Escape room was disappointing. There was no real intro or story. The room wasn't fully reset where some things were not put back. Solved some puzzles and nothing happened until staff had to step in. Zero feeling of accomplishment when you finish, just blinking light and someone on walkie told us we were done. read more

This was so much fun!!! We went on New Years Eve day as an alternative to a day outing. At first we looked at the prices, $38 per person and almost did not go. We looked around for a Groupon or discount code and could not find one and finally settled on splurging a bit. Let me just say that it was so worth going, it was the best 54 minutes we spent. I say 54 minutes because you have 1 hour to escape the room but we did it with 6 minutes remaining. Woohoo! You book the room online and show up 20 minutes before your scheduled time. Upon arrival you check in at the self check in Kiosk, where you'll enter some information, take a picture and sign a waiver...you know...just in case you get stuck in a room forever and you can't go home to your family! JUST KIDDING. Then we were advised to wait in the waiting area. There were a bunch of comfy sofas and tables with intellectual games to kill time while waiting. I have to say the ambiance and decoration really gets you in the mood for the rooms. It's dim and kind of spooky in a way. The entrance to one of the rooms; Geneva Trail is visible and it's decorated exactly like the entrance to a cabin in the woods. Kinda eerie. Once it was our turn, the girl in charge of our 3 person group took us in a smaller room to explain the rules of the escape room. Pretty simple. Her role was to get us in the mood of the room and tried to scare us a bit. The only complaint was that she seemed shy and timid and looked like she needed to rehearse her role a little bit more. Someone more energetic would've totally scared us! She might of been new who knows. Overall she was nice but needed more confidence. Anyways, she delegated the walkie talkie to me. You have 3 tries to ask for clues if you get stuck and therefore that explains the use of the walkie talkie. We were instructed to get in a line and hold on to each others shoulders while she slowly took us in a simulated slow conga line to our room blindfolded. In reality I think we were just going in circles around the place but it is meant to sort of disorient you and get you nervous. We were taken individually into the room and were instructed to keep blindfolds on till the person on the speaker finished speaking. Person on speaker spoke, blindfolds went off and ......SORRY I can't say the rest because it will ruin it for you and you have to figure it out for yourself!!! All I can say is that there was more than one room to escape in our room... By the way it was the TWO THIRTY NINE room that has an 8/10 difficulty and medium intensity, I got scared a couple times. It was intense but got your brains thinking major brainstorming. It's easier if you go with smart friends or people that think outside the box. Pro Tip: Perfect spot to bring a date or potential mate to see how they react in certain situations, their patience and level of intellect. ;) They have two other rooms; Geneva Trails and Dine in at Dusk which is new. I must come back to do both. My daughter said she did the Geneva Trail and it was super hard to escape and scary at the same time. Minimum person are 3 for all rooms and necessary (you'll understand why) but some rooms accommodate up to a group of 10 people. Evolution Escape Rooms is located inside of Xtreme Action Park in Ft. Lauderdale. There's a private parking lot that is free to park in. Could get full depending on time of day, weekends, etc. When you exit you can stay and enjoy other fun activities in Xtreme Action Park but not necessary. The escape room is a blast on it's own. Final disclosure.. I'm giving it 4 stars not 5 (maybe 4.5) only because it is pricey. If you're treating someone else, it could become an expensive outing. Even though the quality and experience is fun, I think the price should be adjusted. I have no idea how teenagers or younger adults or single moms with kids could afford to go. They should offer discount codes to come back and try other rooms! read more

Evolution Escape Room at Extreme Action Park made a reservation for 8 players on 11/24/22 at 7:15 PM yet when we showed up the location was closed. We were never contacted to let us know they made a mistake on the reservation and to inform us they were closed. The next day I contacted them and not only did they refuse to provide a refund they didn't even as much offer an apology for their error. I was told they would contact be by the end of that day by someone who could give me a refund. I have never been contacted again by them and haven't had any of my phone calls returned. I have filed a complaint with the Bette Business Bureau and informed my credit card company of the fraudulent charge for services not rendered. I think their action speak for them selves and would recommend you find another escape room in the area that is more ethical. read more

I was looking for something fun to do with my family. We decided to go to Evolution Escape. The website says that 3 people are required to run the room. We had 3 people so it was perfect! Upon arrival, we were told that we needed to pay for 5 people to play. Talk about bait and switch. In their frequently asked questions, it says that to get a private room, you have to buy all available tickets. We were cool with just buying the 3 and having a public room. The Evolution team was not. They insisted upon the 5 person minimum that was written exactly NOWHERE. I spoke with a manager named James and he was unhelpful. He stuck to the company line. I spoke with his manager (CeCe?) and she told me that I had misread the advertising (which I had not). They'd rather leave the room empty than allow us to pay for just the 3 people. It's absurd. I'm a reasonable person, if there's a room rate, state it. If there's a minimum, state it. Don't say a minimum of 3 and then charge for 5. It's a pretty simple concept. I'd recommend avoiding this place along with its parent organization Xtreme Action Park. read more

This place is lame if you go to xtreme do everything BUT the escape rooms! When me and my group went we were asking for hints and would have to wait up to five minutes just to get one. I had an absolute blast doing Two Thirty Nine with my friends! I liked how it only allowed up to 6 people, so my friends and I were able to fill it without worrying about getting stuck with strangers (hate that). The room had great puzzles with clever clues. It definitely felt like we were trying to escape and with a sense of urgency. VERY realistic! I've done several escape rooms that felt too fake, not this one! They did something I had never done before. They take you to the room blindfolded! You start in the main area where they go over the "rules" (standard escape room protocol) and then they give you blindfolds to wear. You then walk in a line with your hand on each other's back to the room (employee leads of course). Then you are sat down, door is shut, sounds start, and you take your blindfold off and... ESCAPE! Sounds silly but this made it all the more mysterious and "real." Highly recommend. I loved it! read more

First off, the customer service was wonderful. I have absolutely no complaints about EER. The employees answer all of your questions and are super kind. We were greeted by Melisa, who is awesome. She had a great attitude and was very willing to make our experience a great one. My friends and I were all first-timers and were a bit anxious but had a good time. Had so much fun! I'm really claustrophobic and didn't think I'd like it. But the room was nice and air conditioned. It also helped that we had walkie talkies to speak with staff for clues. If you've never done a Professional escape room, this one was alright. Interesting props but not that many puzzles to fill an hour. I would expect every group to be able to get out. And the quality of the puzzles were not very good. Word jumbles and such. Pressing buttons with what might be the right answer but no feedback as to whether what you are doing actually is registering. There are plenty of better places out there. Joshua recommended the Depths of Osiris virtual reality, and he was definitely spot on. We had never experienced a virtual reality escape room before and it was so surreal! You literally feel like you are underwater exploring tombs/temples with sharks attacking you if your not careful! Just enough intensity to feel freaked out and difficulty to get your mind thinking outside the box. India was at the desk and super sweet and helpful and accommodating. Had our first experience with and Escape Room last night and it was incredible! We chose to do the VR escape room because we didn't feel we had enough people to do the hard level room that was available at the time. We completed Dragon Tower where you have to escape from being captured. Honestly, we weren't sure how the experience would be with VR but it was so cool and well worth it. The clues do actually help you advance and the employee supervising will help as well just to nudge you in the right direction. My "hands" ended up not working correctly in the beginning and our supervisor, Sal, was great! Worked quickly to get it resolved while still joking with me to keep me in the action I was missing. Additional time was added for us to solve the final level for the difficulties I had, which we were greatful for because we really wanted to meet the dragon LOL. All around, exceeded our expectations and all of the employees were great! read more

The ambiance of the room and the waiting areas were fully immersive and amazing. The game itself seemed to be decent as well, however, my party was not able to enjoy it. When we arrived we were a few minutes early so we were escorted to the waiting area until it was time to view our intro video. Once it was time, we were ushered into a small room and seated. They began explaining the rules before we were interrupted by another worker and old that we had two more that would be joining us. When they arrived, the first thing the female announced was that the pair were extremely intoxicated. "We just downed some Long Islands at the bar and we are very drunk," she informed us. Eventually, after many interruptions by the intoxicated girl, we finished going over the rules and watched the video that explained the premise of the room. Once the video was over we were informed that we had to wait in the room as there was another party of four that would be joining our group. They told us that they were signing their waivers and that they would get briefed on the rules but that they wouldn't actually go through the full introduction that we got. Our guide informed us that typically she would not have allowed anyone to join so late and especially after we had already started our pregame intro, but she had been on break when the other employee had agreed to let them join. When we were finally allowed to start our game is when the real problems started. Imagine six sober individuals attempting to find clues and keys while two intoxicated individuals are wandering around the room and moving things all over the room. Once we got the second room open, my party wasn't able to contribute much because of the number of people inside the room. There were ten of us and only maybe half or less could fit into the second room. Personally, I never went into the room and have no idea what puzzles were solved within. When we got into the third room, it was dark and we only had one flashlight and one black light. This made it difficult to really examine the room. It was also in this room that the intoxicated female passed out cold. At no point in time did any staff member contact us or enter the room to check on the girl and we were told in the beginning that they would be watching us at all times. Thankfully, she came around not long after but then rushed from the room as soon as we got the door open to be sick. The game was finally finished, but our party was pretty unsatisfied due to the fact that we had just been locked in a room with two drunk people and had paid $150 to be there. The fact that they were so intoxicated that they kept walking around asking what was going on and then one of them passed out did NOT make for an enjoyable experience. When our concerns were brought up to an employee they told us that there was nothing that they could do and that when we signed up for the game that we were warned that we could be sharing the room with other people. Sharing the room wasn't the issue that we had, it was the fact that two of the group members were so heavily intoxicated. Not once did they show concern for the fact that someone passed out in the room. Eventually, they offered us 10% off and advised us to visit on a weekday instead of a weekend. read more

One of the top escape rooms in quality! The craftsmanship and little nuances in the rooms were the "cherry on top" of a superb experience. My friends and I decided to celebrate another end to a long week at work at Evolution Escape Rooms. The escape room we did was fun but the locks were really hard to open even if you got the right combination, and to our lack of knowledge at the time, one of the combinations we guessed properly didn't open the lock, and we weren't able to get the next clue to finish the game. Unfortunately even though we couldn't finish the game because the lock jammed, the staff refused to reimburse us even after I brought it to their attention. Otherwise it had really cool decorations and was intellectually challenging, if only the lock didn't jam. 3 out of 5. read more

Seriously, no words can describe how much fun this really was but I'll try! A group of 6 of us went for a friends birthday and I was kind of nervous! First of all-the details put into the cabin (our room) was incredible! I'm not going to give away details but there were so many complex levels to this room. The room made you think more than any other room we've experienced elsewhere. The staff was incredible, super friendly, super helpful and funny. All I want to do is talk about how much fun I had while there, I'm trying to get my family or co-workers together to do a room! We made it out of the escape room with 3 minutes to spare! A whopping 57 minutes in the escape room. Worth the money. Worth any wait there could be. Go go go. You will NOT regret it! 100/10 would go and do another room! read more
