    Jajang noodles

Barely 30 minutes into lunch service, so we expected to see one or two groups of diners at most. Instead, we walked into a bustling room chockfull of people, some of whom had yet to order, apparently. There was one front-of-house staff literally hopping and running around the room taking and bringing out orders, so after what felt like 20 minutes, we were seated and so the 5-star experience began. - Jajang with green noodles: possibly one of the best we've had EVER. The smoky flavour of the onions, sleek, warm, tender noodles, and the odd zucchini and pork all made for a knockout bowl of jajang. 5/5 - Sweet and sour pork: tender chunky pork with light batter, sticky sauce with an apple curry tinge, and a colourful mix of veggies. My only wish is for a bit more of those crunchy fresh veggies. 4.5/5 The staff is forgiven for not checking on us once, and the place otherwise seemed to be run like a well-oiled machine. It seems also that you could pay at the register or have the staff bring three cheque to the table. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

The food is okay. Just average and nothing to write home about. We ordered jjamppong and the seafood iron plate jjajang. To our taste, jjamppong was spicy and salty. I thought the jjajang was on the sweet and greasy side, and while my brother agreed with me, he said he also caught a weird spicy flavor in his first bite. Radish kimchi was absolutely the worst with a weird petroleum? acetone? type of taste and scent. No one else ate it after my experience. We ordered delivery from here using Uber Eats because we wanted to take advantage of a deal and it was the only Korean Chinese that was available, but it's definitely not worth paying full price. If you have the time to spare, it's better to check out better options further south in Bergen County.

4% off your bill if you pay in cash. I enjoyed the fried dumplings as an appetizer. Everything tastes better fried and this was perfectly crunchy and airy. The stir fried vegetables with tofu, while ordinary, was still better than my expectations. I'm a fan of tofu and this one is fried and goes with the theme that anything fried is good. Onto the entrees and we got more fried things. I e ordered kkanpungi and I had better elsewhere. The sauce flavor was a tad too sweet. Jjangmyeon with the green noodles was good but I would give the edge to the brisket jampong.

I LOVE this restaurant! Great ambiance, amazing staff and delicious food. They have an diverse flare of Korean inspired Chinese dishes and what a great combination all of their dishes are. This time I ordered their Spicy shrimp with stir fried vegetables, which also came with a side of soup. I will say, the dish traditionally comes with peanuts but since I am allergic, they customized my order. The shrimp were a great size and the flavors of the dish had me wanting more! A little on the spicy side so next time I know to ask for less or no spice. Overall, amazing restaurant!

Looove their jjajangmyun. They're always generous with the portions and everything is so tasty. It's hard to find Korean-Chinese restaurants with jjajangmyun and jjamppong you get in Korea (iykyk) but this is one of the very few places in Bergen that I approve of, personally!

Overall, I'm going to say... no but okay? The jajangmyun is definitely NOT the best here. There was almost a burnt flavor for the fried jajangmyun... it was weird lol. The japjae bab is good if you want something less oily, but still, of course nothing is healthy here. The one with spicy peppers is okay but there is not enough protein at all; probably like three pieces of small beef. I was not happy. The tansuyook is meh; almost had a heart attack watching my sister drink the sugar sauce. The jampong is better than jajangmyun and you will not find any healthier options here. Price is ok, but I would not come back at all unless I was forced to. Side story: I was in the bathroom and the lights turned off and I was just in the dark for a while rip

I was so excited to try Korean style Chinese food! My friends ordered several dishes to try! The was super spicy. My friends said it was abnormally spicy and they also felt pain while eating it . We also got a seafood soup which was delicious and which is like a pineapple chicken and sweet which we really needed to balance the spicy black noodles!

I have never had freshly made jjajangmyeon, only the instant variety, but I've seen so many videos online and TV shows that have glorified this noodle dish to celebrity status. I've had the original inspiration, the Chinese zhajiangmian, which is fundamentally different from the Korean-Chinese jjajangmyeon, and thus doesn't count! I told Mikaela of my plight and she took me here to try it for myself. For good measure, we also ordered tangsuyuk, sweet & sour crispy pork, which came with the eponymous sweet and sour sauce in a separate dish, allowing us to control how the crispy pork would be sauced. We opted to pour the sauce over some of the pork, and then allow the rest to be dipped to our delight. Our jjajangmyeon came and was big! Our noodles were green which is super cool! It was a lot of food between the two of us, and I could barely finish my jjajangmyeon. We took the tangsuyuk to go but the lady suggested we not pour sauce over it because it would get too soggy by the time we got home. No sauce. I was satisfied knowing I got to try non-instant jjajangmyeon. The flavor was nice, nothing too extreme, though it got a bit much trying to finish it all. I kind of wished there was a little extra kick (I don't know what kind of kick) but that's also not jjajangmyeon. I was still satisfied! Servers were all nice and service was quick!

A well deserved night of delicious Chinese takeout food. Ordered moo shoo beef with pancakes (thin…read morewraps) was soo good -fried wings pork fry rice -you can tell it was freshly made nice and hot. Never had eggplant and garlic sauce and it was very good. Boneless ribs came with white rice . My son doesn't like vegetables so on his sesame chicken I requested veggie out and it was perfect. Everything we ordered was so much they were not cheap with their servings . The lady Taking the order was making sure no other orders had special instructions-since I requested no veggies for one. Ambiance doesn't apply because I ordered takeout. Will definitely order from New Ho Won again.

NY Strip Steak Cheeseburger & Fries Here is the novelty regarding all of these appetizing entrees; they were all prepared from a Chinese take out restaurant! While most of the double sided menu offers Asian cuisine, there is one section specifically geared for American dishes! And the best part is it all tastes fantastic! The starters are on par. They taste identical to what you'd get served at a pub. The cheeseburger was a juicy, giant patty served on a brioche bun. The burger exceeds a Quarter Pounder in terms of taste and size! The steak was also decent, but make sure you have your favorite bottle of steak sauce handy! It's not Longhorn quality, but you'll still get your money's worth and will be satisfied. The calamari was more chewy than crispy, but it wasn't the worst I've had. In fact, it tastes better when I re-heated it in the oven for my preferred level of crispiness. There isn't any indoor seating, so take their outdoor sign literally. If you are looking for delicious non-Asian dishes at reasonable prices at a Chinese spot, this is the place to go.

This has been one of my favorite places to order Chinese from. I think they changed owners/chefs…read morerecently because it was absolutely awful the last time I ordered last week. To start, they got our order wrong, ok...It happens, but it all went downhill from there. The Sesame Chicken was completely overdone, it was like shoe leather, it's usually outstanding. It had about four sesame seeds on it. We asked for it extra spicy, and it didn't have even a hint of spice. They were supposed to send Beef with garlic sauce, instead they sent some absolutely tasteless chicken dish with what looked like boiled tiny strips of chicken with some vegetables and a TON of that gross baby corn. It was flavorless. We got the combos, so they came over pork fried rice and an egg roll. The rice was mealy, mushy and flavorless. We usually love their rice, it tasted entirely different. There was nothing fried about it, hands down worst pork fried rice I've ever had. The egg roll was hard and greasy with just cabbage inside. Again flavorless. The boneless ribs were just ok, nothing like how they usually are. They are usually very tender and flavorful. These were lacking flavor and fatty. The Wonton soup was completely different as well. What are usually pillowy soft wontons, were thick and gummy. The broth tasted like bath water. So the entirety of our meal tasted NOTHING like the Empire we know and love. This is so disappointing. The same thing happened with Chen's Yummy House. Every time that we find a great place, they change hands and it goes to crap. I just figured I'd warn everyone that this place is NOT the same. I thought maybe they just had a bad night, but I looked at recent Google reviews before posting this, and I see a similar complaint. This was so bad that I don't even think I'll give them another chance for redemption. Every single component of our meal sucked, and we were out $50.

Madison Ave…read more Dumont, NJ 07628 General Tso's Chicken Dinner Combo Boneless Spare Ribs Dinner Combo Located on the intersection of Madison Avenue and Veterans Plaza is a locally owned Chinese takeout spot. Out of all the choices on the takeout menu, I decided to explore the two most popular plates. General Tso's Chicken Dinner Combo: The hot, spicy chicken is chewy on the inside while slightly crunchy on the outside; expect a mild kick. I'm satisfied broccoli was included, but my only critique is that I would have preferred that the vegetable was mixed in with the tangy sauce. Also included with this combo is pork fried rice and wonton soup. The three wontons and the broth were piping hot. The noodles go hand in hand with the soup. It is a win win whether you choose to have them dry or soaked. Boneless Spare Ribs Dinner Combo: The ribs are tender and chewy with a savory taste. For this combo, I explored the white rice and egg roll. This appetizer was filled with cabbage and ground pork. I enjoyed it, but the size of the egg roll could have been slightly larger with a tad bit more pork. Both combos can also be purchased as a lunch special if you arrive between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. An adequate amount of seating is available if you decide to dine in. Empire Szechaun is open six days per week; arrive any day except Tuesday. I highly recommend this location if you are on the go and need a quick meal, especially the two popular menu items. #chinesefood #chinesetakeout #generaltsoschicken #bonelessspareribs #eggrolls #wontonsoup #whiterice #porkfriedrice #dinnercombo #foodstagram #localbusiness #chinesebusiness #foodreview #foodstagram #njfoodie
