You need to download and use their app for entry and exit, plus for entry into the storage building. The app is pretty easy to use as long as you're in the appropriate range. The price of the units are cheaper than the surrounding area, and they had more available at the time. They also offered a deal when renting a new unit. *I've used Public Storage a few times at multiple locations and the quality and service are consistent.

Over the years, I've referred many people, and at least four of my immediate family members currently rent units here as well. Office management is amazing Scott and Lawrence deserve real recognition. Scott is the on-site backbone of this facility -- the one you see constantly staying on top of the grounds, making sure everything is clean, maintained, and running smoothly day in and day out. His customer service is phenomena; he's dependable, consistent, patient, respectful, and always willing to assist. Lawrence is also phenomenal to work with -- professional, helpful, and always clear when handling anything that involves paperwork or questions. Together, Scott and Lawrence make the office run the way it should, and they're a major part of why I've stayed loyal all these years. When I need something done, they make the process simple and straightforward, every time. To be transparent, I do avoid dealing with one staff member: Ian. My interactions with him have been consistently difficult. His tone comes across condescending, like you know less than you do and he tends to complicate simple requests instead of clarifying them. A recent experience -- I was moving things between my two units and using the electrical outlet on the wall. I'd been plugged in for about two and a half hours with no problem, and then 45 minutes before closing Ian suddenly came out to tell me I wasn't allowed to use it. So it took 150 minutes for you to realize and address the issue. A few days later, I called to ask if they stil had any larger unit I oreviously discussed with Scott available so I could consolidate, and in the middle of the conversation he repeats, "And just to remind you, you also can't use the electrical outlets." At that point, it felt unnecessary. I heard you the first time I'm an adult, I understood it, and repeating it came off exactly the way my experiences with him usually feel. Aside from that, this facility has been nothing but dependable -- clean grounds, secure units, and reliable management. I've been here almost ten years, I currently have two units, and I don't plan on going anywhere else. If you're looking for a storage facility you can actually trust long-term, with staff who genuinely take care of their tenants, ask for Lawrence or Scott. They're the reason so many of us stay loyal to American River Self Storage.

Lol more so we stored his things in it. We had a smaller size, he didnt have massive furniture except a China cabinet. We paid roughly $55 bucks a month. They have security and a lady on site 24 hours. She is super awesome. There were moments we were late cause of our pay weeks but she was amazing about it. I think we had the storage unit for maybe a half a year to a year. They tend to have deals all round. The place is well cleaned. The elevator they had that we used seemed a bit sketchy. Like I didn't want to over load it with muliple stuff cause I felt it wouldnt work. We ended up going with this location because it was literally next door to us. Convenient and affordable.

Furthermore, there are NO cameras in the halls of the non-climate controlled area, making it extremely easy for thieves to conceal their actions. In the case of the burglary to my unit, Management and Police have been unhelpful so far. Avoid all of the time and money spent getting your stuff back and rent elsewhere, at least at a place with cameras inside the facility.

When I first moved into my unit, the next door unit was filled with items reeking of cat urine…read more When I reported it, they took 5 months to have the neighbor remove their items. My blankets, mattresses and other belongings smelled so bad it was nauseating. They refused any compensation and I had no means to move all of my stuff out. Fast forward to now, they offer discounts to new customers but refuse to extend the same discounts to existing customers. The employee even called the owner to ask and he said he is unwilling to offer anything to an existing customer. So they would rather lose a long time customer instead of rewarding a loyal one? I was then told that i can have someone else rent the unit under their name. I would have to move everything out, close out my contract and then move everything back into a whole different unit. I will take my business elsewhere ASAP. Without the discounts they are one of the more expensive companies anyways. Just another case of horrible customer relations.
