There was no styrofoam in the box and the cabinet would not fit through the front door where they left it. I had to call Lowe's to come pick it up and re-deliver it through the back door. I realized about a week and a half ago that my unit was full of mouse poop -probably because the…read morebottom of the door does not seal well and there is a gap. I called and reported it, and told them we might move out over this. I was told that they had to talk to the store manager and they'd call me back. 4-5 days go by and I don't hear anything so I call again. I speak with a different individual. I express frustration over the lack of a callback, and that I wasn't even offered a new unit last time I called, or a discount over this, nothing. She then asks me if I have any food in the storage unit -I tell her I did not that it was full of children's toys and stuffed animals. She goes on to ask me if there are any damages and I said I wasn't sure, that there were stuffed animals in there. I mentioned that I was getting pretty sick, and I knew my unit least renewed in a few days. That I was worried about how we were going to get this taken care of. At that point she tells me she has to contact the store manager and she'll call me back. I speak with her later on, and she tells me that there's nothing they could they can do. Because I chose my own insurance I'm responsible for damages. But again at no point did I say I wanted them to cover damages. They would do nothing but offer to put me in a new unit. In other words leaving me with all of the work of dealing with that -without even so much as a discount on this unit that I was paying almost $200 month for. This was entirely their fault for not maintaining the property or ensuring all of their doors seal correctly. I told them there was no way I was giving them another dime and that we would be moving out on 3-11. We remove all of our belongings the day our unit lease was ending, 3/ 11. I was horrifically sick, and had to ask family to help. And it just so happens that I asked one of the family members to text me a photo of the empty unit -just in case they tried to pull something shady. Well this morning I woke up to an email claiming we did not vacate the units until 3/12 and that I owe them money. Too bad for them that I have a date stamped text message proving that the unit was completely emptied 3/11 12:24pm. Thankfully we didn't see any evidence of mouse activity in the crates of stuffed animals. It seemed to be all around some hard washable outdoor toys. I am just blown away that there was no concession made. They manager didn't even bother getting involved after they found out what was going on. I have a feeling that this is something that they deal with on the regular as neither individual I spoke with seemed surprised about the mouse crap.
