Once He took time to explain parts being ordered and time frame it'd take, he started right away. I brought my car in on a Thursday, and no joke, come Monday morning, he's calling me letting me know it's ready. Upon arrival, immediately he showed me everything that was done, including showing me the warn out/corroded parts he replaced, did some additional "fixes" at no cost (front light, rotate tires that previously put on wrong, etc). He also suggested a few recommendations that were super helpful. I felt that he priced everything at a great, more than fair price for sure. Dennis made the whole process easy-peasy, and he was both very time efficient and thorough with the work on my car. Its dang near impossible to find real honest, decent, mechanics anywhere anymore, and by the grace of God, and a friends recommendation, I found one! He inspected them and showed me how each one was clean, dry, and completely fine. He then inspected the rest of the engine compartment and the undercarriage and showed me that it was all in great shape. Finally, he noticed that a previous mechanic had removed the plastic shroud for my front wheel wells and failed to install new clips to secure the shroud afterward. I had wondered about the gap he noticed for years, but I didn't realize it was anything other than wear and tear. He replaced the clips for no extra charge. I know it seems like a small thing, but to me, it speaks clearly to Roland's character: I believe he genuinely cares about doing right by his customers and taking good care of their cars. When I asked him about some issues with electronic parts on my car (e.g. a digital dashboard display), he let me know that his area of focus was mechanical service and advised me to take my car to an electrical auto shop. I was grateful that he knew the limits of his expertise, communicated them clearly, and stuck to them. I felt his quoted price was quite reasonable, and even after he performed more work than requested (still within about a 1-hour time slot), he stuck to his original price quote. He spent 40 minutes prying at different parts and trying to forcefully remove my fuse box to get to the 100A fusible link that I had to tell him was located beneath and the assembly had to be unbolted to get to it from underneath. After 40 minutes of painfully watching him attempt to force things open. I politely asked him to stop as it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing and broke a few components off my housing. I tried calling him to let him know of the damages. He denied responsibility and said he was only at my house for 5 minutes. He told me to never contact him again and failed to respond to the before and after photos I sent. Do not trust this shady business. What went from a lb easy replacement of a 100A that I could have done myself but did not have the time to do so, resulted in several hundred dollars of parts in addition to more for labor due to gross incompetence. DO NOT TRUST HIM!

It was a smooth booking process online, I was able to schedule a 11:30am appointment. Location was easy to find in downtown and has enough parking space. Went into the office to check in around 11:23am. However found out the technician that does smog went out to lunch and will be back in an hour. So I will have to wait and come back. I was not expecting that and was slightly annoyed since I made the appointment time for 11:30am and expected to be done in 30 minutes and get back to work. If there was an appointment time available and someone booked it, I would expect a business to honor the customer's time and continue with the business before going on lunch. If an employee is to go to lunch, then do not make that time available for booking. So I gave the business the benefit of the doubt and just went with it...I just dropped the car off and walked to a near by area for lunch and wait for an hour and half. Overall, my smog check was done a little before 1pm with under 8 minutes to spare. It was done at the time they promised..and the person in the office was nice. All in all..I'm okay with the visit..probably will come back but probably will not book an appointment at 11:30am again, maybe earlier or later. But do check it out for your smog test..

The transmission in my 2015…read moreBuick LaCrosse has been running rough for a couple years now, been able to limp along but got to the point where it had to be replaced. At 150K I got my money's worth, but I was faced with the choice of getting a new transmission (which costs more the the vehicle is currently worth) or junking the car and buying a new vehicle. Unfortunately, can't afford a new car payment right now, and I know my engine is still in great shape as I maintain all my vehicles carefully and on schedule and I can probably (hopefully) get another 100K out of it. Discussed options with Don, and we both felt a used transmission would be the most cost effective option given the vehicle age and history. He found a low mileage used transmission that was in good shape and installed it for me in a matter of a couple days. But what he did on top of that is why I will be a customer for life. I mentioned in passing that I've been having emissions codes pop up, and given that I was still running the original O2 sensors, I'd bought new ones that I was going to install on my own. I asked if he'd be willing to put them in for me when the transmission was out, simply because access would be so much easier at that time, rather than me at home laying on the garage floor with the car on jack stands, trying to wrap my arms around the tranny to get to the top of the unit where the spots on the manifold are. He was willing to do that for me, and in so doing, he actually noticed that my manifold had some cracks where the ports connect to the engine. Don, on his own, took my manifold off, brought it to his house after work, and fixed the cracks with his welder. All on his own time and dime. He reinstalled it for me, along with the O2 sensors, before reinstalling the transmission. Who the heck does things like this anymore, if ever? This is like the kind of care and service people got decades ago. And why this is exceptionally meaningful to me is, I'm soon to be laid off from work in October, and my wife is fighting through a recurrence of thyroid cancer. We've been struggling emotionally. I was so moved by this I literally teared up when I picked it up. It was such a damn sweet gesture. Getting wet eyed just typing this. Just a wonderful man running a great crew who does awesome work.

Jim is a wizard with automobiles. He diagnosed the "squeeky - whirring" sound problem in my 2014 Mustang by ear. I was convinced it was coming from the rear-end and would likely be thousands of dollars to fix, since it is out of warranty. Jim repaired the problem by removing the belt to the alternator and turning it around! It took about 15 minutes for him to show me the problem and explain exactly what he was doing. If it ever develops another issue, I will be back for Jim to diagnose and repair it. I'm a repeat customer and my other car is an older model with many needed repairs. He previously replaced a radiator at a fair price, and gave me a complete list of my vehicles problems and their priorities. He is a really friendly, honest mechanic who can fix any car or truck. I moved from Southern California and left a great mechanic. I feared I would never find someone like that again. Well Jim at Eve's Automotive proved me wrong. He is even better than the mechanic I had. He is very honest. If he can't find the problem he doesn't invent a problem to fix and charge you for it. He tells you like it is. He explains the problems so you can understand it. He charges a fair price for his services. He goes above and beyond to help solve or fix the problem. I have gone into his shop more times than I would like because I had an old crappy car that just needed to be retired. He fixed every single problem it had and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. One of life's essentials is finding a good auto repair shop. Eve's Automotive exceeds every standard one could set. Jim and his crew know that the key to success is to get and keep customers and keep getting and keeping them. Eve's is about excellence, expertise, respect, and honesty. Diagnosis is their first step and Jim told me that I had a leak in my transmission pan (there was very slight seeping) that should be covered by Subaru's warranty. He tuned-up our vehicle perfectly and Subaru confirmed that he was right and fixed stat no cost. Jim has also tuned up my 1992 Lexus 400 and it now purrs as if it had just left the factory. Jim is an AWESOME mechanic. Very good communicator and completely forthright and honest - hard to find these days ! He has been doing all of the maintenance of our two 2013 family vehicles (and the older ones - now gone) for at least 5 years or more. Like most good experiences in life - the better they are the harder they are to get to ! He is so busy now that you have to make an appointment for even general servicing but it is worth it. After multiple other mechanics couldn't figure out what was wrong with my Honda Civic, it turned off and wouldn't start again while I was on the Freeway. Other mechanics may have tried to fix the problem by just replacing parts until something worked. However, Jim took his time to really figure out what was going on with my car. Could not be happier with the work done by Jim. We were well on the tract to having to buy a new car because of a funny noise coming from an unknown location. Two years ago, I took my 1986 Chevrolet van to Smog N Go on Orchard Loop Lane in Elk Grove for a smog check, and it failed due to an evaporative leak. Looking for answers, I brought the van to John at Auto Express. John performed a smog test, and the van passed. I returned to Smog N Go with John's test results, certificate, and a video of the test being performed, and they refunded my payment. From that moment, it was clear that John's integrity and expertise made all the difference. Last week, I returned to Smog N Go for another smog check, and once again my van failed--this time because of a reported gross evaporative leak and timing said to be set at 18 degrees BTDC, even though the correct specification is 4 degrees BTDC. It was a frustrating moment, but it also reminded me of the value of having someone you can truly rely on. I brought the van back to John at Auto Express, and once again it passed the smog test. John discovered that the wrong vapor line had been pinched during the evaporative test, which likely caused both this failure and the one from two years earlier. He also took the time to investigate why the timing had been set to 18 degrees BTDC by carefully examining the distributor, vacuum advance, and vapor lines. In doing so, he found that the vacuum advance was not working properly. What impressed me most was not just that he solved the problem, but that he approached it with patience, care, and a commitment to finding the truth. John was thorough, knowledgeable, and transparent every step of the way. He explained the issues clearly, replaced the faulty vacuum advance along with damaged vacuum and vapor lines, reset the timing to 4 degrees BTDC, and provided a smog certificate for my van--all within just a few hours. I left not only impressed by his skill and professionalism, but also grateful for his honesty and dedication. Even though I live in Elk Grove, I will gladly continue bringing my vehicles to John, because people like him restore your faith that exceptional service, integrity, and true craftsmanship still exist.

It turns out I bought the wrong filter, but Ron had a spare and still charged me cheap for it. Great place and will start going here for my oil changes now.

Now I will be going out of my way to use a different shop after my disappointing experience here. After a $200 examination, I was told that I had some kind of major oil leak, and that I needed an alignment, as well as recommended I replace the steering gear box. Oil Leak - Since the tech made it sound like it was really bad, and yet I hadn't seen any signs of a leak beforehand, I asked him about that. He suggested I check my driveway. I responded that I already do, and it's completely clean. His response? "Maybe you just haven't noticed". Well, I checked when I got home, and every day for weeks after this appointment, and still... zero oil spots. My SUV is parked in my clean driveway 80% of the time and it's still clean as a whistle. The alignment - My SUV does not pull in any direction. At least not more than any average car might on uneven roads. I've driven vehicles that needed an alignment before, and this isn't that. The Steering box - They quoted $2,500 to replace my steering box. The break down was $1,400 for labor, and $1,100 for parts. The average cost to replace that same part in my exact model SUV anywhere else: between $800 and $900, for parts and labor. You do the math. Anyhow, after my appointment here I made time that weekend to leave my SUV with another shop that had come recommended by someone else. The owner of that shop, a man who's been in the auto business for literally decades, said he was appalled by the quote Jack Dane gave me. I paid another $200 for him to do his own examination. Guess what? No alignment necessary, steering box is completely fine, and no oil leak found(just average seepage, cleaned up no problem). Want more proof that these guys are not to be trusted? The initial reason I brought it in was because the transmission seemed to slip a little, mostly when my SUV was cold. My particular model doesn't have a dipstick for the trans fluid so I wanted an expert to check all of that out. The Jack Dane tech noted on my invoice: "Observed trans fluid at recommended levels". Guess what? The other tech, with more experience, showed me that the trans fluids were actually almost 2 full quarts LOWER than the recommended levels. He even brought it over to another tech who is even more experienced with transmissions and that guy confirmed it was definitely too low and likely causing what I was experiencing. He topped off my trans fluid for me, and guess what again? The cold slipping issue completely vanished. A month later and it's running good as new, and still no oil spots anywhere I park. DO NOT trust this shop.

However, i had dropped my vehicle off down the street at an auto shop, and while it was getting worked on, I walked down to the auto parts store (autozone). I received a call on my cell but did not have a pen to write information down. I walked in to this broadway shop and asked if i could borrow a pen real quickly. The lady at the front desk, (hispanic maybe, big nose) was sooo rude. I told her that i just needed to jot something down real quick. She kept saying, take and go. Get out of here. (In a very rude tone). Multiple times!!!! I understand west cap is not the best area, but I show nothing but respect at any establishment that I go to. Hey lady, I worked for wspd for 5 years, but I guess because my Cadillac was getting some work done and I was on foot you thought less of me? So disappointed and felt so disrespected. Be kind to humans. Dont judge people.

I went in for my 30K mile check-up. The estimate seemed high when I looked it over hours later. I was accustomed to 4 years of trust with the business. I called and alerted Pauls that I felt the estimate was high and they reduced it by about 10%. I then contacted Meita Toyota and got an estimate for $400 less. I am very disappointed with my experience at Pauls and I will not be going back.

I do NOT recommend this business. They said my suspension needed to be fixed and charged me $1300…read more It was worse after the "repair" and and took it back again and still not great. I took it to another trusted mechanic and it has to be fixed/new strut because of the work Turning Wrenches did. They also claimed I needed a new battery. When I told them my battery had been replaced a few months prior by AAA, they "tightened a few wires" and told me it was fine. And they told me I needed new rear breaks, which again was confirmed by another mechanic that I did not. When I called to try to resolve my concerns, I was treated very poorly.
