The week prior to me bringing my truck into the shop I spoke with a mechanic from this shop who stated that a nitrogen oxide sensor replacement should be around $600 including $200 for diagnostics, $200 for the part, and $200 for labor. The next week I brought my truck in and dropped it off. I honestly had a bad feeling from the beginning of my experience with this shop. I was asked to sign a form for the $200 diagnostic test without being told what I was signing. The front desk guy just said sign here. I then get a phone call from the same guy about an hour later saying that it's going to cost me $1300 (more than double what they quoted me originally). The front desk guy named Ben was not helpful so I spoke with the mechanic whom stated that all additional procedures are standard for replacing a nitrogen oxide sensor and needed to happen. Including: -Replace air filter ($75) -Perform a stationary regeneration ($186) -Clean mass flow sensor ($130) -Also the nitrogen oxide sensor was now going to cost $426 instead of the expected $200 (there are hundreds of these online for $200 or less from the GM manufacturers). I called the shop several times asking for them to email me an invoice. They continued to say that they will send it to me and never did. On the third time of me talking to the shop, the same guy that I had spoken to multiple times previously, asked for my email address so that he could send me the invoice. Quite odd, giving that he said that he was going to send it hours before. I checked my email and found that I had received an invoice for a different vehicle for a different customer with all of their personal information. I called back again, and finally received my invoice. You are beginning to see the theme here. Incompetent and unprofessional. This whole experience has been a massive waste of money and time. When I finally go to pick up my truck, there are additional fees for the diagnostic test that are referred to as shops supplies. When Ben is asked what those are exactly he doesn't know (shocking I know). He says they just charge those for everybody. Also, this crooked shop charges a $25 fee for using a credit card. I can go on and on. This place is the exact reason this industry has the reputation that they do. Treat people with respect. Stop with all the hidden fees and low estimates to get people in the door. BEWARE THESE GUYS DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DIESELS!!!!!! Being in the diesel repair you would think they would know about common issues with diesel trucks but i was wrong! Charged me 2500.00 for (4) new driver side injectors on my 03 chevy duramax. only to get 300 miles down the road headed back to Ohio only to find its doing the same exact thing! Getting 3-4 gallons of fuel in the oil. Long story short they told me to get screwed. Even after i had 100% proof that they half ass the job and the tech just didnt want to do the hard side (passenger side) After getting home and removing the motor. We found 2 bad injectors and the banjo bolt washers was finger tight on the passenger side. So now i need a 8000.00 motor because the job was not diagnosed correctly. See you in court! I sure wish i would have seen all these bad reviews before i went here.. Not the fake ones on their website! read more

First of all, THANK YOU. Second, here's my story. It was a rainy day in Littleton and I was off to a movie. As I pulled out of my parking spot, it became ridiculously hard to steer my car. This was a moment of extreme frustration because I just had my new used car "completely repaired" by another shop (stay tuned for that review). Anyway, the stars aligned for me because Excel Diesel and SUV was nearby. I strong-armed my car into their parking lot and they welcomed my charming beat up SUV into their garage with open arms. They told me there would be no charge to look at it. I let them know I would have the work done under warranty by this other shop. Still they looked it over, called me back quickly and I could tell they were rooting for me to hold the other shop responsible for repair instead of pushing me to keep it in their shop. I have called them back multiple times with questions and requests for paperwork and they have been nothing but accommodating. You can tell this shop has good people with good intentions working for them. I will be sure to take my little SUV to them for all other repairs, once this other shop takes care of what they broke. I had a lot of work done to the truck and the total started getting pretty high, the manager helped me out as much as he could and ended up taking $60 off. Took my daughter's car there to have a timing belt and water pump replaced. Less than 30 days after the work was done the water pump began leaking. While there I also asked them to do a thorough inspection to verify that the vehicle was in good enough condition to let my daughter drive. 30 days later, the water pump is leaking and the exhaust manifold is and has been broken. Calls to this person about the defective materials or workmanship about the water pump went unanswered. We had no choice but to hire a competent mechanic to fix their mistakes. The water pump was not installed correctly according to the second mechanic. There's lots of places who can work on your car, this isn't one of them. read more

I've had them work on my truck a few times. They've been ok. However I was going to haul a horse across the country and brought my truck in for a multi point inspection. They changed the oil and said everything was ok. 500 miles into the trip the brakes started grinding. By the time I could find a place to put the horse and get the brakes repaired it was too late. One trashed rotor and $700 later I was back on the road. Very disappointed and will not be back. How can you not check the brakes on a " multi point inspection"? read more

I took my dodge truck in due to it being hard to start. After having it for 4 days and charging me $500, it not only ran worse, it took a lot of effort to get it to start. I tried to start it to go home but couldnt get it to fire up. Their mechanic came out to give it a try. He couldnt start it either and ended up locking my keys inside. I had to call my son to bring a soare set. Excel didnt even apologize for the hassle they caused. During the time it was there they claimed it had strange electrical wiring. I bought the truck brand new so i know it hasnt had anything done like that. It is a 6 speed manual and they were convinced that someone had installed a remote start in it which i dont think is even possible. They will certainly not see my truck again. Ended up taking it to another shop that promptly figured out and fixed the problem. read more

These guys are terrible go somewhere else where they will fix it right. Had these guys replace coolant hoses on my truck, the tech put the top hose in tight next to the brake master Cylinder and it wore a hole within 3 months through the hose and left me stranded blowing coolant all over the place. Also had them replace glow plugs when they did that They disconnected water sensor off bottom of fuel filter and never reconnected, lost a bunch of my fender wedge plugs that hold the wheel well covers in place they also didn't bother putting the clips that hold wiring to the fenders back in place either so they can just bounce around lucky they didn't fall down on the manifold and cause me more trouble. There prices are outrageous and their work is as shoddy as it gets read more

Recently I took it in for just an oil and fuel filter change, but asked them to just check everything else out. They noticed the coolant was low and instead of just topping it off they investigated it and found a hole in my radiator. They were able to get it repaired quickly and my almost 20 year old truck is running better than it has in years!!! read more

i was a little tentative reading the reviews but i am glad i took my son's jeep in here. we had an oil change, done quickly and the same day i requested an appointment. There are a few things wrong with his jeep, and we already knew about one of them, so i appreciated Ralph letting us know what needed to be done. and he wasn't high pressure at all. I think I have found our jeep service/repair place, and that is great since we've only owned toyotas and already have a great service place (right next door to Excel), but we didn't know where to go for our jeep. read more

I took my TDI in for an emissions test. I walked out paying over $500. I had just put in new glow plugs and needed the code reset. They told me it came back on after they reset it and then charged me $165 diagnostic fee to tell me that the glow plugs that I had just put in the day before were broken. I believe the tech broke the connectors on 3 of 4 plugs when removing the harness (accident or not) causing me to need 4 new plugs and a new harness. What a scam....If the code says it's a bad glow plug, and the first thing you check is the glow plugs, why charge me $165 for diagnostics? I will not be using this business again. Beware.. these people also own Ken Caryl Imports (Parker Imports, Castle Rock Imports) located in the same building as Excel Diesel. read more

These business is terrible. Took my truck in for an inspection and they tried to say I had the wrong oil filter and never even checked it then tried to say the motor need to be pulled out and new deals put in it. Next the guy informed me the parking brakes were attached to the dust shield in which they are really attachéd to the axles not dust shields and then tried to say the turbo wasn't working when it reads 32lbs of boost. Also tried to tell me the four wheel drive wasn't working but when u put in four wheel drive it spins all tires. Don't pay this place any money cause it's a rip off and apparently doesn't have the right qualified mechanics. read more
