If you're Big and Tall, be weary. Giving 2 stars as my husband's groomsmen's suits all came out fine (but they are all standard sizes.) Knocking the 3 stars as this was a less than ideal experience for a big and tall groom. My husband who is 6'5", 48" waist, was less than comfortable in his suit on our wedding day, even after alterations were made to ensure the delivered suit actually fit. (And not just tailoring - complete alterations were needed.) We visited Savage Suiting as it was the recommended suit shop by our venue, and as they were so close to home we figured we'd give them a shot. A few things to note: 1 - it is an incredibly small space. My husband and his 5 groomsmen and father went, so 7 in total, and they filled the shop. Might be best to visit with a smaller group or alone. 2 - this is not a custom suit experience, they do not help you build your suit or choose fabrics and linings. (For what was spent, I wish he had had that experience or at least explored Inochino or similar options.) Instead, your measurements are taken and a suit it's ordered to your sizing (or at least that's what's promised.) I say that last part as although my husbands measurements were taken, and we were assured a suit could be ordered in his size, when delivered, his vest couldn't even button close and wasn't long enough to cover his waist. The jacket was incredibly tight in his shoulders and across his belly. His pants were too short, didn't taper at the ankle and blew out at his hips. And his bow tie couldn't clasp as it didn't fit around his neck. Now, had we simply purchased his groom's suit off the rack at DXL or Men's warehouse, I would understand coming across these issues. But we specifically visited Savage to have a gorgeous suit tailored to his measurements...so either the measurements were taken incorrectly or they cannot service larger sizing. (And to be clear, we've bought suits off the rack from DXL that fit my husband better than this specially ordered suit that was "to his exact measurements.") Now, in addition to all this and potentially the worse part - when my husband went to pick up his suit and realized most of the items didn't fit there was no apology from the store. A statement was made that "he was a difficult fit" and it was instead suggested to take the pieces to the tailor next door to have her alter them. No remeasuring done, no confirming the correct sizes were received, simply - well this is what we have for you, take it or leave it. To their credit, the shop did provide another vest for free, which we took to the tailor next door who added its fabric into the ordered vest to get it to close. But frankly, none of my husband's suit should have needed to be Frankensteined together in the first place. At the end of the day, the tailor next door saved the day and altered the suit to a place where my husband could at least wear it on our big day. However, she could still only do what she could do and he was still incredibly uncomfortable. And sadly his discomfort can be read throughout our wedding photos. I just highly suggest doing your research before collectively spending thousands of dollars on suits at Savage. I understand mistakes happen but ultimately, they overpromised and severely underdelivered. read more

He chose two that he really loved (photos later once the pants are tailored). He also enjoyed looking at their selection of shirts and ties. You could tell the materials are high quality and there is great value in the products they provide! When you come into this store, both Matt and Britt greet you with a big smile! My husband got to share a drink with Matt as if he was wedding suit shopping again-- it was really a whole experience! My fiancé and dad went here to get their suit for our wedding. I will say overall very friendly folks and easy to work with but a little unprofessional. This place is by appointment only so when we make an appointment we expect the staff to be present. The first time my fiancé and I waited gave a grace period of 15 minutes before calling. Turns out the staff were next door eating. The second time I brought my dad and again gave them a grace period before calling and didn't pick up. They were rushing over from a golf session down the street. Appointments should be private and often other customers would be let in before ours was finished. In a random moment I realized I was using chain spots for my business needs in regards to apparel. For shame! Well my new name is Aarron Savage! Some background is that I knew of Matt and Brit but have never connected until now, we each have common business colleagues and it just seemed savage to give them a try!!!!! OFF THE CHARTS PLEASED--BEYOND EXPECTATIONS! Then they surprised me with the personalized service! I was looking for a first suit for my son entering Law School, and I wanted him to have a 'Power Suit'. Looked at the middle and high-end stores in OC and LA; 'Off The Rack' suits were nice but only for a Bailiff. Ok, so I bit the bullet and went for what many stores called 'Bespoke'--or 'Custom', is what it's supposed to mean, but to many shops it simply meant 'you can have these options customized to your size'. Ok, now my son could look like all those 1-800 budget attorneys in the hallway. Not good enough. Where would Harvey Specter buy his suits? Then my son asked some of his Lawyer and Judge contacts he made from his MOOT COURT program at CSUF and they pointed him toward a small boutique in downtown Placentia: Savage Suiting. Hmm, 'by Appointment only'--they must be good. Dude, I've traveled down a fare number of C-Suite aisles in my years in Corporate Automotive Outside Sales--and as soon as my son and I walked in for out appointment, this small shop screamed high-end legit! They even had Harvey Spector's favorite Scott in their wet bar--Macallan 18. Dude! Matt and his beautiful wife Britt were so informative and helpful. Of course, my son had been doing his own social media research (he never ceases to amaze me) and even he was poking me and saying 'Dad, shut up--they know what they're talking about...' Ok, so I like to ask a lot of questions. I described what I was looking for for my son--his first suit, yes, but a suit where even the Judge would take notice when he walked into court. Matt smiled and started working his magic. This would be a truly custom suit, take a few weeks, but DAMN when my son finally was fitted, even I was tempted to take my son seriously. He looked freaking sharp. Compared to High-end and Bespoke, the price was not that much more and the result and the comments from everyone who sees my son when he walks into his classes and law events makes it so totally worth it. Success brings success. PS -- I ended up buying two sport coats for myself, I was so happy with their results. They helped me look fantastic, even with my 'DadBod +plus' size. I'm not one to typically leave a bad review. I usually give grace to businesses as I know there are times when single interactions are just an anomaly and usually the business makes it right. In my interactions with Savage Suiting this was not the case. I recommended Savage to the groom of the wedding I was in. I was his best man. I placed this recommendation based on a previous wedding I was in a few years prior. I will list the pros and cons my interactions. Pros: * Affordable. Our initial idea was to go to a suit rental company. Savage suiting cost was a bit more expensive but we were able to buy the suits rather than rent them. This is a win. *Ability to send in measurements. We were able to send in our measurements from wherever we were in the country. Our groom party was all over the place. We were able to go into any suit place. Get our measurements then send them into savage suiting. Cons: *Communication. Communication. Communication. This was the biggest issue I found with this company. Matt and Brit who run the business do not seem to communicate well with each other. Several times during this process we were told by Matt, a price or told that something would be included in the price but then Brit would have no idea what was said. The fathers of the wedding were told that their suits would be a certain price but once they went to pay the price was higher. The father in law of the groom was also told a shirt and tie came with his suit package but when he went to pick it up the shirt and tie was not included. He was also told that alterations to the suit (which were done next door) would be covered by savage but when those alterations were done the father in law had to press Matt about covering what he said he would cover. I personally also had to call them to remind them to ship me new pants when I shipped back the first pair for not fitting correctly. Fitment wasn't their fault. I was also told that the new pants would be shipped next day but they weren't. Multiple times during this process it seemed like Matt and Brit did not want to take responsibility for the lack of communication. I had called them toward the end of this process to address my concerns. I talked to Brit who was cordial during this but then Matt got on the phone and began to raise his voice at me. Not once did I raise my voice back. Matt told me "if we made a mistake or didn't include something you should have called us and let us know. We would have given you the shirt." The issue with this is, this happened on multiple occasions, and I as the customer don't feel like it is my job to call them and tell them how to do theirs. During our chat I told them I wanted to give them the opportunity to make this right before I posted my thoughts. I was then told "our name is Savage suiting, we don't take threats and we don't care if you write a review. It will be taken down anyway." Maybe our party just had them on an off couple weeks. But there are a few things that I feel are important to note. 1. Matt and Brit are not good communicators. 2. If you go this route please be prepared to reach out to them multiple times to remind them of things.. 3. Please please please get in writing pricing and what's included in packages. They seem to forget what they say. 4. If there is issues please be prepared to deal with Matt who acts like a high school kid who can't be told how things could be improved. Lack of emotional intelligence in business isn't a good look. I hope they fix these issues. Editing my review since my update got taken down. This was my update 8 days after my original review. "It has been 8 days since I posted my review.. and there are 10 NEW "5 star" reviews that were all posted the same day I posted my 2 star review. Matt and Britt are probably some of the most amazing people you'll ever meet, hands down. They provide TOP NOTCH service in record time and work tirelessly to get you what you need to look dapper. They saved me when I was super bogged down and forgot to get sized and suited for a wedding I was a groomsman for. Everywhere else turned me away saying 3.5 weeks was not enough time to comfortably get suited and make alterations but luckily I found Savage suiting. They did a beautiful 3 piece suit in about a week and a half, leaving me with the perfect amount of time to be comfortably prepared for the wedding. These guys know what they're talking about, they can just visually size you up and pretty much guesstimate your measurements making the whole process so much quicker and relaxed.
