I had cataract surgery in January, and since it's so hard to find frames to fit my face, I decided to try Eyeglass World. They didn't know that Medicare and my insurance will pay for one pair of eyeglasses after surgery, but found out after they pulled up the information on the computer. The girl that was helping me kept asking me if I was wearing progressive bifocals, plus she was bringing my horrible (purple & black) frames in my size, and this was AFTER I told her that I ONLY wear wire rims in gold and silver. The eyeglasses that are covered by Medicare are single vision, no tinting, no transitions, no bifocals, and no anti-glare. So since I wear transitions lined bifocals, and have anti glare, by the time everything was added on, it's costs less to get my eyeglasses from Costco, which I where I normally get them. So Eyeglass World isn't really all it's chalked up to be. Costco has nicer frames, and my bifocals have always cost me a lot less. Shop Costco or elsewhere, you'll be better off. read more

I stumbled upon this place when I went shopping at the local Costco and seen they had glasses two for $89. I thought we'll that is a steal if it's true and guess what it is. I was able to not only get me some reading glasses for myself but even my husband. I came back again and had a few questions about a no lined bifocal and the love Justine helped me with that she was super helpful and patient. It is hard to find younger people that are kind and patient with us senior citizens. But Justine made me feel welcomed from the second I walked in and explained all of my options and informed me on the benefits of a no lined bifocal. She is one of a kind and is a keeper. Y'all need to give this young lady a raise! Anywho this is a great company and I was able to find a location close to me at my hometown in Texas and will from now on be getting my eye exam and glasses at Eyeglass world. read more

Christina took care of my visit into the store. She's probably the most professional and knowledgeable representative I've worked with at any eyeglass store. It really helps in decision making. They do have their two - for - one deals and a pretty good selection compared to other places from inexpensive to more designer frames. The only thing that keeps it from five stars is the designer price BUT for two pairs of glasses with a great selection of styles and brands, it's a pretty good deal... That's the the frugal part of me. So, I had my wife choose the frames because she has good taste and I want her to be happy at my glasses choice when looking at my face. I am not lying when I say the employees here are the greatest. It's been a long time since I've written a review but I knew i needed to give these girls a shout out when I got the time to sit down and explain thoroughly. I walk in and they greet me but don't make me feel overwhelmed (yay for an introvert), ask you if you need help and I told them I had my prescription on hand and wanted to purchase glasses from them, they told me to look around and try on some glasses and if I needed assistance to ask. I never had to ask for anything, they were all very attentive and ready with keys to unlock any glasses that were locked up. Victoria helped me and I'm not sure if that was the trainee or the trainer but both women were so down to earth and just wanted to give you what you wanted. I told them some of my issues I have throughout the work week with my eyes and they listened and softly recommended add ons. No hard sales, no pressure, and never made me feel uncomfortable to say "No, I'm okay I don't think I need that added". I could go on about how wonderful all these employees were but I'm so happy I stopped in and although I was just looking for glasses, I got more than just that. I got respect and genuine kindness, not because it was their "job" but they gave off a very good vibe that they were just kind souls and that made me leaving happier than I came in. Saved the vacation! Last week we were on vacation in San Diego from Chicago. My son was in the ocean 20 minutes at most and a wave hit him and knocked off his glasses, GONE! My girlfriend came here after numerous attempts at various locations to fix her crooked glasses. She was at the point of giving up. However, the general manager, Christina Martin came to save the day. She was so patient with my picky girlfriend and sat there for about 30 minutes with us making all the little changes that were necessary to fix them. She was so kind and helpful and even gave us cookies for the wait ! My girlfriend is COMPLETELY satisfied with her glasses now and we are so thankful that Christina took the time to listen to what was wrong and made it a point to fix them correctly knowing that we had already gone to other locations and still had not gotten them fixed. I have to give this place a review! I went there last week for a consultation, I didn't have an appointment, they take Walk-ins and waiting time was like 10 min. I have been wearing glasses for 20 years and this place was by far one of the best experiences. They took my insurance, no hidden cost or anything. The girl that helped me I think her name is Christina was super helpful, the Dr. was knowledgeable. I felt that this place actually cared, they were not pushy on me getting glasses with them, they gave me the quote and explained to me the options I had. I usually go out of my way to find something to complain about I think that it keeps businesses and workers honest. I have been at eyeglass world now two times, and I can't find a darn thing to complain about. TheirI eyeglass specialist / optometrist is an absolute GENIUS.... don't let his challenged English be a factor..... I don't think I have difficult eyes, but I just can't seem to get a good prescription on my glasses many of the optometrists either don't care or are in a rush..... this guy in my book is sheer genius....the only reason I gave four stars and not five, is because for some reason I just have not been able to connect with eyeglass world with respect to frames... to me, they look all the same even for $78 or for $129 or for even some of their designer glasses. I wanted some dark sunglasses with a "look" to them...almost James Bondish.... and I couldn't find a thing....without intentionally trying to plug another place, I highly recommend Zenni Optical... even their glasses for $6.95 or $9.95 are much more stylish than eyeglass world.... I wish that eyeglass world would take a moment and look through Zenni opticals wide selection on the internet to get a better idea of what I think they should handle. I love this location and Christina the manager, her and the technicians are awesome. The eyeglass portion of the store is amazing! They've helped me a thousand times with excellent outcomes! But! The exam team needs a little help with customer service and proper communication. I called to make an appt and the clerk quoted me a price, after she had me on hold to verify because she was unsure. She gave me the price and the procedure in which to be prepared for. I came into my appt and the doctor Nguyen proceeded to tell me, after I filled out all of the paperwork, that I was misquoted and that the girl was new and she told me the wrong price. So then he tells me another price for new customers. Then I'm left waiting for almost 20 minutes until he decides to tell the clerk that it'll be another higher price of $119. I was never presented an actual list of possible prices nor was I told of new customer paying higher prices. For all I know he was making up prices because he didn't want to do the exam. Although it was my 1st exam, I'm a regular customer there and never will go there again for an exam. read more

The most amazing staff and service I've ever received!! I had my appointment on Saturday 12/1 and first of all let me say this if you have tricare for insurance they accept it there for the eye exam, that was a total life saver because going to the military treatment facility would have took me a month to get in and I don't have time to wait around as my eye were just getting worse, anyways I got in super quick and the doctor was extremely nice and explained everything well, after I got my eye dilated I had to quickly pick out the frames I wanted and I found 2($78) that suited me so well, the girl that help me (I wish I got her name ) made sure that the frames fit my face shape. Then once I got to checking out and finalizing everything, the other staff member (who I wish I got her name as well ) made sure I got offered nothing but the best. she mentioned to me that they could put anti glare on my glasses that way I can drive at night comfortably and safely. Eye glass world also offers military discount I wasn't able to pick up my glasses the same day but that wasn't a big deal to me because it was the weekend so I totally understood. When I came to pick up my glasses on Monday 12/3 the staff was super helpful and I got my glasses. I was beyond satisfied with their service and I'm so glad I chose them. Great experience, so happy with Eyeglass World! Went here after returning a pair of glasses that I got from Lenscrafters at Plaza Bonita, customer service was terrible and the glasses were not at all what I was looking for. I was unhappy with the fit and the lenses, I returned them the next day. By the way, after insurance this one pair of reading glasses with going to cost me around $700 out of pocket, pretty ridiculous I thought. Luckily I found lens Eyeglass World and give them a shot. Eyeglass World carries a lot of extended size frames which LensCrafters did not, that was a huge plus right off the bat. I found a frame that I liked, was much less than what I was going to pay for anything close at LensCrafters, and was set up with someone to talk about lenses. After discussing what I wanted, a simple pair of bifocals mainly for reading up close, they took my info and a week later I had my glasses and they were perfect, exactly what I wanted, a nice stylish frame and simple lenses. Total out-of-pocket this time, $153, about $550 less than LensCrafters. The staff was great here and I couldn't be happier and will be a long-time customer of Eyeglass World! read more

I'm writing regarding the service I encountered at your store #8508 at Broadway Plaza in Chula Vista. My husband and I went in and he had an eye exam. Once finished we looked at the frames. We asked an associate, Daisy, for help to unlock some glasses. We took out 3 pairs in total, 2 Oakley and 1 RayBan. She rang us up and gave us the total cost. We paid the amount and returned in two hours. Upon returning we found that the wrong Oakley frame had been used. My husband went back in and was greeted by Daisy in a rude tone and annoyance. My husband simply wanted the correct frames and she became upset, unprofessional and rude towards him. She said it would be 14 days for his order to be ready and finished with a short "we're done here." To my knowledge my husband was calm and patient and was not in a rush to receive the frames, we had the other pair. However, once he returned to the car he expressed his frustration of the experience. Confused on the time for the frames to be ready, I looked online and saw that there was same day available. I called to inquire, Daisy answered. She answered yes that they were able to do same day service and on occasion it would not take longer than 10 days. That was different than what she told my husband. When I explained to her who my husband was a quick tone changed. She became rude, short and disrespectful. She cut me off during my sentences. Put me on hold multiple times. Tried to hang up on me and had an attitude. She told me she was busy with other patients in the store and tried to hand up on me again. I asked her to please be polite and show the same curtesy and respect that I have shown her. I then asked for her store manager and district manager name's and corporates phone number. ( SM: Christina Martinez DM: Monica, she did not know her last name) She then hung up without saying good bye. This was the most unprofessional interaction I've had with anyone. I've worked in retail since the age of 16, I was a store manager and held many other management positions. This interaction was unacceptable and embarrassing for your company. I am not asking for free or discounted products. All I asked was for politeness and help to resolve a problem. Christina (mgr), Griselda, & Yolanda were professional & personable examples that need to be in every customer service/corporate environment. I came into their store in the morning, afternoon, & evening, & they treated ALL their clients with the same great care. Another professional referred me to their company & Christina will send her a $25 giftcard for giving a customer referral. I purchased (2) pairs of glasses & Christina helped me through the process of getting exactly what I needed, extra help fr her staff to help me select my frames, a great deal, a special discount, & when I walked out with my glasses the SAME DAY, Yolanda even gave me an eyeglass cleaner & repair kit, that I can take with me on my travels. I saw another 5 star reviewer rec'd cookies fr Christina, for their wait. I dropped off a tray of muffins for their care for me! THANK YOU Griselda for convincing me to come to your location! I was at Walmart optometry (a couple weeks to process), have insurance with Kaiser (costly) & have purchased my glasses for a few decades at my private doctor's office (less selection). I actually got my prescription here back in May, but they were super busy so I waited to pick frames. Over the weekend my son and I came in, he wanted new glasses before Jr High, and I still needed frames. Staff got him an appointment right away, and we BOTH got glasses and sunglasses!! Great selection of glasses at all different price ranges. If it's busy it can be difficult to get staff to unlock designer frames, but well worth the wait! My son got his glasses an hour later! (Sunglasses and my prescription are special order, hope they come in this week.) We did opt for the 1 year warranty. Adding another $80 (basically $20 a pair). Walked out paying close to $100 a pair (plus the warranty) each for 2 pairs of designer prescription glasses and 2 pairs of designer sunglasses! Looking forward to enjoying the pool and beach this summer with my new sunglasses! read more

These people suck! They lure you in with the 2 for $70 ... If you don't give the slightest crap about how you look then perhaps it can be that cheap. Let's get real, it costs to look good,but that's not even my issue. My issue is that the optometrist never listened to me about my prescription and gave me an incorrect prescription which in turn gave me dizzy spells and I went to different doctors trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with me. After months of not figuring it out and even though I told the docs that my eyes had been checked I called to ask about my prescription. I was informed that there was in fact no prism in my glasses (which I've used for 20 years) I asked if I could have my eyes re examined. So not only were my glasses off due to the prism but the optometrist had my prescription wrong. He said I didn't need reading glasses but of course I do! So now I have 2 pairs,which was my norm until I came here! Please don't come here and waste your time or money (2k after all the doctor visits)!!! Get your glasses here!!! I have been coming here a little over a year and they have been amazing to me. When I first called to see if I could get an eye exam they were able to squeeze me in same day. When I got there it was pretty busy. Melinda did the pre test before the actual exam and I was usher right in immediately. When I was done with the exam all the other works were with customer and it was already late and pretty much closing time for them. Melinda who is more of the doctors assistant ended up helping me with purchasing my glasses (which isn't even her job duty) just so I wasn't waiting around. The prices for 2 pairs of glasses is only $78 !!! I got my glasses the next day which I was expecting to wait a few. I came back a few months later to get sunglasses but didn't want to spend to much money. They were able to take the second pair that I didn't use as often and put a tent on them for only $30 and I got the glasses back the same day!! I told my dad to come here too. He loves it now and because I referred him they sent me a $25 Starbucks card in the mail!!! I came back and got more glasses from them a few times within the year. Now that it's been over a year I came back in today to get my exam again knowing my vision is getting worse. They got me right in and out of the exam. I was purchasing my new set of glasses with Christina (General Manager/amazing person) and again I was treated so well. They're prices are SO low that they bet my insurance with the prices. My insurance covers a part of one pair of glasses but they have a deal that's buy 2 for $78. Because I had to get a stronger prescription it was going to take till Monday to get my glasses but Christina knew that I was driving far just to go there so she talked with the tech and they were able to get my glasses done same day AGAIN!! I live 30 minutes away but still drive to Chula Vista just so I can go to this place! Everytime I go I'm treated like a friend and not just a customer with money. My favorite thing is that after your done they mail you a personal letter saying something nice. Melinda wrote me a letter telling me that she loved talking to me and was so happy that I was her first sale since she's usually in the back with the Doctor. If your thinking where to get glasses from, then STOP looking, because this is the place to go! I recommend it to everyone. read more

First off I want to say that this experience has been one of the smoothest processes I've ever had with eyeglasses. Great place, many many selections and deals/prices that noone else can beat. Took my son here a few days ago and he got pink eye. Looking back the doctor didn't clean anything before he put my sons eyes on anything I just assumed that they would because they are eye doctors and doctors are supposed to be clean.
