I did also leave behind a comment card with constructive criticism and I was very happy to know that the owner took it very seriously by calling me and asking for additional details---This always makes me happy because it shows me how much an owner truly cares and this is the kind of place that I am always willing to support! So on to the review, The cupcakes and decorating part were messy! but it was a fun messy, one of the comments I made on my comment card was having kid friendly piping bags or at least a rubber band on the bag to stop the icing from squirting out because every time my daughter did it, she would squeeze it out from the top of the piping bag. The cupcakes themselves were yum! We were given the choice of any drink that we wanted from the fridge and of course we were very happy to see diet dr pepper! and milk options. From the actual display case we got carrot cake and a pineapple upside down cake bar and a nutella cupcake. I don't know how they make the pinapple cake bar but it was delicious! you could taste the crispy brown sugar that had been baked on. The carrot cake was moist and yummy too. We all gave it the approval. Overall we look forward to coming here and trying out more of their yummy cakes and we definitely plan on going there on Fridays for the $1 mini's. :-D

Their work very closely resembled the graphics we shared during the ordering process. I do apologize for this likely being a challenging design, but quite impressed that you and your team pulled it off so well and even hand delivered an hour before the event. We normally don't care for buttercream style cakes (mostly because it's just nauseatingly sweet and often gritty), but the taste of this cake which was vanilla layered with vanilla buttercream was a delight-- not overly sweet and has a great flavor, including the fondant too. We were also concerned that the cake would fall over like a tree as soon as we cut into it, but they secured it very well and that did not happen at all. Thanks again Aldo and team! We hope this cake wasn't too much of a struggle but you deserve an honest positive review. We highly recommend their work and will be considering again for any specialty cake requests in the future.

I submitted an online contact message and Darla called within two hours of hitting send;) Darla and I talked roughly 10-15 minutes. She gave me some great suggestions and I went with a 10 inch chocolate cake with buttercream chocolate frosting. I thought I needed a 10 inch because I was serving 13 people. Her cakes are four inches thick so I could have went with an eight inch lol. I let her know I needed to pick up the cake Wednesday at 5:45 PM as I needed to arrive at the venue at 6:30. I was able to pay for the cake over the phone and received a text message receipt. When I picked up the cake Wednesday it was sitting on a little table in front of the counter. I liked the contactless pick up process! Now to the cake. It was a huge hit with the birthday boy and everyone that tasted it! All my friends wanted to know where I purchased this marvellous cake. It's a cute shop right in the heart of Avondale and on top of the that it's Blackowned! The owner OJ was really nice and helpful. The music was was bumping and the sweet aroma of cupcakes filled there. I had the red velvet and a black and white that was sooooo good! My son had a sprinkle one.
