are gender neutral stalls with a brightly lit common area where the sinks are. The soap was a little runny and it was basic commercial liquid soap, not anything fancy. The seats are a little tight, but they look very nice and normal sized people should have no problem.

From the moment you enter the hushed ambiance of the gorgeously curated room, every single aspect of the new restaurant Marcel exudes thoughtful intentional design - From the fine tableware to the Sotheby's curated art pieces. All together the arrangement adds just the right amount of sophistication to the space. The menu honors such French classics as, Beef Tartare, Oysters, Foie gras, Escargots, Dover Sole meunière, and Duck Confit. The bread service, in and of itself, is beautifully presented, the baguette accompanied with its trio of butters makes quite an impression. In addition, the cocktails served are splendidly strong, whilst impressive to savor and sip. If you cannot save room for dessert, no worries, there is a sublime pâtisserie on the premises, where you can indulge your sweet tooth and take home your selection of treats. This is undoubtedly the best grilled cheese I have ever had. The bread is soft yet crisp, the mixture of Gruyère and cheddar is wonderful, and the fries are perfect. Luckily I was able to mooch off of my sister's grilled cheese, because I tried the breakfast club sandwich and wasn't as impressed with it. The top half of the brioche bun was hard and the avocado didn't seem completely ripe. The breakfast sandwich is a skip. Service was great and the outside patio was cute and cool on a hot day. Really enjoyable experience!

I spent 45 minutes enjoying a two-course breakfast and reading the Times on my iPad (which sat flat on the table, like a magazine) when a manager approached and informed me that "iPads and laptops are not permitted in the restaurant." I had been eating and reading in that same spot for the entirety of my meal, had done so the day prior, and during every visit before then. The manager confirmed this was a newly-instituted policy. I paid my bill, then canceled my reservation for the following day. While I'm mindful that laptops and other work setups may detract from the dining environment Café Luxembourg wishes to cultivate, my reading device was no more obtrusive than a folded newspaper. In fact, it was the manager's discourteous policy enforcement that detracted from the hospitable environment I once enjoyed at this restaurant. If a restaurant enforces unusual policies like this one, they should be stated in writing somewhere -- ideally in the reservation confirmation -- so diners are not caught unawares mid-meal.

The raw bar was ok, oysters ok but the lack of spoons for the vinegar and cocktail sauce was a bit unfortunate. Plenty of seafood forks, though. They also shared a few small sausages, apparently their specialty, they were not bad, but not incredibly flavorful. Almost tasted like too much liver or something in them. The lobster roll - we asked for them to cut it in the kitchen. Chef said no... gave us a knife. Ok, we did it a bit more messily. The charred leek though - that was top notch. Particularly with the warp around the lovely core, tasty and juicy, with a supremely good ravigote vinaigrette that was excellent with the bread (could've had a lot more of this - sour, tart and salty). Dover sole was cleanly fileted (no bones) and a little more crisp at the edge with a good butter lemon sauce. The dessert of a cherry chip ice cream was ok, but very tart. Profiterole was ok, imbalanced on the cream/chocolate and the pastry was less flaky/airy as was expected. Overall not bad, will be back to try more.

The room was elegant and spacious, with soft, ambient lighting. The menu was a four course Christmas menu that was a beautiful culinary journey of flavors. For our first course, we had the beet and chickory salad, with almonds, capers, raisins, and yogurt, and I had the king crab, daikon, burdock, carrots, and yuzu, which was topped with caviar. The other ingredients of the plate brought out the sweetness and freshness of the crab, and savory flavor of the caviar provided a lovely and delicate balance. For the second course, we had smoked gnocchi, white truffles fonduta, Swiss chard, and salisify; and I had seared sea scallops, cauliflower, Mandarin sauce, and caviar. The scallops were buttery and sat on a cream base, and sweetness of the Mandarian sauce and touches of caviar created a nice, full flavor pallette. For the third course, the restaurant offered an option to substitute the given options with a ribeye for two, which we chose. Our server was so attentive to our needs: I highlighted that my hubby needed the ribeye to be cooked well so that there was no red, and he intuitively had the chef only prepare half the ribeye that way and the other half medium, so that I could enjoy. All pieces of the ribeye were tender and flavorful, and the house and bordelaise sauces further enhanced the flavors of the meat. The final course was the dessert (they provided two): (1) guanaja buche de noel, raspberry jam, with whipped dark chocolate ganache; and (2) cranberry orange buche de noel, vanilla roulade, cranberry orange compote, with white chocolate cream. These desserts were a delightful completion of our meal. The jams were the stars of the show for each dessert, being the central flavor bursting through each. That said, the dark chocolate ganache was probably both of our favorite of the two, with a rich, sultry sweetness that complimented the jam. With dinner, we had a lovely, California Sauvignon Blanc that was light but fruity. The staff at Lex Yard was gracious, welcoming, and attentive, from the moment we entered, to coat check, and our wonderful server Kevin who handled us with care, we felt like we made the best choice for our Christmas experience. Lex Yard is a destination for tourists and locals alike. It is an experience like no other.

Fairly lowkey spot on a Monday night with not too many people. Service was very fast and friendly. You get complimentary butter and bread. Really good burger but the fries felt a bit lacking from a flavor/crunch perspective. Burger was about $38 which is a bit on the expensive end hence the 4/5 for value.

The cocktails and desserts were far more impressive than the appetizers and entree. Vanderbilt oysters were tasty but nothing to write home about--however, they were more worth the order than the torchietta. My brother enjoyed the lamb, which is a tricky protein to handle whereas I thought the duck confit was a bit too salty and heavy. The confit dish could have used more brightness and sweetness--the dijon was a nice punch but didn't do enough to balance the overall richness. I definitely think the dinner menu for the duck could be a better option. As for the dessert, the vacherin and cocoa sundae were both great--however, I may lean more towards the vacherin to cleanse your palate.
