Top shelf margaritas are the bomb. Pork tacos are awesome and chips and salsa yummy. Service is always great and everyone is always very nice. Doesn't matter which location they are both consistent. Great lunch menu. Stopped by on our way back to Dallas. Too much food to eat. Hubby had the number 1. Said the chicken enchiladas were incredible. Came with rice and beans. I had the number 4. Crispy ground beef taco, cheese enchilada, a crispy dome fried shell cover with queso and rice and beans. Incredible value for all that you get. I lovvvvved the taco. Beans were simple. Rice had a flavor that my hubby preferred more than me. And enchilada was good. We were the only ones in there and half way through another couple showed up. They seemed to know the drill like regulars. I'd go back for the tacos in a heartbeat! They didn't come with shredded cheese on like I'm used to, but I still found it so flavorful and the meat wasn't dried out and crumbly.. just the opposite! read more

I have to say the service was great, very attentive but I definitely won't be visiting here again. The sizzling fajita is what I ordered. The fajita meat itself was fine, just fine - not great, good or bad. It was decently seasoned maybe a bit heavy with pepper but doable. Now tortillas were lightly warm and horrible. You could taste that they were a poor quality store bought (try heb across the street). My rice was freezing cold, I'm assuming because they put it on the plate with the guacamole and pico de Gallo that they must of freshly took out the fridge (because once I put them in my already Luke warm tortilla it was freezing cold). The only thing I truly enjoyed was my beans. Another note - I asked for a Coke Zero and they brought it out as a can drink. Okay that's fine but at $2 a can you think they'd let you know ahead of time that it's $2 per can. A fountain drink would of been worth the cost (should of got the Diet Coke). read more

They use bacon grease on every tortilla bread. I am not happy as I have gone before and was reassured that there was no bacon grease. I am not expecting halal food but have the decency to know that certain customers really don't want bacon in their food. I am not happy that you don't have non bacon grease tortillas but at the fact that your servers didn't know that and I inadvertently ate there. read more

Been there plenty of times as well as their original location on Kuykendahl. Lunch prices as well as portion sizes are great. Favorites are the beef fajitas and the fajita enchiladas. If you're looking for a cheap buzz, try this place. If you're looking to eat, consider another. I live pretty close to Eva's, however had never visited prior to today. The restaurant is a hole in the wall, however it looks pretty decent on the inside. I had called prior to ask for their happy hour margarita prices. $3 for their house margaritas, and they're a pretty good size. Not sure when happy hour starts, but I know it ends at around 6:30, including weekends. This was reason for my 3 star rating, as they tasted really good and are relatively strong and big compared to other surrounding Mexican restaurants. My guess is that these glasses are around 10-12 oz. Let's address the food: I frequent local Mexican food restaurants as I enjoy getting boozed off margaritas weekly. However, I noticed that their chips had a weird after taste unlike none I had ever tasted. It wasn't so much that they were old or stale, the taste was just different. The salsa wasn't awful, however not exactly my favorite. Preferred the red over the green. I decided to order the tamale plate. Being hispanic myself, I found that the rice and beans on the plate were severely under-seasoned and pretty bland. I am a fan of using my chips to eat the beans and rice with, however the two together were beyond bland and not very appealing. Not even adding salt & pepper really saved it. The tamales were clearly store bought and smothered with their gravy sauce/cheese. I am not too opposed to this however, because that is the premise for most restaurants around here. The gravy was pretty tasty and the food came out hot. After eating here and reading other yelp reviews, I immediately regretting not getting the fajitas. I will probably try this place again because of the margaritas and will definitely get the fajitas instead. Service was fast and I left relatively satisfied. We have been waiting for this place to open and FINALLY! They have. We've been here twice now and both times were really good experiences. After years of searching for a good Mexican restaurant, I think we've found out spot. I have a different Mexican restaurant so close to my house I could walk to it, but I have never had a good plate of food there yet. My business will be going over here to Eva's from now on, no exception. Chimichangas were great. Stuffed avocado was delicious. The margarita was more potent then I thought it would be. Pretty dang delicious! Price is what makes this place great. I think the only thing i saw over $20 was the fajitas for 2. I got the mexican fajitas for one and they were so good for around $13. It was more than enough food for one person and I'm a big guy that can put it away. My coworker got the Tuesday lunch special which was the stuffed chile and it looked amazing. Definitely will be coming back here for a cheap but good option for that Mexican craving. read more

Went to Eva's to get some Tex-mex. I ordered a combination plate. They brought my meal and there was a spider crawling on my cheese tostada. I turned to my plate of enchiladas and saw a small roach climbing into my plate. I brought this to the attention of the staff and I was told the management was not available and "they probably just fell into your plate..... They offered to remake my meal, however, I wasn't hungry anymore. They never offered an apology but insisted on charging me for the portion of the meal that wasn't affected by these insects (granted, i never had a chance to sample any of my meal). I did drink the tea and payed for the tea. Needless to say I will not be returning since there are plenty of choices for Tex-mex in the area. I was in the woodlands on business looking for a locally owned Mexican restaurant on my way back to houston. Boy did I luck out with this place. Really excellent delicious homemade tasting dishes (combination with crispy beef taco and two cheese enchiladas) that were more flavorful than anyplace in houston. I may take the time to drive here in the future notwithstanding it is 30 miles from my house. It is that good. The enchiladas are some of the freshest and best I have had. read more
