i came here about 5 years ago for my first wetsuit and first board. the guy that sold me my 6'2" lost told me it was a great beginner board. YEAH RIGHT!! it took me a year to learn flopping around on that thing looking like shark bait, but I finally did learn, i got my wetsuit here too, it was expensive and i probably could have gotten a better deal if I looked around. bottom line is they have a huge selection of new boards and their used rack usually has a bunch of boards. lots of clothing and skate things too. im still surfing 5 years later, so maybe coming here was part of the reason i am still surfing today. one of the guys working here was cool and when i asked him how much i owed him for the wax, he said don't worry about it. i dont know if thats normal or not, but thanks brotha read more

Hard to stay away from this shop. Friendly and helpful staff (Daniel, Sonny, Worm and others). Always on point and willing to answer any questions. The people who work at E.T. is what makes this store so special compare to other local surf/skate shops. Inventory: Huge selection of new surfboards and decent selection of used/consignment boards. Great local surf shop. Always helpful, great prices and great selection. Always my first stop.

All the employees were very nice and approachable. I went there with a friend, looking at the surfboards they had. I haven't surfed in years, so I had some questions and wanted advice, but was too scared to ask in fear of them being rude or condescending. But when I finally asked, the guy was so helpful in advice on what kind of board I should get, and walked me through their large selection showing the different types. Patient, helpful, and knowledgable-- fantastic service! Also, I showed up 30 minutes before they were closing, without any knowledge of their open hours since I haven't been there in forever. it was 8:05 by the time we left, and they didn't rush us or give any crap about still being in the store- which I totally appreciate. Love ET Surf! Prices are reasonable for a surf shop and they have a great selection. My 5 star rating is based on an experience I had shopping for my boyfriend's birthday present. I had been in with my boyfriend a few weeks prior taking mental notes of the apparel he wanted. When I came back to buy, the store had finished remodeling and everything had moved! This was a little disheartening as I had more remembered the location of the items he wanted, rather than the items themselves. One of the associates approached me and helped me navigate the store to find everything. He pointed me to which areas the racks I remembered had moved to and assisted me in finding the correct sizes. It's my go to spot for traction pads, leashes, surf boards, fins, board bags, wax, etc. Great selection of shortboards upstairs by Firewire, Lost, CI, JS, etc. Smaller selection of longboards and SUPs on the lower level. Tons of surf and skateware as well as a huge selection of skateboard decks. Body boards and swim fins galore - Vipers, Churchill, Voit, DaFin, etc. There's as extensive selection of used boards that's worth perusing. Hubby rented some snowboarding gear for me for our weekend in Big Bear here. Rental of snow boarding shoes and board with bindings came up to $50 for the entire weekend!!! I thought that was amazing... They make the rental process fast and easy and always treat you like family. They also have a store complete with any attire needs for snowboarding or beach wear. These guys are great. Last week was my second time buying a board from them. Sonny helped me with getting a new lost. They have by far the largest selection of lost boards I have ever seen. After a ton of deliberation I decided on a board with a lot of help from sonny who is one if the store managers. I'm so stoked on the lost v3 rocket we settled on. I have been coming here since they opened.I bought my first skateboard here (FROM THE WORM) & he still works there ! ,It's a LOGAN EARTH SKI WITH SIMS WHEELS AND BENNETT TRUCKS and used it to skate in all the local skate parks and pools like the black pond in Manhattan beach.that are all gone now. and i still have the board.The whole staff is very knowledgeable about their products. I lost a body board fin yesterday and decided to upgrade. Did some research online and rounded it down to a couple of fins. Called ET and got all the info I needed. The guy that helped me was really good and he helped me the next day when I tried the fins on. This is just a really cool surf shop. Best place in Los Angeles to rent boarding equipment. The sales associate is very knowledgeable and spends time fitting your equipment correctly. More importantly, they rent newer equipment at lower costs, much lower than you would pay up at the mountains. And best of all they are totally cool. Our Big Bear snowboard weekend was ruined because of the rain so we were unable to board. ET surf gave us free rentals for our next trip! read more

This place is great for my snowboard gear. I can rent boots for cheap and they rent boards and stuff cheap also. they do not trip on being a day late as long as you dont use the stuff. Sometimes I dont feel like dropping boots off after a long day of snowboarding so it is nice they do not charge the extra day. Always willing to help. great clothes too.
