Called "The Boss" on Monday as we were experiencing significant water pressure swings beyond what would be acceptable and eventually had one connector gasket exploding and the start of a major water leak in the kitchen (thanks to the Moen Flo valve, the issue was limited!). We found a leaking water heater in our garage. It was a hassle that we did not want to deal with! We found Express Water Heaters online and gave Robert a call that evening and he came out first thing in the morning, on time! No 2 or 3 hour window arrival time here! Robert made everything so, so easy. He carries water heaters in his truck, had all the fittings, tools, and permits right there so he fixed it and about an hour later, walked us through the basic workings of our new water heater! VERY pleased with the service :) My hot water service went out this week, and I had Robert ('the Boss') and Neil from Express Water Heaters & Plumbing come to my home. They came the same day that I called them, and after assessing it Robert took the time to explain in depth what the issue was and the cost to repair, and educated me to my options. I opted for a replacement rather than repair as my old system was out of warranty. He was able to have the new system ordered, delivered and installed the very next morning. I also had issues with my 3 toilets (all of which leaked) and the kitchen tap which thumped when the hot water was on. A previous plumber had told me I needed a replacement kitchen tap because a part inside it had worn out. I had purchased a new one from Home Depot and asked Robert to install it for me while he was here, and take a look at the toilets. He fixed all three toilets on the first day he was here, and after taking a look at the tap found the issue was a valve allowing air in, made some adjustments and fixed the issue in seconds (at no charge). I just saved myself $200 on the tap replacement which I am taking back to Home Depot for a refund!!! On the second day while installing my water heater my cat got out (not to do with him). But I was outside looking for her, and Robert and Neil offered to help me and once they had finished the job they walked around the block looking for her. If that is not great service I don't know what is!! Also Robert offered me the ability to pay via credit card through PayPal without charging additional fees which I was really pleased with, as you don't always get this service these days. He also gave me the $25 off Yelp offer on both days he was here, so I saved another $50. They were very friendly, personable, knowledgeable, efficient and helpful and the service really was outstanding. I like that they put it on a stand and in a drip/spill pan with drain pipe. Also replaced the pressure regulator valve. Everything looks great. And they did a great clean up job. My mother's property manager for a rental condo in Carlsbad hired this company "sight unseen" off Yelp reviews to do a simple remove and replace on an existing 40 gal. gas water heater, located on an outdoor patio in a ground floor unit. Labor and materials, including upselling for an "expansion tank" (only required by building code in NEW construction NOT replacement of existing) ran $1800. When I approached the owner, Robert, about the excessiveness of his charges, particularly the expansion tank addition, he insisted it was required by code. I informed him that I had both spoken to the building department in Carlsbad AND researched the code online and knew the tanks were only required in NEW construction. He stated that the person I spoke to at the City was obviously misinformed and I must have read "old" information on the web. I just had my 40 gal ELECTRIC (more expensive than gas) water heater go out in my Carlsbad condo. Garage installation. $700 for purchase, labor and haul away of old. No expansion tank required. Wow! I can't say enough good things about this company. Robert answered the phone himself on a Sunday, offered to come right out and replace our leaking water heater for a set price of $899, and also suggested we wait until Monday to save an $88 weekend service fee. He came out right on schedule (no 4 hour window!), did the job, and also told me that they are a full service plumbing company. One of the other reviews here mistakenly says they only do water heaters, but that's not true. In fact, he took a look at two of our shower heads for free and gave me advice on what my husband can do to fix them himself. They also cleaned up the mess left by the leaking water heater. OUTSTANDING! Our hot water heater tanked and was flooding our garage floor, so we called Express Water Heaters at 8:30 AM based on a google search. His price was the cheapest in my search, so I was a little skeptical. Well was I ever wrong! After talking with Robert "The Boss", I felt assured that he was a straight shooter and hired him for the job. By 10:30, a new water heater was delivered to our garage. By 1:30 Robert and his technician arrived just as he said. Within a couple of hours the new water heater was installed and I could clearly see how their workmanship blew away whoever did the previous install. They did a super-quality job and made some improvements with an emergency shutoff valve and overflow drain and tub. They even dried the flood on the floor and left the area looking much better than when they arrived.
