Took some surf classes a couple weeks ago and decided to finally get a board and gear. I was about to purchase everything online till I ET Surf. This place has everything other stores lack, they're inventory is ridiculous. They've got every board, fin, wetsuit etc. for all your surfing needs. DC (Dan) provided great customer service and installed the fins, traction pads on my board as well! They will beat any price online or any other shop. Definitely coming back here for all my gear. Very cool surf/skate/snow shop. I've lived in a bunch of different California beach towns and love coming across long-standing local shops, but this one is my best find yet. I went in the other day to check out snowboards and a guy helped me out, dropped some knowledge and showed me some cool stuff (not sure of his name but I believe he does a lot of the tuning and such; can tell he's a hands-on technician who also happens to be a decent salesman - rare). Their snowboards were on a slight discount, and I saw their price-match sticker on the board. I went home and did a little of my own research on the board and also looked up pricing. ET's pricing was right on with the lowest pricing I found online! I would've bought from them with no haggle even if they were a little higher because I hate buying online but that was a pleasant surprise. I went back last night and bought the board and the same guy I worked with before removed all the stickers and gave it a free wax while I waited. Good stuff. I just get the feeling they really know what they're doing - great, helpful staff with individual personalities and TONS of cool product from surf-/skate-/snowboards to accessories to clothes (get almost all my clothes at this place). I have to give this place 5 stars! This is one of the only privately-owned surf shops left in L.A. All but one other are owned by the major brands. I really like to support local business and feel good about giving this shop my money. The staff has always treated me right any time I come in. I love their huge selection of boards. If you can't find something you want to ride here then I don't know what to tell you. I bought a very nice Matuse wetsuit that I absolutely love back at the start of the summer. I went during the COV-19 outdoor pick-up only, and I can't recommend TUCKER enough. I went to get birthday gifts for a girlfriend, and he ran in and out of the store with items to show me from behind their table (safe distance away, thank you Tucker) countless times. I turned down sooo many items and he just graciously smiled and keep trotting along with the next wave of sweatshirts, beach dresses, hats, towels, etc. For anyone still in the mood for COV-19 gifts, go to my man, Tucker. This place was the raddest surf shop in Hermosa. Went there to do some vaca shopping and wound up buying a killer Carver Surf-Skate board which I used the entire rest of my trip, and continue to carve the streets back home. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and answered all of my questions in regards to the board purchase. Dan is the Man!!! I didn't know about this place until I was referred to it by another shop, to take care of my snowboard binding needs. Just like what I said earlier, Dan is the Man!! The whole shop is so chill and just awesome! I actually live a couple of blocks away from another board shop, but I'd rather drive 40 minutes to just go here due to their top services!! If anywhere this is the spot to purchase your surf and skate gear. I don't know anything about what to really look for in a wetsuit. But I came here first by word of mouth and really appreciate the superb customer service here. There's tons of stuff from clothes, wetsuits, boards you can choose from. Two stories worth to be exact. A couple people helped me out to narrow down to what type of wetsuit I should purchase unfortunately ran out of my size but were willing to order another for me. And yes it's so easy to just buy the same online somewhere but I really didn't wanna because of the good experience I had coming in here. Best shop in the South Bay by far! Since I've moved to the Santa Monica area, I haven't found a shop like ET. Everyone is so chill and very knowledgeable in their craft. I've bought sandals, leashes, wetsuits, and shirts (shop shirts too because I love to rep this place). I called ahead to make sure they had the type of fins I was looking for and a young man named Kade answered and gave me a detailed explanation on which fins he thought would be the best for my situation. I came into the shop a few hours later and he took the time to go through all the fin options because I did not know much about them. He was being super patient and knowledgeable. I've been here a few times, typically because my car is being washed next-door. Every time I shop here, I'm shocked at how small the women's section is. It's a very small square of the entire store and typically includes very small sizes, very select brands, and the styles are almost identical brand to brand. Just don't shop here for women's clothes, or don't go here for women's clothes expecting much! read more

The guys are very awesome here and they are the only shop that helps out with the Wounded Warrior Project in San Diego during the summer time and teaches Wounded Warriors to surf. They beat prices and they acknowledge you when you first walk in the door. They don't try to sell you stuff that you don't need. They also try and save you money. I've been coming to ET for several years now, but a bunch of boards and fins, and every single experience I've had was great. Dan has helped me out a bunch of times, from finding the right board, to steering me away from buying a board and suggesting fins instead to fix my problem, to helping me get my board fixed after it got wrecked in Hawaii. Just overall great service - you get the sense that they're all really just trying to help you surf better and be smart with all of your decisions. Great people and great store.
