I recently had eye surgery and my vision prescription will be changing for the next month or two until it stabilizes. Meanwhile, I needed a pair of glasses ASAP so I could safely drive until my eyes heal and I have a permanent Rx. My eye-surgeon gave me a temporary prescription. I looked for places with an in-store lab that could make lenses *now* instead of the typical multi-day/week delay, and since these would only be temporary, had low-cost lenses & frames. I discovered Eyeglass World. I went in, explained these glasses would only temporary and asked for the cheapest frames and lenses. I selected a surprisingly nice frame which was also their lowest cost one. Four hours later, they texted me the glasses & lenses were ready. Very happy customer! read more

I had heard good things, so with the stay at home order coming to an end, I made a much needed appointment. I gave them my info and insurance info and then found out that they don't take my insurance. I never called back to reverify billing info, I only called back to cancel. When I went to a different appointment, with a provider that accepts my insurance, they weren't able to use my insurance because Eyeglass World pre-verified my insurance. They weren't able to straighten it out with insurance because it was a Saturday and the offices weren't open yet. I contacted Eyeglass World and they told me that it's up to the new provider to straighten it out. They can pre-authorize, but they have no way to cancel that pre-authorization. They said that the insurance company who allows them to preauthorize won't even speak to them to cancel the authorization. What bothers me most, is that they clearly know this, because the office manager immediately had a reason as to WHY they couldn't do it - so why do they continue to do this? Being that I didn't confirm my appointment, it should never have been pre-authorized until I confirmed. Now I have to wait until it is straightened out - by a provider who has nothing to do with the error - before I can use my insurance. *Update - Although the business owner contacted me here, nobody ever reached out to me, even though they were given (and already had) my contact info. I'm not sure how long I should have to wait for a company to fix their error so that I can use my own insurance, but four days is too long. The insurance rep for my company had to reach out to the insurance company to have the authorization released. **Update - Mike called time let me know that they called VSP and resolved my issue. It's interesting because on Saturday, their office manager told me that VSP won't even speak to them about canceling a preauthorization, yet now VSP IS willing to speak to them? The policy changed since Saturday? That's weird. Was it my tweet or my Yelp review that got them to change the policy? In addition, Mike probably didn't realize he was telling me that HE did something that had already been completed when I contacted the insurance rep for my company and had them reach out to VSP to clear it up. I had an email yesterday morning that I could use my benefits - that was from my rep. Not Mike. Lousy service all the way around. read more

Poor selection compared to last time I purchased glasses there. Exam is Not included in the two pairs for 89.00 like it is at America's Best . After 1 week I called to see if they were in. A mix up with the lens occured and only one pair was ready. Fine. Call Them again a week later. Now both pair are ready for pickup. You shouldn't have to call looking for your glasses they should have called me. My two pairs cost 464.00 with exam. I also bought my wife two pairs and my son two pair this year. Next time my family needs glasses I'll be going back to Americas best. read more

We were first so bummed that we had only missed the doors closing by 10 minutes. Was completely dark and not one car out front, the staff were quick to clear out for the thanksgiving holiday. Sadly my husband and I were bummed at the lax schedule at this place today and went into house of optical in Clawson as a backup and couldn't have been happier that this eyeglass world wasn't open after 3pm today in the end. All worked out well and we enjoyed our whole experience at house of optical. read more

Had to come here in a pinch. My eye glass store in usually metro vision, but due to unforeseen circumstances was closed so I came here. Everyone there is so sweet! Not only that, eye glass world has the best prices for eye exams and frames! My eye and contact lens exam was only $95 compared to $140 at Henry Ford. I also got two frames (Michael Kors and Ray Bans with hi-flex lenses on both) for about $350! This is such a great deal for brand name frames. When I used to go to Lens Crafter, I paid about $500 or $600 for just one pair of Ray Bans. I'm so glad my cousin recommended this store to me. read more

They took my money, then ghosted me. I ordered 2 pairs a few days ago, never received a text that my glasses were ready. I've been calling and calling, nothing. Rings three times then disconnects. I tried calling other locations only to be put on hold forever. Now, I've been on hold with the corporate number for over 10 minutes. No one is picking up this phone either. Purchased three pair of eyeglasses for almost the same price I paid for my last single pair. I bought myself progressive eyeglasses, progressive poloroid sunglasses and progressive poloroid sunglasses for my husband. The young girl that helped us and Tressel were so patient helping us pick out our glasses. I changed my mind on my sunglasses and traded them for a different pair with no problems. We typically don't go to chain vision or dental centers but my husbands glasses broke and we needed to get in somewhere right away. Called in the morning and got an appt for 12:30. My husband said the optometrist was great. He did everything our local eye doctor does and was very knowledgeable with questions my husband had. Afterward we went out to select a new pair of frames (over 500 of there 700 frames were covered by our eye insurance) and they have a huge selection that includes designer frames if you looking for a specific pair. Once he was fitted we were told to return at 3:30 for pick up. It was easy, clean, and everyone was extremely friendly. I plan on retuning this winter when I'm due for new frames instead of visiting our old optometrist. read more

My experience here was awesome and I am compelled enough to write my review. The ladies there was very informative and helped me to set my eye exam appointment the very next day. Also a great selection of eye frames. Because I already had an eye exam from previous months she even insisted I try for a fax to transfer my eye prescription, which I would have had to pay with my insurance. After having my needed prescription on file, they proceeded to work on my eyeglass and I was able to pick it up the very same day in an hour. Same day, great service. read more

Oh... they don't use your eye insurance - only for the exam... way overpriced for the quality of product that you receive. 2 pair for $78 is a lie.. more like $678. You have to be single vision only - Not a good experience. We will not be going here again. read more
