I will start off by saying that my Subaru is my baby. One day my fog lights stopped working. When I had changed lightbulbs, checked the relays and fuses, and still could not find the issue, I knew I needed to find some professional help. Eurotech is right down the street from where I work, so when I called them on my lunch they said to bring my car right over. They were able to diagnose the problem at a reasonable cost and helped me to be able to replace some hinky fuses and wiring that the previous owner had installed. I had a starter go out on my BMW X3 and tried to get road side service thru my provider but they claimed a 3hr delay for a tow. Researched online and called Eurotech - they were close to where i was broken down. Spoke to Ken who tried to arrange a tow bad had similar issues getting a tow on the day. He saved me - He personally came and picked me up and took me to the car rental and then arranged to get my car to the shop later in the day. As I was on the road 1800 miles away from home and of the opinion that I needed a simple Valve Adjustment on my 47 year old PV544, I had VIS recommended to me by a fellow Volvo nut. Not only did Peter work me in (immediately upon arrival) but in the very thorough process of setting my valve clearance and checking out other "routine" items, he discovered that my distributor cap was completely shot. Something that I had not noticed prior to departure or during the six days I had been on the road. While the "Fix" for my needs was not free, it might as well have been. I was shocked and amazed (especially as a "tourist"!) with the EXTREMELY reasonable charges for labor and materials. Apparently there is at least one Volvo Repair shop that is run by someone with a conscience - and considerable talents! Was referred to the business from a local parts supplier for a cooling system problem I was unsure about. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The owner Peter was very fair and reasonable about all repairs my S70 needed and even told me that I could wait on an item I considered replacing during the service I received at the point of planning the repairs to be done at the time. Eurotech - formerly known as Volvo Independent Service is by far the most honest car repair shop in Rancho Cordova. I have been bringing my 2000 Honda Accord in to these guys for years, and have never been let down. They did a factory rebuild on my transmission that was worth over $2000 and were honest enough to tell me it was all covered under factory warranty and charged me nothing. They are old school experts and can diagnose almost any issue with ease. read more

Very personable on the phone. Eager to get you in. After that - THE WORST! Made appointment after discussing repair. A routine suspension repair. Ballpark estimate $700. Got car in at 8AM opening. Was told would get a call if any issue. Repair would be about half a day. Never got a call. Finally i called at 4PM as rental car had to go back. Was told no parts yet. Car hadnt been touched. Revised estimate up to $900- $1100 dollars without looking at car. Then stated he wasnt sure repair could be done by them because the parts may not come apart as planned and that might be several hundred dollars more. If they had started on car i would have been trapped into paying about $1200 dollars plus several days in shop for a repair that was quoted at $700 and 1 day in shop. Repair now done for $594 total. read more

I took my Volvo 240 to Peter for a simple engine repair. His shop performed work which was unnecessary (removing the head); they installed used parts, and did not complete the work they charged me for. I ended up filing a complaint with the Bureau of Auto Repair. I do not take such actions lightly, and as a business owner, I would not trash an honest business. Rather than refund a portion of my money, Peter did some additional ,non-enginework on my Volvo. I agreed to this resolution to avoid the time and trouble of legal action. Today I noticed an oil leak in the vicinity of the head. Eurotech had "replaced all gaskets and seals". I called Peter to request that he have a look at it. He refused, reciting a list of the most common B.S. excuses: it's old, they all do that, they rarely leak oil at the head...etc. Well, it is leaking at the head, and the least a responsible mechanic should do is offer to check it out. Obviously, Peter does not need my business. I have worked as a mechanic, and I know that occasionally one takes on a project that one wishes one hadn't. But once you accept a job, and charge a hefty fee, you assume responsibility for your work. I went to Eurotech based on Peter's reputation and reviews on Yelp. I am deeply disappointed. Some folks seem happy with Eurotech- perhaps most of their work is fine. But I think the mark of a good shop is how they handle legitimate customer complaints. On that score, Eurotech fails miserably. read more

Good guys, so far the only Volvo specialists In the sac area that I will let touch my v50. A little spendy for an Indy shop but they're good and have lots of Volvo knowledge. They can't do electronic work on newer Volvos but I trust them to do anything mechanical. One side note, they don't like customer supplied parts. This place is the best. I found Peter and his team 5 years ago. He's worked on my son's high-mileage Volvo and kept it running like a top for a price that fit the budget. I've referred my co-workers there and all have been wow'ed. Jacob and Peter have worked on their Toyota's, Lexus's and other. Someone tried to steal my college son's old Mercedes and ruined the ignition lock. Peter and Jacob repaired it beautifully and used previously owned parts so he could afford it. I took my 2008 Volvo S40 in the other day for an oil change, headlight replacement, and a fuse replacement. Thanks to these wonderful people though I also dodged a significant transmission issue, and was able to catch up on some overdue warranty work that (because it's a used car) I was unaware of. World Class Customer Service. Ken and the team made my experience with a repair shop memorable. Came in with a broken timing belt...left with a customer for life. Ken and his team took the time and effort to show me the damaged parts and engine so I understood the damage the broken timing belt did. They also recommended other service (fluid flushes, motor mount replacement and a torn CV boot) to be done to avoid costly repairs in the future. A few weeks ago, our 2003 Mercedes C240's engine quit producing enough power to move the vehicle though it kept on running. So we had the car towed to Eurotech. The root of the problem proved to be elusive, and the MB dealer in El Dorado Hills had to get involved. The dealer also had great difficulties trying to figure out what the problem was for a few days. In the end, the dealer fixed the problem and thanks to Eurotech's Ken's help, our car was returned to us in fine working order at a cost that was more than fair considering just how much work was done on it. In the three-plus weeks since then, the car seems to be running great. I want to thank Ken and his team for not giving up and for facilitating the involvement of the dealer. Through it all, they were friendly and professional. And, most importantly, they kept kept the cost I ended up paying very close to their initial estimate despite all of the additional time, parts, and dealer work that went into repairing our car after they gave the estimate. I have been going to Pete at VIS for some time now. He has always provided curteous, informative, helpful and reasonable low cost service. He is available to see my car at the "drop of a hat". I have always walked away feeling quite confident about any and all repairs that have been done to my '01 C70. I highly recommend his shop. I had another mechanic that I trusted with my Volvos, however, he was a bit costly. His work was excellent but, Pete did the same work for usually 20 to 40 percent lower than my former mechanic. I felt trapped at Turner Volvo. I brought the vehicle brand new(xc90), it had additional warranty for day to day needs. However, Any time I took the car there, I had to pay for something or another....I had to return the car many times back to get the first problem fixed all over again.
