Stopped by this place today around 11:20am because one of my tires had a nail in it and I seen a sign outside that says BAYS ARE OPEN! No Appt Needed! I was thinking perfect. I walked in the store and before I got to the front counter the guy asked what I needed and I asked if they fix tires, mine has a nail in it. I brought my Ford Mustang in for an oil change and the whole process went smoothly, I was in and out of there in 30 minutes. I was greeted by the manager Andrew and he was very helpful from the beginning. He suggested that I get the full synthetic oil because my vehicle has a turbo charged engine but I opted to just go with the synthetic blend oil change for this visit. Luckily, I found a Groupon for this place and was able to get an oil change for $28.79 but my car carries 6 qt. of oil, so I paid an additional $12 with all the fees. In the end, I paid $41 for an oil change, not bad compared to all other places that are charging $50+. The oil change service also includes a complimentary tire rotation and brake inspection. First, everything here is the honest truth! I don't make up lies that harm a business and cost it money! I called brand-new employee Karl because I needed tires for a motorhome. He said we don't install tires on motorhomes. I said fine, because all I really needed was a loose tire. I paid Karl in cash for a cheap Chinese tire that would arrive the following day. Days later, I came to pick the tire up. Karl was not there. An older man went back and brought it into the office. I informed him that I was NOT going to leave any worn-out tires and that I had been charged a disposal fee before, and could I get that back. NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT! was his reply. I asked about voiding the sale and starting over with a new sale, minus the fee. Again, NO! So, you expect me to just take the loss? That's what I asked him. At that point, he offered me a handwritten IOU on a piece of paper. Now, no business will accept a handwritten IOU as partial payment for anything. That's crazy to even say such a ridiculous thing! My god! Next, I asked if there was a corporate office that I could call. The old man says he cannot give that number out. Once I used the words corporate office, things suddenly changed. Apparently, there is something that he can do, because he took cash from the drawer and gave it to me. That amount was wrong, because those two fees were taxed and he didn't realize that. The man had the nerve to tell me the refund was COMING OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET, so that I would feel guilty about taking it. Here's the real problem. This old man is doing what's known as "quiet quitting". He's reached retirement age, but he has no money to retire with. So, he takes a job and does as little as possible. When I paid Karl, the old man was standing there staring silently off into the distance. His behavior is refusing to engage with the customers. Doing as little as possible. Simply showing up and collecting a paycheck while waiting around to die. But, this is not a rest home! This is not a retirement home, where you can just stare off into the distance and remember the better days of your life. You are expected to sell tires and process transactions. Apparently, he tells the customers HE CAN'T, and they are supposed to accept that and go away. But, he clearly can make refunds, because that's exactly what he ended up doing. He is just RESISTANT, is all. He wants to avoid even the most basic of transactions, because he simply wants to do as little as possible. He would rather send a customer away dissatisfied rather than make a simple computer input! My god! He simply does not want to be there and it shows as clear as day. If you ask for any sort of effort, you're gonna be told NO! No business needs or wants an employee that you have to build a fire under in order to get any work out of them! Right now, businesses are struggling to find customers with money to spend. And, NO, the customer does not expect to be charged for fees or services that they do not receive. No customer just walks away and takes a loss! A smooth, friendly transaction is what is expected from a business. That is even more important than a low price. You never want the interaction to become confrontational or adversarial. Laziness is what happened here. Pure and simple. An old man coming to work to collect a paycheck because he cannot afford to retire. Doing as little as possible. Refusing to even TYPE ON A COMPUTER, for god sakes! Expecting to simply stand there staring off into the distance! Turning AWAY business, rather than inspiring customers to return. I won't go back to this store, because nothing will change. Pep Boys has the same exact tire, for the same price. It's just a further drive, is all. But, the extra miles are well worth it, to avoid another confrontation like the one I'm describing here. This is a store that's running at a loss. No customers sitting around waiting for service. No tires being changed out in the service bay. So, the LAST thing any employee needs to do is to drive business away, especially over something as simple as a computer price change! I called the corporate office and told them all of this. This business does not owe any worker a paycheck simply because they cannot afford to retire. You either show up and do a reasonable amount of work. Or else you stay home and wait for your eviction notice to arrive. Simple as that! I'm old as well. But, the day that I can't change a price in a computer and open a cash drawer and hand someone a refund is the day that I might as well just lie down and give up on this life. It took very little effort to return an unused fee! My god, some people are just flat-out lazy! You really would need to build a fire underneath them to even get them to move! In all fairness to this business, new-employee Karl was fine. The tire I received was acceptable. So, if you can avoid the lazy old man, perhaps this business may serve your needs as expected. Dubious estimates and charges on brake pad /rotor replacement.. The new manager seemed bent in milking unknowlegeabke drivers. They charged a front brake / rotor replacement for Prius for $750. The average cost is about $250 - $350 for most shops using ceramic pads and rotors. Will never go to this place again. read more

Will not be coming back. I don't typically make appointments to get an oil change because often times it's a quick service anywhere that you go. I Made an appointment for 8am and arrived at 7:45am. After 1 hour of waiting the clerk whom was not very friendly from the start brings out a list of things that need to be fixed. These were some of the things on the list: -Clean and adjust rear break pads - Replace rear tires -Damaged/build up on battery terminals - Align and balance tires ( take in mind that they offer a free tire rotation but they'll charge you to align and balance). Oh, and since my back tires were supposedly worn out, they did not rotate them. So why was I there for over 1 hr for a simple oil change even though I had an appointment? Anyway, the bill was adding up to some ridiculous number. I declined all services. Upon getting home, I checked the rear tires and the tires still had plenty of thread...? (Attached is a pic). Also, cleaning the break pads might be something ppl do but if they're worn out wouldn't you just replace them? Took a picture of the battery terminals. Very slow service.. you be the judge. I (female) stopped in here yesterday afternoon (7/28) while on a day trip because my right rear tire seemed to have a small leak. The person at the desk went out and looked at my tire and said that the side wall was cracked; It definitely was not! I'm not blind. Then when I pushed back they took the tire off and dunked it. Came back and said it had a small leak but it was too close to the side wall to repair. By this point I was not feeling very comfortable with their "diagnosis" so I had them remount my tire and I left. I made it home safely by monitoring the pressure on my dash. This morning I went to my regular local tire shop and EVERYTHING this shop said was a lie! Came in for tires and an oil change. I had seen a special online and was wanting to save a few dollars, let's be honest 4 new tires is a nice chunk of change. When I arrived Perla and Andrew greeted me with a smile and quick service. Andrew helped me find tires and said he was not sure they had what I wanted in stock as they had been. Popular due to the promotion. He had me wait while he checked to be sure. After a few minutes he came back and let me know he checked the entire shop and was able to find what I was looking for! I dropped the car with him and he called me a couple hours later to let me know my car was ready! He even took great care by wrapping my donut tire up for me in plastic as my trunk was full and the tire had a lot of grease on it. It's the little things for me! I will definitely be back. I would never recommend this place to anybody! My tire was nearly flat and this place was close to my job. So I dropped my car off an hour after they opened, they told me they were a few cars ahead of me maybe an hour wait and I said that's fine because I had work anyway and I'd come back later. I frequently called just to check in to see how everything was going and they always told me something different. The first time I called they said my car was up next and it would be 15 more minutes. The second time I called they said there was still a car ahead of mine and they haven't looked at mine yet. After my five hour work shift, I went to go pick up my car and saw it was parked in the same spot I left it and still had a flat tire... When I went inside to get my keys they said they could look at it in 15 more minutes, but I heard that before over the phone so I just took my keys and drove my car with a flat tire home... The next morning I went to another place and it literally just took 15 minutes for them to patch it. Went here on a Tuesday afternoon, after I went to a Hyundai dealership, called 2 other Firestone branches, and reluctantly made an appointment with a different Hyundai dealership because my break lights were out and the dash break light were constantly on; which killed my battery and I needed a jumpstart after work. One dealership was appointment only, and I got quoted $200+ for diagnosis fee, and can't tell me if that counted towards the repair. The other dealership quoted me $195 of diagnostic fee which counted towards repair and they take walk-ins except the next day because they have a company luncheon apparently, and the earliest available appointment was next Thursday. 2 Firestone, gave me a diagnosis fee in the low $100s without a guarantee of being able to fix it. Gus was able to help me right away for $117, and I got the TPM sensors that has been a longstanding problem for me, because the sensors was costs way lower than the dealerships. I used to dread going to get my oil change because the places I've gone to always end up with a long list of things that "my car needs" and since I don't know anything about cars I end up getting pressured into caving for more services than just the oil change. Juan is my favorite because he'd take the time to give me suggestions but never pressured me or made me feel stupid for declining additional services. Working for a sales-driven company--I can call a sales pitch from a mile away and Juan never gave off that greedy/shady vibe. My car was accommodated and serviced by Dave despite the fact that I didn't put in for an appointment he made time to get my car done today. Don't get the insurance, it's a scam. They say in the first year they will fully replace the tire. Just had to get one replaced and it was under a year and i just got some credit towards the new tire. I didn't feel like arguing it i was already there for a while and needed to get going. Not sure why i got screwed but just beware and ask questions and not get scammed when you purchase their insurance but still have to pay $115 for a new tire that should be a straight up replacement. The man clearly through the could take advantage of us and immediately said I need a new tire, and that there was no way to fix mine. He said it was going to cost me 160$ to 200$ for a new tire. I took them off from my truck and had them on the back of my other truck, When I go there it was deserted and there were no customers. There was a man working in one of the bay and he asked me to go to front and see Guz. I did go to front and theres nobody there. Customer Service Can not be beat at this service center. I got a flat tire on the freeway on our way to Disneyland. AAA put my spare on but it was low on air. So when we found Goodyear in Buena Park we were excited to fill up the air and take off. When they went to put air in the tire they found it was in bad shape, so we ordered two tires; but would need to wait for them to come. Alex the Assistant Store Manager suggested he would take my family to Disneyland and I could catch up with them once the tires came. Wonderful the kids and my husband were dropped off at Disneyland! When my car was put on the hoist, I had damaged some parts of my suspension. Now it would be a few more hours. Alex came to my rescue again, he had a driver drop me off at Disneyland so I could be with my family. AMAZING RIGHT? They did a great job repairing my car and then called me to pick me up.
