My unit was broken into and no one will talk to me or help me. They told me I can meet with someone tomorrow.

When I first acquired a 5' X 10' unit approximately 4 years ago I was paying I believe $76.00 a month. I dealt with the homeless taking shelter inside the building during the winter and even a couple living in a unit two down from me. Over time they made improvements and better secured the property. They also restricted the hours you are able to access your unit. I have been paying a total of $153.00 per month which I don't have a problem with. Come February 1st they are increasing the monthly total to $196.00 for a 5' X 10' unit. They make you pay $11.00 per month for insurance which I think is robbery. Sorry Public Storage, not worth the money for such a small unit. read more

DO NOT use this storage facility. I've been loyal for 2 1/2 years and they just raised my rent from $161 to $219/month without any notice or reason. This is for a 10x10. When I put in a request asking to lower the bill back to $161, I was told by customer service "your request was denied--it doesn't matter how long you have been a customer, it's month to month." Crooks! And right when gas prices are HIGH, interest rates high, food prices high!!I read more

Do not ever use this storage facility. They are extremely overpriced and they do not refund any of your money if you move out early in the month. Crooks! I moved out on the 5th and they kept the entire months storage fees. Almost $300. I do not know of any other storage facility that does that. If you are one day late, they shut down your account. They do not communicate well, unless you are late and then they are all over you. I would never use them again. The storage unit is clean. But the new manager running it is a thief. I pushed the button for the 1cent first month. It said sorry nothing available at that price. Then it said 30% off is available. little bait and switch. never got any deal. so I sign up and it charges me $154.00 for two weeks. That's all I needed it for was two weeks. that includes insurance. this place is run by completely incompetent idiots!!! my bf went there to move some stuff out of our storage about 30 minutes before they close and they locked him inside!!! it took forever to be able to contact anybody to help him and we were afraid he was going to be locked in there overnight. their negligence directly put him in danger. how the hell do you not think to simply check that the place is empty before LOCKING UP and LEAVING! there's no emergency or after hours line either so he and i both were transferred to their customer service line and put on hold for hours. i found the number to another location that hadn't closed yet and called them out of desperation and the employee advised me to just call 911 at that point. this should be something that isn't even a possibility and i'm appalled that they let this happen. read more

IF YOU STORE ANYTHING OF VALUE AT THIS FACILITY IT YOU WILL HAVE YOUR STORAGE BROKEN INTO !!!!!!...Just look at some of the other reviews on this place one who has been a victim of this facility please post....So after my storage was broken into and I tryed to figur er out what happened it took weeks of investigation in order to get the Michelle the girl st the desk to give me the security footage only to realize that the security footage they gave me you could not even get a licens plate # and then only to realize that their is about 25 people that that go their every morning who do not have a storage their they belong to the tree service that meet their every morning well in my contract with public storage i did not see where it said that 25 people without storages their will be coming and going as they please so when my storage was broken into all Michelle said I am not sure how to help you ....wow so I bewildered by the lack of concern by the staff...So I moved what little belongings I had left to a smaller unit in the same facility only to come back their 3days after that and find a mirror on top of my lock I ask Michelle if she new why that was their and she said oh well it must be the homeless guy next to yours who basically live out of the storage going through his stuff and he must of set that mirror on top of your lock its possible but not likely so then the next day I come back to my unit only to find some type of remote on the ground in my new unit then I said to myself wow that looks pretty odd so I go up to the gate in front of the facility and it did not open it but once I put in my code the clicker would stop it and control gate after that and when I showed it to Michelle she very calmly said well we don't have clickers for the gate which is true so I think I that it was her Glamor Gangster boyfriend who walks around like he own the place very unprofessional so that's it for now I will post pictures of the mirror on top of my lock and the remote I found I gave to a private investigator that I hired with my own money to help me figure this out and is currently active on the case and following up on differnt leads either way this public storage has to be stopped forthe careless mismanagement of this faclity..... read more

I received such poor service that the great price and convenient location could not make up for it. I was completely appalled at how my mother and I were treated while at Public Storage. I will never again attempt to get a storage unit with this company. I took my business to Extra Space Storage instead and felt safer with them as they welcomed us with open arms and made the transition process easy with their pleasant attitudes and great work ethic. I would recommend for Public Storage more training for their employees on how to treat their customers in order not to lose more business. read more

I came In earlier today to check out pricing for some of the spaces at this location. The manager Nate was very professional, courteous, and gave 5 star service. He showed me a few lockers to give me an idea of sizing and even asked me a list of questions to make sure i was getting the right size unit, and I even ended up figuring out I didn't need a unit as big as I was looking into which saved me money, but they didn't have any available at this location. He even offered to look at other stores and see what they had available but I was In a hurry. All in all Nate is awesome, definitely recommend this location! Awesome manager!! read more

Luckily I didn't end up needing it after all, but if customer service was the deciding factor then an employee named Daniel won me over. The Front Office Assistant, Nao (sp?) was wonderful and very friendly. She provided great customer service and showed me the exact space I would be renting. This is the second time we have used this Public Storage Facility and they are very professional. I even receiveda a follow up call making sure everything went well with the move, so very high marks on Customer Service. There are some additional charges that most Storage Facilities probably charge that you should be aware of which includes buying the lock ($23), insurance ($11 for 10 x 10) and New Account Administration Fee ($24). The best part of the deal was the $1.00 for the first month for the 10 x 10 since I only need it short term but the monthly charge is $161 for the 10 x 10. I would use them again if needed. read more

THEY ARE BURGLARIZED OFTEN & I BELIEVE IT IS AN INSIDE JOB SINCE THE ONLY CAMERAS ARE IN THE OFFICE & OF THE GROUNDS, NOT THE HALLWAYS OF THE INDIVIDUAL UNITS! I attempted to go into my storage located at 6536 Fair Oaks Blvd in Carmichael, California on 11-28-16 to get Christmas lights & noticed my key to the lock I purchased from Public Storage did not work; In previous month's when I was late I received messages that if I didn't pay they would change my lock. I believe they did because my key has been on the same ring with my car keys & apartment keys. On 12-10-16 after going back and forth with the Public Storage Office I was able to have the lock cut off because I wanted to get my Christmas lights out and did not want to have to buy all new ones. When I went into my storage I immediately noticed it had been ransacked! All the boxes and items I stacked neatly from the floor to the ceiling were strewn about, spilled over with papers, books, items everywhere. Whoever broke in hurriedly went through my things and took what they wanted. I am devastated as my grandparents died in 1998 & 2002 and I have been hanging onto what I inherited since then through several moves. After this, I researched online and found other people reporting that this Public Storage has been burglarized constantly. Michelle in the from office was aloof, & not at all empathetic & Richele Middlebrooks, the interim District Manager listened long enough to say so sorry for your luck, these things happen. Let's start with this is the worst storage facility in the whole Sacramento valley starting with the security I had a storage unit broken into at this facility and the security cameras could not even get a license plate number from the cars that stole my stuff then shortly after the staff was no help I did not realize that public storage relies on the person who rents the storage to actually call the police so if your storage unit is broken into at public storage then you are the one that has to call the police and on top of thatthere is 25 people that come in there every morning that do not have a storage unit there some type of tree service that was not in my contract I did not realize that I was actually renting a storage unit that was actually a staging ground for a tree service IF YOUR STORAGE UNIT WAS BROKEN INTO AT THIS FACILITY you are not the first one I do not have no resolution to finding your items from what I'm finding out this is an inside job that is most likely the cause of the staff that work there or known associates of them so if you have anything of value do not I repeat do not keep it at the storage unit you will lose it it will be stolen your storage physically wrote broken into only for the staff to say I don't know what happened wow I'm not sure what's going on but I hope the BBB can help me figure this out I'm compiling my evidence right now to build a case on these people cuz some of the items that I had stolen from me sentimental read more

RED FLAG ALERT!! Shannon lied to my face when I asked about break-ins the day i signed up. She said other than maybe batteries being takin from parked cars there hadn't been any. However, the day I had to report my unit being ransacked and file a report the policeman showed me a long list of reported burglaries over the past 4 months. Now I find I've been victimized yet again only because my lock had been changed. Somehow they changed my lock without my knowledge or approval. SERIOUSLY?! Shannon says she called me. I'm pretty sure I would have been there in a split second had that phone call actually occurred. And if I'm not mistaken isn't that why there's a backup number?And an email in my profile. At this point in the conversation I still don't know I've been broken into until Shannon says," they cut the slide bar." So now I know I've been broken into because the first break-in they cut the bottom of the clasps that the slide bar goes through and didn't touch the slidebar. Can you imagine how upset I am at this moment? Add to that the security label they put on all the locks so they can determine tampering, WAS NOT on this new lock they had put on my unit. I'm waiting for a call from the corporate office. Somehow this has to stop! read more

I only give the storage 1 star wish i could give a 0 star. The lady in the front office is very very rude she has no customer service skills whatsoever. You do not go around accusing your tenants at the storage of defecating on the property or being in their storage unit too long or having to complain that it is dirty. The lady in the office needs to learn not to yell at the tenants she can come at somebody with respectful words and does not have to be racist or rude. We pay our bill on time and even paid our bill earlier than the due date. We have never ever left any Trash feces urine drugs bottles or any kind of other stuff out and about. We have kept our unit very very nice and neat very very clean we have never stored any unnecessary items that should not have been stored in the unit. On one or more occasions we have smelt gas feces and urine in the public storage area. We have notified the young lady in the office and she said she would take care of it but instead of taking care of it she came at us and a wrong manner she yelled at us she cursed at us she became unruly and racist she slandered us. I don't appreciate the lady also in the office constantly pushing her car on us to buy it when the car was not in safe mode that car was not safe at all for my family whatsoever and when we told her no we did not want to buy the car that's when she got very very obscene and upset with us .This public storage has made us feel so uncomfortable and made us feel like we would not rent in there anymore I will not be recommending this to anyone unless you would like to be abused. read more
