So I see you're at the airport, where food is unhealthy/unappetizing, service is surly, and prices make you want to brown bag it. Not in Miami. Walk out of security, turn left, go past the pizza joint, and you'll find a miniature bar and an attached kitchen. Estefan's specializes in Cuban sandwiches. I have had several of their offerings and here are my recommendations: 1. Order fresh at the counter, not the pick-up stuff. The sandwiches take some time to make, but the quality is so much better. And the kitchen is not fast, so skip this place if you're really in a hurry. But you've got time, so order here and then cool your heels at the common seating to the right of Estefan's. 2. Their better dishes: Lechon flatbread (better than the sandwich), Medianoche sandwich, mojito (which you drink standing up like you're at an espresso bar) 3. Meals that I'd probably not get again: Cuban Sandwich (not bad, but it's nothing special), Turkey Sandwich. Be warned, this is expensive compared to most other places in the airport, but better than most. The place isn't perfect, but it gets fair share of my patronage when I roll through MIA. read more

This place made me want to go to the full restaurant. The food was just waS I was looking for. I had a long flight, so I had a large order: Cuban sandwich, chicken empanada, and crema/ guaca empanada. The one thing I wouldn't get again was the sweet empanada. The cream was too cream cheese-y for me. The Cuban was perfect, but definitely better warm. It is rather large and would be sufficient for a quick bite to eat. Lastly the chicken empanada, i wish I would've ate this right away and got another one. It was also an large empanada and full of chicken! The lady who helped me was so nice! I'm a South Florida-raised Cuban American, so I set my expectations low, despite the Estefan name -- they are Cuban royalty, but it's the airport, after all. Well, I think Gloria must be in the back taste-testing the sandwiches herself, because the Classic Cuban was a winner - super authentic down to the last ingredient. They use real Cuban bread which is an important but often overlooked element. The colada was also expertly sweetened and the service was fast and friendly -- and they have a full bar for that last-minute Cuba Libre before your flight. Props to the Estefans for doing it right. Pro tip: don't order something weird like the chicken bowl -- stick with the classics. read more

So many mixed feelings about this place. The location is great. It's easy to park. The taste of the food is fantastic. The ambiance it's good. The service was weird. We had a reservation for 5:30 we tried to get a later reservation but we were told that it was booked. The restaurant was empty all the way until we left at 8:30. I don't see why they said that we could not have a later reservation. It took 30 minutes for us to get the drink order. The way the appetizers came out was disorganized. The food runner did not know which table had order the food and often times we were asked if we had order a dish that was for another table. 20 minutes after we had finished our appetizers we needed up ordering our main course. The waitress was not visible or attentive. Although she was friendly, the experience was not one that is expected at a high end restaurant. It was more like eating at "la carreta" in calle 8. What a wonderful Cuban flavored alternative to breakfast! I am very glad I waited till 6 am when they opened instead of defaulting for a bagel. They had a great selection of sweet and savory freshly baked pastries, with ham, cheese, cream, and what not. Also yogurts and sandwiches from their regular menu. Definitely one of the best food options at MIA. The sandwiches are great, and they pack them in padded cardboard tubes so that you can bring them onto your flight without getting crushed. This place is bangarang! It was the perfect pick-me-up for a long hard work day. TGIF. The set up is a small bar with many wonderful selections of drinks (They have Mojitos!) and food. I originally was going to get the Cuban sandwhich, but the staff were so friendly and talkative they told me one of the best things on the menu was the Lechon. It is a flat bread with BBQ pork, cheese, honey, truffle oil, and sweet plantains which after reading it off the menu caused me to be a little cautious. But since it was Friday and I could get a Cuban just about anywhere else in FL I figure why not. After taking one bite, this flatbread is an instant winner. I have many friends that travel in to the Miami airport, and I will most definitely be recommending they go visit this glorious little spot with their enthusiastic servers and tasty wizardry of flavors. read more

We ordered Tostones rellenos, which were dripping with grease but regrettably tasteless, the grilled vegetable flatbread, which had corn, carrots, and peppers, none of which was grilled (frozen vegetables?), and the wedge salad, with two minute teaspoons of dressing. Everyone knows that the bar for airport food quality isn't set very high. Oftentimes we just need to grab something quick between connecting flights or to kill time between a long layover. Estefan Kitchen Express has exceeded my expectations and then some. They're a little storefront with a small bar near gate 27 in Concourse D. Service was friendly and I received my order pretty quickly. I ordered the Roasted Pork Flatbread, which was absolutely, hands down, the best and most creative flatbread I've ever eaten. The pulled pork was tender and perfectly cooked and the plantains on top were sweet in all the right ways. The drizzle of honey and truffle oil was the perfect finishing touch. Everything about that flatbread was literally perfect. I noticed that they also sell different flavored mojitos, which look really good, but I didn't get to try one this time. When you leave a place and are still thinking about how good your meal was days later, especially at a quick stop place like this, you know you have a winner. One of the only places that has wifi at MIA. Their prices are a bit higher than other latin eateries at the airport but it's worth it! I was told their most popular was the lechon flatbread. Tender pulled pork with plantain. Both sweet and savoury. It's drizzled with some truffle oil and honey. Delicious! I was also intrigued by the coconut cheese pastelito and guava and cheese empanada. It came in a lovely to-go packaging. All items were delicious but the flatbread was indeed the star. I would come again if I were to layover at MIA. Downside to this place is there's no seating. It's a grab and go. On my to try list is their tres leches cake. I doubt it'll disappoint. But it's $5.50 compared to what others offer for $3.99. read more

The quality is good the wine is ok, but this what I see here when I order a glass of wine and sit and drink it. You get scam, the guy round the numbers and if you don't check your ticket you will be over charged.
