The battery light indicator in my truck came on. I checked it with a multimeter and it showed 12.6 volts with the engine off, but dropped to 11.6 volts with the engine running, indicating a bad alternator. I reached out to several shops and couldn't get an estimate of the cost of a replacement. I called Hip at EV Tires and told him what was going on. He gave me a quote for replacing the alternator over the phone. I took my truck in, and he was able to replace the alternator that day. I definitely will be coming back for other services. I got a rear sway bar installed on my 24 Integra, they also do other services as well besides just tires such as part installs. I had a tire patched up here once and it was pretty quick, in and out. No issues. Which is why I'm giving 3 stars. This morning i realized I had another screw in my tire and needed it removed and patched. So I pulled in at 8:00 am... which is opening time....not open yet and everything locked up. Around 8:05 the office person (who was really nice) came to greet me and told me his tech should be arriving shortly. 8:15... no tech and still waiting. Unfortunately I had to leave and went to another shop. I'm not sure if this is something that happens often with EV tires,but in my case, I was on my way to work and didn't have much time to spare. An inconvenience for sure which was further complicated due to EV's tardiness. So by reading this review, I'm not sure how you could take this. Maybe it was a one off or maybe this is common? Late December my husband and I were driving from San Pedro to Temecula and our tire light went on. I needed to find some where to check the tire as I didn't feel safe driving all the way home. Mac helped us at the counter, they are very professional and friendly! We got there about 1 hour before they closed. They quickly identified the problem as our tire sensor and they were able to replace it and at $83 out the door. I'm sure if we went to our car dealer it would have been more. Hands down the best tire shop I've ever used in every aspects. I got a flat on my Tesla Y, and Andrew offered me the best service & the PRICE of all 10 places I've called around (and the fastest). All the other tire shops said it would take a few days to get the tires of my size (sometimes I hate my Y for its rare tire size lol), and Andrew managed to get the tires the next day. (Tesla dealer was too expensive and rude so i didn't want to use them). I replaced both my front tires with Andrew, and I'm due for my back tires now and I found out Andrew is no longer working there :( but I found out the owner Hip is even better lol. I came across EV Tires In Buena Park. I pass by their shop all the time but have never been there. On their Yelp page, their ratings are quite good. After I inquired on price, I must say... they were very competitive. I decided to go there to get the work done. My SUV needed all four corners done (brake pads and rotors). Thankfully they weren't super busy. My vehicle was done within a few hours. Overall... very friendly staff... very competitive prices on parts and labor... a very knowledgeable team... and a great first time experience with their service. I took my car to another shop to have the tires balanced and rotated. They do it for free because I bought them there. While I was there, I noticed a poster that mentioned swollen lug nuts. I had never heard of them before but wouldn't you know it, they came back and said my car had swollen lug nuts and then he hands me 1 of the lug nuts that he says couldn't be put back on for fear of it getting stuck. He said they were really careful with all the others and then hands me a card for a mechanic who could replace the lug nuts and any wheel studs that had been corroded (he of course noticed a couple). I did a lot of research that night and this morning I bought new lug nuts and took them to EV Tires. Hiep was the guy that helped me out. He said they just looked like normal wear and tear and all he had to do was clean the studs. But he also mentioned that not only was I missing a lug nut on my front tire, I was missing one on the back as well. He only replaced a total 6 of the 17 I bought and told me to go get my money back for the rest. What could have potentially cost me $400, only cost me $37.14 for the parts and labor. Mad respect for an honest employee and a decent human being. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone. read more
