When it comes to acai bowls, Everbowl was on my list of must-tries in San Diego. All the pictures I saw online looked delicious and beautiful so I was immediately drawn in. The location had a clean atmosphere and the workers were really sweet. Unfortunately when it comes to the bowl, my experience fell short. I wasn't aware that the build-your-own option restricts you to a certain amount of toppings per category. I usually love having granola and chia pudding in my bowls, but since these two items were listed as the same category, I could only choose from one. Any "additional" item would be additional charge. Most açaí places I've been to allows you to choose from unlimited toppings, so this was definitely a let down. The bowl itself was standard, everything tasted fresh which I enjoyed. I felt that their bowls were also more expensive than the standard. I disliked that I had to pay more for less. Parking: The parking is not ideal. The plaza requires you to pay after 20 minutes. I made concious effort to make my trip quick, but it still took about 15 minutes.

This place is so slimy. As part of their promotion, the day before they opened, they awarded certain consumers free bowl/base coupons in exhange for Yelp reviews. These coupons state they are valid until July 6th 2024. I go today to redeem my coupon and was told the manager will no longer accept these coupons. I hate businesses that lie to their customers so I didn't buy anything. This store puts up a good theatrics. Go somewhere else.

This could never compare to blue bowl, but it was still solid. It hit post run :) The best part about it was the mango base, it was SOO YUMMY. The chia pudding was pretty bland though, and you only get a limited number of toppings from each category. I liked the fruit! read more

Stopped by Everbowl recently and tried the PB Everbowl, it was absolutely phenomenal. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, from the base to the toppings, and the portions were more than generous. What really impressed me was that the bowl looked exactly like the photo on the menu; which, let's be honest, almost never happens at food spots these days. Service was just as impressive. The staff was fast, professional, and genuinely kind and helpful. They made the experience smooth from start to finish and answered all my questions without hesitation. It's rare to find a place that nails presentation, quality, and service all at once, but Everbowl really delivered. I've already been recommending it to friends and family. Is this the next place that needs a chipotle portion walkout?? $15 for a açaí bowl that's filled up 3/4s of the way, when I asked the employee if he could add more, he respectfully apologized and said that was the accurate portioned serving size. This is not a knock to the employees or the quality but rather the very minimal portions compared to the countless other times we have eaten at everbowl. read more

If you order ahead you still have to go to the register to pay, which makes it a less convenient option than other campus options that do allow pick-up. There is no seating inside, but there are close tables and chairs that are outside. Note: This is on the UCSD campus, so it's not very convenient to go to unless you are already on the campus as you have to pay for parking.

The bathroom is beautifully and nicely decorated but they are super strict about using the bathroom even if you are a customer as they had a bathroom (there is a key you have to ask for) "wanted bandit sign"apparently for vandalizing it....which I understand however When another member of our party came, we went inside and the line was so long we decided to use the bathroom before ordering more, we were in there less than 5 minutes and the owner/manager knocked and knocked, I came out and apologized and asked if she knocked. She did apologize but said other people are waiting. I ordered another juice and was going to order sandwiches and acai bowls but felt like we probably were at cafe more than an hour and out stayed our stay. I understand as a business you have to be strict about the bathroom and that is their policy however if it is a juice/coffee place your customers are bound to use the restroom several times especially if they are continuing to order. Unfortunately, It did turn me away to try the food which I actually was looking forward to as they did offer organic croissant sandwiches. We decided to just choose another place to order food. I'll have to think about returning as we are always in La Jolla for yoga.

This time, I decided to visit their UCSD location, which is right in the middle of University of California San Diego's campus. They open around 10 AM on Saturdays (and typically around 8 AM on weekdays), and even right at opening there were already a lot of people waiting. My friend and I were still able to get in and out pretty quickly around 10. I ended up getting their mango passion base along with açaí. For toppings, I loaded it up strawberries, bananas, apples, blackberries, blueberries they truly have so many options. I also love their variety of nuts, seeds, and different types of nut butters. They really don't skimp on choices. Overall, I would highly recommend stopping by. I was SO full after, and honestly, you could even split a bowl with a friend because they pack it generously. It's about $12 for a normal medium-sized bowl, which I think is worth it for the portion and quality. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. The ambiance is nice it's more of a grab-your-bowl and then sit outside type of vibe, but there is indoor seating as well. Definitely one of my favorite açaí spots, and this location did not disappoint.

We had a ribeye steak to share that was perfectly cooked medium rare and the butter was delicious for the sides. We had the truffle fries and we had the onions on red wine. The onions were my favourite part of the sides. I could not leave without the dessert and we decided to go with a banana foster. They do a table side show that was amazing and it was a delicious dessert. Service throughout the night was great. Overall, I will say that I will be back for Drinks and if we decide to have a meal here, I would definitely get the Caesar salad the onion on red wine side and the banana foster. The steak was good, just not great I would be willing to try a different cut or protein. For the pricetag, I would've expected everything to be great, which is why four.

Review for EverBowl La Jolla - 9/17/24 @ 12:15 PM I am writing to express my profound disappointment with my experience at the EverBowl in La Jolla today. As a loyal and frequent customer--visiting a couple of times a week--I have consistently praised EverBowl and recommended it to family, friends, out of town guests and colleagues. I have even considered opening a franchise and have used EverBowl's catering services for business events and staff appreciation meetings. I have a positive rapport with other locations; regular employees know me, greet me warmly, and some have even kindly offered, "it's on us today." I am a fair and generous tipper with the staff, because I am always treated well and it's been an amazing product at other locations. This was my first visit to this particular location, and unfortunately, it did not meet the standards that I have come to expect from the brand. From the moment my coworker and I entered, we were met with shockingly negative attitudes from both of the employees. Their rudeness and dismissiveness were off-putting and unprofessional, including eye rolls and a lack of courtesy when we asked simple questions. For instance, I asked for a medium bowl, and my coworker wanted a small. The employee rudely and abruptly responded with "regular" or "large." When we asked if they were out of smalls, he simply repeated, "regular" or "large." My coworker declined as she only wanted a small one. However, the ordering process was different from what we have experienced at all other locations. Instead of building my bowl with the base and toppings first, I was instructed to pay upfront, which also automatically prompts you to tip before you've even been served. This left me having to recall my choices from memory. Despite the off-putting first impression, I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt and generously gave them a tip before I had even been served or treated with any respect. When I was charged extra for items that are typically included, I initially didn't question it. However, when I noticed the portion sizes--especially the acai base and almond butter--were significantly less than usual, I kindly asked for more almond butter. She had only put a nickel-sized amount in the bowl, despite the extra charge. The response I received was not only defensive but also rude, stating, "you gotta pay another $1.00." I reiterated that I had already paid extra for almond butter and expected to receive what I paid for. When I pointed out that the portion sizes were less than what I typically receive, the staff's reaction was combative. Instead of addressing my concerns, the male employee argued, "We aren't nickel-and-diming you. We have a product, and you have to pay for it," responding to my feedback with sarcasm and asking, "Do you want your bowl or not?!" I reminded him that I had already paid for the almond butter and extras, explaining that I paid $15.54 for this bowl--more than I pay at several other locations for the same order. His response was once again sarcastic: "Do you want your bowl or not?!" At this point, I requested a refund. While he processed it, I asked for a printed refund receipt, which he refused to provide. When we inquired about his name, he refused to give it, leading my coworker to take a photo for our records. As we walked out, he aggressively chased after us, only to be stopped by an incoming customer. We felt threatened by this employee and his erratic behavior, so we immediately reported the incident to property management and our staff. To the franchise owner: I urge you to review your staff's conduct. Their behavior is damaging your reputation and alienating loyal customers. Given this experience, my coworkers and I, along with others who frequent your location, will no longer be returning. In stark contrast, after leaving EverBowl, I went across the street to Rubicon, where I was warmly greeted by an employee who has worked there for four years and remembered me. She said, "Hi, it is so good to see you! What can I get for you?" I placed my order, and she kindly offered me a drink for free. While I didn't expect such a gesture, it was a refreshing experience that underscored the difference in customer service. I hope EverBowl takes this seriously and addresses these issues promptly to prevent further negative experiences for your customers.
