    Hawaiian Attire for all occasions
    Van D.

My friend and I had tickets to the Taste of Magic Show at Stowaway Tiki in Tustin and the dress code for our event was luau tiki attire so I searched with my beloved Yelp app and found Exotical Hawaiian Apparel. This place is THEE spot to go to for your Hawaiian attire needs. They had a large selection for men, women and children. Our focus was on the ladies' attire and there were wraps, dresses, skirts, shirts, and of course PLENTY OF ACCESSORIES. The owners were a nice couple who were super nice and helpful, but at moments a bit rough, which is fine. Just remember if you try anything on, they DO NOT want you to put it back... There is a designated spot to put anything back at. That was almost counter intuitive as I would normally put items back at the correct spot to be helpful to the retail industry. The sizes here run a bit small, so don't feel bad if you have to grab a size or two larger than usual, depending on the material of the item. My friend decided on a white wrap with light floral prints and a floral headpiece and she had so many compliments on her outfit. She looked like a Hawaiian Goddess!! In contrast her to lightness, my color scheme was more to the dark side. I went with a Side Tie dress ($53.82 after tax). The side tie allowed me to tighten the stomach area for my dress and define my waistline a bit better than the other styles. Just a warning, this place can be a bit expensive. The dress I chose was not my favorite that I tried on but the cotton one was significantly cheaper compared to a side tie dress in the fancier material that had a more forgivable stretch. As a fan of tiki bars, I can definitely see myself coming back here for more Hawaiian outfits, as they are fairly close to my workplace.

"Hawaiian paradise, Hawaiian heaven, land of make believe come true . . . " Exactly how I felt when I walked into Exotical. Took me back years ago when I used to dance hula and bought my grass skirt, uli ulis and gourd from a Hawaiian shop in Crenshaw Shopping Plaza. They're long gone now, as is Hilo Hattie's (formerly in Orange, CA). I need an Aloha shirt in two weeks for my 7-yr-old grandson. Normally I'd shop online but I'm wary that delivery date would fall too close to my target date, so searched online for a local vendor of Hawaiian gear. Up came . . . Exotical. Of course, I've been to Portos right across the street. And passed it numerous times Intending to stop and take a look but never found time or opportunity. When I walked into the store it was like going back in time - Hula skirts, Aloha shirts, ukuleles, Hawaiian jewelry, straw hats and miles of Aloha shirts for little boys. I had my pick. In fact, there were so many I had to get my husband out of the car to help me narrow down our choices - something I never do. But this was for the boy and I wanted to get it right - color, texture, design. Zeroed in on a lovely shirt. Perfect. Then I wanted a straw hat, but they don't carry them for kids. Makes sense. Kids probably don't wear them. A baseball cap will suffice. Bought a puka shell and tiki necklace. So cute. So traditional. All he needs is a pair of rolled up jeans, a pair of slippahs and he's ready for the islands. Mahalo, Exotical, for being my one-stop shop for Hawaiiana. I'll be back again real soon to browse your shelves. Aloooooooooooha. A hui hou!

I believe this is the ONLY Hawaiian apparel store around the 626 (San Gabriel Valley) area (there's another Hawaiian apparel store at Torrance - too lazy to drive there). Plus I need a Hawaiian shirt within a week, so I didn't have the time to buy one online. The price for Hawaiian-style swimming pant was actually $10 (the price mark was $30) and the price for most of Hawaiian shirts ranged from $9.99 to $54.99 (few shirts were $80). Hey, I ain't complaining because I couldn't even find a Hawaiian shirt at JCPenney or Nordstrom (they ran out of stocks at this time of the year - end of the summer). Great selections, I was pretty happy with my Hawaiian shirt - so I bought one =). Most importantly, the service was VERY friendly. In fact, the staff actually helped me finding the right size of Hawaiian shirt. This is why I love family owned store. I think it's worth the drive to find your very own Hawaiian shirt at this store.

Horrible customer service. Lady was on a personal phone call the entire time. We tried asking for help, and she just told us to look.

Big store, lots of different shirt, one whole side is dresses. Just remember to buy one size up because the 100% cotton shirts will shrink.

If you're Big and Tall, be weary…read more Giving 2 stars as my husband's groomsmen's suits all came out fine (but they are all standard sizes.) Knocking the 3 stars as this was a less than ideal experience for a big and tall groom. My husband who is 6'5", 48" waist, was less than comfortable in his suit on our wedding day, even after alterations were made to ensure the delivered suit actually fit. (And not just tailoring - complete alterations were needed.) We visited Savage Suiting as it was the recommended suit shop by our venue, and as they were so close to home we figured we'd give them a shot. A few things to note: 1 - it is an incredibly small space. My husband and his 5 groomsmen and father went, so 7 in total, and they filled the shop. Might be best to visit with a smaller group or alone. 2 - this is not a custom suit experience, they do not help you build your suit or choose fabrics and linings. (For what was spent, I wish he had had that experience or at least explored Inochino or similar options.) Instead, your measurements are taken and a suit it's ordered to your sizing (or at least that's what's promised.) I say that last part as although my husbands measurements were taken, and we were assured a suit could be ordered in his size, when delivered, his vest couldn't even button close and wasn't long enough to cover his waist. The jacket was incredibly tight in his shoulders and across his belly. His pants were too short, didn't taper at the ankle and blew out at his hips. And his bow tie couldn't clasp as it didn't fit around his neck. Now, had we simply purchased his groom's suit off the rack at DXL or Men's warehouse, I would understand coming across these issues. But we specifically visited Savage to have a gorgeous suit tailored to his measurements...so either the measurements were taken incorrectly or they cannot service larger sizing. (And to be clear, we've bought suits off the rack from DXL that fit my husband better than this specially ordered suit that was "to his exact measurements.") Now, in addition to all this and potentially the worse part - when my husband went to pick up his suit and realized most of the items didn't fit there was no apology from the store. A statement was made that "he was a difficult fit" and it was instead suggested to take the pieces to the tailor next door to have her alter them. No remeasuring done, no confirming the correct sizes were received, simply - well this is what we have for you, take it or leave it. To their credit, the shop did provide another vest for free, which we took to the tailor next door who added its fabric into the ordered vest to get it to close. But frankly, none of my husband's suit should have needed to be Frankensteined together in the first place. At the end of the day, the tailor next door saved the day and altered the suit to a place where my husband could at least wear it on our big day. However, she could still only do what she could do and he was still incredibly uncomfortable. And sadly his discomfort can be read throughout our wedding photos. I just highly suggest doing your research before collectively spending thousands of dollars on suits at Savage. I understand mistakes happen but ultimately, they overpromised and severely underdelivered.

Toxic Service & Complete Management Failure - AVOID THIS LOCATION…read more The Zara at Brea Mall is an absolute embarrassment to the brand. If you value being treated with basic human Decency, do not shop here. I walked out feeling disrespected and humiliated by a staff that is clearly untrained and hostile. The experience at the returns counter was a disaster from start to finish: The "Frontline" Issue: The associate (thin with black hair) was flat-out insulting. She rolled her eyes, talked down to me, and acted like following the store's own return policy was a personal burden to her. It wasn't just "attitude"--it was blatant unprofessionalism. The Incompetence: A second associate with curly hair actually found me an exchange item in a larger size, only to suddenly "change her story" and claim it wasn't policy. Don't offer solutions you don't understand; it's misleading and incompetent. The "Leadership": When the manager was called over, things actually got worse. Instead of de-escalating, the manager was arrogant, dismissive, and provided zero help. When the leadership is this rude, it explains why the staff feels comfortable mistreating paying customers. This isn't just one "bad day"--it's a systemic failure in training and accountability. Zara corporate needs to take a hard look at the Brea location because the current staff is driving loyal customers away for good. I will never spend another dime here.

The tents are for them to sleep in if they want. My 1 year old Pomeranian loves sleeping in little spaces like that. It was even too small for her lol We might try to find something else for her to sleep in. We do have regular dog beds. Just wanted a "cave" like place for her to sleep in, since she loves that. When I did the Amazon return online, it only gave me UPS and Kohls as return sites. For some reason, those were all I had. I decided on Kohls, since I didn't have the original packaging anymore. The Amazon return area at this location, is in the back right corner of the store. There's signs to direct you as well. I found the area and got in line. Quick and easy return!
