Had the huevos rancheros and they were much better than my first experience w/ the veggie burrito. The portion size was solid. I found the sauce incredibly spicy but I had some corn chips which help offset some of that. Their all their breakfast menu is extensive; looking forward to exploring more that menu. read more

Wow Viva pancho Villa guey... Well my friend the COP told me a bout this place. I have driven by it many times but since it was a little cucaracha hole in the wall i never bothered. When i arrived at the place, i called him back and asked " are you sure this is the place", he said yes - go in and wait to be seated. Well it was worth the 10 minute wait. The Super HOT fresh Salsa, best in NYC (too bad sagat does not go to that part of the BX) The chips are normal like any other place. Usually passion fruit margaritas are made with real passion fruit juice, but here they used a very sweet syrup. I asked my waiter to change my margarita because it was way too sweet. Half way through drinking my new margarita, I realized there was hair on my lime so informed the waiter. I didn't want another drink because I was disgusted. When I received the bill, the waiter tried to charge me for the margarita that had hair on the lime. He eventually removed the charge. The food was mediocre. Today I decided to go light with a order of guacamole to start with some nacho chips and also a chimichangas for the meal. Must say both tasted great and also felt the customer service was pretty fast. Please those tho it was a early dinner and this may effect services due to later times as I hear it is a popular eatery. I had a very unpleasant experience tonight. We ordered our food, and received our appetizers andd finished them before getting our drinks. It was not a huge deal, just odd. The food was good with some dishes being better than others. Just VERY salty. If you are someone who cannot tolerate a lot of salt, stress that when you order. The issue came with the bill. We were planning on dessert but after cleaning the table, the waitress did not go anywhere near our table. We asked multiple people for more water, and wanted more drinks, but never got the chance. After waiting 20 minutes, we just wanted the check. 40 additional minutes later, after asking 4 different servers, we had to get up and search for the check. One hour for the check. Then they added 4% onto the bill. THIS IS MISLEADING as they post that it is for the NYS approved cash discount. In order to do this, they have to display the credit card prices and deduct 4% if the customer pays cash. This is a twist of a law they are abusing, which added unexpected dollars to our bill, which was over $100 dollar. It was just an added annoyance. read more

I ordered the enchilada it was horrible. The sauce taste burnt. I let a few other people and they said the same. When I took a bite out of one of the enchilada something hard I was chewing on. It was either bay leaves or something a long those lines where I was eating stems. Disgusting! Also the chicken taco container opened up in the bag and was all over the bag. My order was over $50, but I called to get a refund on just the enchilada. They didn't believe me and sent someone to my job to check it out. He looked at it and said it was fine no refund. She even changed her legal name to "POD-Lana", and opened this restaurant with the money she made in the band: Estrellita POD-Lana. I'm not sure why it's spelled wrong on Yelp, ah well. What to get: Tacos. What else: This is my 2nd ever NYC review. I stopped by here as part of a "Bronx Food Tour". It was pretty good. I had an Asada Taco and a Chorizo taco. They were nice and cheap, they were tasty, they were everything you'd expect from NYC Tacos, as in, not the best, but edible and enjoyable. I also got a "banana drink" which was a little overpriced, didn't have a great taste, and was way too icy. The chunks of ice got stuck in the straw. It was a little disappointing to say the least. So I wouldn't recommend this drink to anyone, although it wasn't awful by any means. And if you have a pet Kestrel (it's a bird) named Lita, then you might prefer Kestrellita Poblana, but if you're in the Bronx and looking for some decent Mexican food, this place will do you fine. I swear this place will always get my money- they are so damn good! Always satisfying, super good and fresh. Good prices and delivery is super fast. The nachos are so so good & the burrito is fire. My only complaint would be the meat portion on the tacos. I stopped getting them because it would be a light serving of meat. But the burrito and the nachos are wayyyyyy better.
