It was in between lunch and dinner, yet we were able to get seated. The area we were sitting the chair I was sitting in got bumped a few times, due to spacing of back to back chairs, but the servers were aware and apologetic. Everyone did a fantastic job! The atmosphere was inviting. The cheeseburger and dessert were delicious.

Cute little French spot for a Sunday afternoon late lunch. We arrived a bit early but the host was able to seat us right away. I almost gave this place four stars bc the table was so tiny but!...this is NYC! and I forget that most restaurants have to be tiny. Our server was wonderful, who we teased looked like Steve Harrington from Stranger Things. Everything was delicious from French onion soup, to my steak, to the fries. They were the crispiest fries ever! Definitely would dine here again when in the area.

Stopped by for inbetween lunch and dinner. We had a cheese burger and grilled cheese sandwich. Both were excellent. Service was great - we were inbetween so we had 3 different servers as the others were done with their shift. Dessert was very good. Profiteroles. Restaurant was clean and bright. Will need to come back for dinner sometime. Heard their steak tartare is amazing.

Super cute French restaurant on the UWS. Came here for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance is very cozy and Parisian-- kinda wish the seating was better spaced out though, because it would was hard to get around the restaurant! - Moules frites: 9/10 (pretty good moules frites with a strong garlic flavor) Overall, I'd try to come back in the evening when the weather is good, so I can sit outside. Not a bad option when you're looking for a restaurant in the UWS.

We came here to have dinner last week & it was amazing! Excellent, super attentive service & super delicious foods! We ordered: 1) Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, 2) Frank Frites, 3) Steak Frites, 4) Pan Seared Branzino, 5) Chocolate chip cookies w/ vanilla ice cream, 6) Creme Brulee. Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail - WOW! We had no expectations w/ this, but the shrimps were so succulent, juicy and high quality. It was probably one of the best shrimps I have had in awhile. The dipping sauces (cocktail & mustard remoulade) they gave us elevated the shrimps even more + the shrimps itself were superb. Highly recommend to order this! We were sad that there was only 4 pieces only. Frank Frites w/ garlic butter & fries - Super delicious & they cooked it perfectly. Steak was well seasoned & when eaten w/ the garlic butter it was exceptional! Loved the fries as well as they were well seasoned. This place does an excellent steak! Highly recommended! Steak Frites w/ garlic butter & fries - Also super delicious & cooked to perfection. It was well seasoned & that garlic butter was crack. Fries were so delicious & seasoned well. Highly recommended! Pan Seared Branzino - The branzino was seasoned so well & seared to perfection. The cucumbers, green dressing, hummus & lemon yogurt elevated the branzino. I truly enjoyed this entree. My only compliant is that the portion was so small compared to the steak. I was still hungry. Chocolate chip cookies w/ vanilla ice cream - The chocolate chip cookies & vanilla ice cream was ok. I have eaten better. Creme Brulee - WOW! I highly recommend this dessert. It was one of the best creme brulee I have eaten & my friends also agreed. We all were shocked how fresh & delicious it was. Staff was excellent. Tons of seating inside & outdoor. This place can get very busy, so do make a reservation.

Adorable location and classic brunch spot. Went with a friend over late brunch and had no Rez.. only had to wait 20 minutes and were able to get a table. Definitely a busy location but service and food were both great. Enjoyed Benedict, buffalo dumplings, and egg sandwich. overall recommend

Wonderful little spot for lunch after amazing day in Central Park. Espresso martinis, shrimp cocktail, and staff were all exceptional.

We were going to a show at Beacon Theatre on a Friday night so decided to stop at Cafe Luxembourg. We arrived at around 5pm without a reservation but they were able to seat us. We timed it well as about 20 minutes after we arrived the place was completely full. We had never visited this restaurant before but the atmosphere was great and it felt like being in a bistro in France. We started with the Oysters, which were lovely and fresh. I then ordered the molues frites and my other half ordered the branzino. Both of us loved our dishes, the sauce with the mussels was so tasty and I highly recommend asking for some bread to mop the leftover sauce up. We decided to share the lemon meringue dessert, which had the perfect balance between lemon tartness and the sweetness of the meringue. Service was prompt without ever feeling rushed and our server was very attentive. Prices are a little high but given the area that is to be expected. There is nothing groundbreaking with this place, it's just classic food done well. We also shared a bottle of wine and our total bill, including tax and tip, was $260. A little expensive but to be expected for the area. We both agreed that if we had another show at the Beacon we would probably stop here again.

We felt like we were back in Paris! Same ambience and delicious food. Excellent service too.

I haven't been here for 20 years and today I realized what a mistake that has been! This is one of the original places TO BE in the early 90's and if it reminds you of Balthazar or Lucky Strike or Pastis it's because this used to be owned by Keith McNally and his now ex wife but now owner of this place now! I ordered the Luxembourg hamburger with cheddar and fries and my friends has the fish and chips and chicken salad ! The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was stellar just as it was 20 years ago! Please go visit this for breakfast lunch or dinner and definitely make a reservation! Run don't walk !

The food and ambiance were great, with a pleasant, old-school atmosphere. Came for a quick brunch with a friend. I had the Luxemburg burger with fries--solid and delicious! The fries were crispy, and a good-sized portion. My friend had the fish sandwich (the special of the day) and really enjoyed it. Wih its inviting atmosphere, attentive service, and flavorful dishes, this spot left a good impression. We'll definitely be back!

One of my favorite restaurants since I lived next door in the 1980s. Never a complaint - great food, service, and ambiance.

The fact that they now charge for a basket of bread is very disappointing. I'd thought a place like this would be above such pettiness.

Is the onion soup vegetarian?

No. It's made with veal stock.

What is the dress code for dinner?

You can wear anything you want. This is actually a neighborhood restaurant so casual is perfectly appropriate.

The energy is right there, hovering, but it never actually lands. It's giving "almost iconic" but not quite--like a party that never fully starts. And that's what gets me. Because this bar could EASILY be that spot. The kind people plan their week around. Where are the themed nights? Where's the drama? The chaos? Give me a reason to come back on a random Wednesday. Do a city-event tie-in, a holiday takeover, literally anything that makes it feel alive instead of just... existing. Because right now it feels like a missed opportunity wearing a cute outfit. BUT--let's talk about the one thing they absolutely did not fumble: the view. The VIEW??? Insane. Genuinely stunning. The kind of view that makes you pause mid-sentence and remember you're in New York and not just spiraling in your own life choices. It's carrying the entire experience on its back, respectfully. So yeah. I'd come back... but mostly for the view and the potential. If they ever decide to actually do something with this space? It could be dangerous (in a good way). Until then, it's vibes... just not fully realized ones.

The view is gorgeous and sweeping. The service is attentive and professional. The drinks are sophisticated. I ended up here because I saw a video about their gin and tonic. Sounds simple, but it's one of my favorite drinks, and I'm always looking for someone who can do it well. I ordered their "dear G&T" and it was a fruity, complex riff on my old favorite. I also got the foreign forage, "a bourbon smash with a mint zing." It was also a delicious take on a classic. They have several types of cocktails, all broken down by spirit and flavor profile. They also offer a lot of spirits made in New York State. They have cocktails with earthy notes, fruity notes, fancy martinis, and a section boasting limited edition and special spirits, if you're "feeling fancy" and wanna cough up 35 bucks instead of 20 or 25! They have a bar snacks menu (sliders, nuts, and the like). I had their thick cut fries and they were light, seasoned, and tasty. I couldn't stop eating them. Midtown or not, I highly recommend this spot, which also has a couple other locations, including Gramercy.
