Amazing view. We stayed here for five nights and had dinner here two of those nights. The menu is kind of sparse and hasnt changed in years. I wish they had sone daily specials as its the same menu they have available for lunch. The food is just o.k. Its all about the view. Best view in PV. read more

Eugenia is a fabulous restaurant at Grand Miramar. This was our first dinner in Puerto Vallarta and we came back 3 more times. While I'm not a strict vegetarian, they have a whole separate menu for vegetarian and vegan food, and it's GOOD. The chef is extremely talented, wish I could've thanked him in person. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. And let's not forget the view! Just breathtaking. Highly recommend dining here even if you aren't staying at the hotel. read more

View, ambiance, and vibe! This place has the best view hands-down. The menu cators to almost every need. There isn't a lot of gastronomic thought into the dishes, but they are some classics. I ordered the chickpea appetizer that was good but nothing extraordinary. We shared the frutos rojos salad that was a bit sweet but good, 4/5. For a main, I had the lentil milanesa. It was dry and not well seasoned. The veggies it came with were decent overall, 2/5. The truffle fries were delicious 4/5. The service, while quick and courteous, lacked true care as my dish was terrible, and I didn't really want to wait until the server approached us, so I sucked it up. This item should definitely not be in the menu, borderline disgusting. Overall, this place is decent. But just be very careful what you order and ask if it's decent. read more

Surprised to hear others didn't have great food and bad service. Both were excellent during our stay! THE FOOD & DRINKS We came to the restaurant 3 times together for dinner during our stay, and my husband came once for lunch as well. Our favorite dish was hands down the rib eye appetizer. We tried both -- the one with guacamole and the one served with melted cheese (queso fundido). The one with guac was amazing! The rib eye was crispy and tender, creamy guacamole, tangy salty cheese crisps, and fresh soft tortillas. The seafood we tried tasted so fresh. The desserts were rich. The cocktails were strong. Overall, the menu was presented as a nod to some authentic Mexican cuisines. It was definitely a fusion menu, drawing on inspiration from other cultural cuisines. THE SERVICE The service was excellent. We actually had the same server twice. All staff was attentive and friendly. They offered food recs and even took photos for us, as we were on our honeymoon and wanted to capture moments. They checked in on us the right amount and made sure we were enjoying our food and had everything we needed to dine. THE AMBIANCE At night, it's definitely a romantic vibe. We noticed more adults at the resort in general and this was true for dinners at the restaurant. You can dress up or dress down and both would be acceptable. It's more on the fine dining side. The servers are definitely trained to give a higher caliber of service than you find in casual restaurants. THE VERDICT We loved it! We didn't expect to eat so many meals at the resort, but the food was so good. The menu is certainly pricey, which is to be expected. And of course, it's convenient since we were staying right downstairs. I would definitely come back when we're in PV again. read more

The ambience is absolutely beautiful just as all the other reviews have said. And the food is utterly mediocre. Based on the other reviews, I went for something basic and less expensive, the steak tacos. They were fine, but tasted like street tacos that you would get on a street corner in LA. I mean, not like GOOD street tacos, but like basic street tacos. They have a very large, vegan dessert menu, which was a nice surprise so decided to save room for dessert. Big mistake. The server recommended the brownie of all of the desserts, and it was absolutely horrible. I don't know what they used in place of flour, maybe whole wheat flour, but it tasted like sawdust. The biggest shock of the night was the price of the glass of wine. They do not put the prices of wine by the glass on their menu, which is always a little bit suspicious. But I assumed that a house wine would be less expensive than one of their signature cocktails. Boy was I wrong. It was almost twice the price. And it was more than my entrée! Overall, it was pleasant sitting up there, I really enjoyed the view, I enjoyed my over-priced glass of wine, but just go in with low expectations on the food. read more

We had a fabulous dinner while enjoying one of the most beautiful views of the city at Eugenia last night. The service was excellent. I really love the fact that they have a vegan menu with many different options. My husband enjoyed a Octopus Tacos, perfectly prepared rib eye steak and coconut cake for dessert. I had bean and chipotle cream soup, Ensenada Tacos, and Tofu Panna Cotta. It is the best selection of vegan options that I've seen in Puerto Vallarta thus far. I would highly recommend Eugenia for an amazing dinner and an amazing experience. read more

We visited the resort for sunset cocktails at the Gin Joint which is located on the rooftop a level above Eugenia. We enjoyed our experience so much we stayed for dinner. WE were given a great table which also had a nice view of the pool and cityscape (not as spectacular of a view as the rooftop but very nice). The service was excellent and they have a very nice wine selection and menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal and while it wasn't the best food I had while in PV it was quite good and a solid 4star experience and I would defiantly go back. It's worth a trip up the hill to experience the rooftop view and stay for dinner. It was an excellent overall experience. read more

We've had excellent service at literally every restaurant in a 7-day stay in PV - until "high end" Eugenia. Not sure what irritated me more: Was it the 90-minute wait from ordering to seeing our plates arrive, or the the overcooked room temperature leather un-ironically named "Sabores de mi Tierra"? Was it the arguing and smoke billowing from the kitchen, or the inability to get simple things like steak knives or pens to sign the credit card bill? Was it having hot food spilled on one of us, or the failure to make any accommodation other than inviting us back soon? I could go on and on about the truly miserable experience called Eugenia. Instead, some advice to owner: Skip the gimmicky iPad menu and instead invest in training your hapless staff. read more

We had by far our best meal in PV here! The view from on high of the bay is world class and should not be missed! Cocktails were unique and well made, especially the passion fruit as well as berry margaritas. The appetizers including coconut shrimp, garbanzo bean ceviche and tuna tartare were excellent. Two in our party had the octopus entree and found it outstanding. A few members ordered tacos that were unique such as beef tongue and enjoyed them immensely. Fish was fresh and well cooked. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and the beautiful location. Service was very attentive and helpful. Great for special occasions or just a nice dinner out. read more

We were hoping to experience a nice fine dining experience with friends that were staying at the hotel. It started out ok, waiter took our orders, then brought us our drinks, and it seemed to be going smoothly. Then I ask for some water, and of course they come with water and only fill a couple of the glasses, never asking if anyone else wants some before walking away. A few soups come out afterward, except for one until about 5 minutes later. Cut to an hour and a half later, still waiting for our entrees, and they finally come out, and the waiter mishandles the plate and hot butter and garlic falls on my shirt. The waiter of course is very apologetic, and continues serving the rest of the food. At this point, I'm trying not to get irritated, so I try to enjoy the food. I order my skirt steak medium rare, it is definitely medium well, and another friend ordered his medium, and was definitely well done. We make sure that they know it wasn't cooked to our asking, and they offer to replace them. We of course said no, because it took this long to get the food. So we try to enjoy the meal, and hope nothing else happens, because at this point I wanted to get the hell out of there. So, they ask how everything was, knowing very well it wasn't a good experience at all, so we tell them just how it was. They offered to launder my shirt on site, but how do I leave a shirt I'm wearing for them to launder it? They said we could come back so we can have a better experience, why would I want to return to this place after this?? Then they said they'd pay for my laundry, so we'll see if that happens. After all this, the waiter brings the check, mind you no discount or anything, for everything that went wrong, which I don't care, we give him our cards to pay, and he mentions that if we were to leave a tip, we have to tell him before he runs the card. After everything, why would you even say ANYTHING about a tip?! So everything turns even more awkward at that point, so I say no tip and run the card, so I could get the hell out of there. Not sure what went wrong in that kitchen, and with the staff, but I have a very overcooked bad taste in my mouth, and a stained new shirt to remember the experience. Never again returning to this place, absolutely worst experience I've had in Mexico. read more
