Invoice came quickly by email & no indication that discounts were applied for my vision insurance so I emailed right away (#1). Phone calls, voice messages & 7 emails later, NO RESPONSE FROM CUST SRVC. 4 days after order, the status on my order changed from "pending" to "back ordered" & still no communication, not even to notify me. New question on order...new email(#2). Phone calls, voice messages & emails (#3, 4 & & 5) Days 13-15 (#6 &7) my order status changed to "in process".... ...whatever that means. No expected shipping date. I just want to know if my insurance was applied to my purchase so we can resolve that if needed & when I can expect my glasses. Ordered frames and lenses on 06/28. from the timely service and 3 to 5 business days to ship reviews I gave them 9 days and then started emailing for updates. Chat box on site has no reps available and emails go unanswered it has been 16 days with no response. I received my glasses a day late because of UPS issues not Eyeglasses.com. After opening the box and saw my glasses, all I can say is they really did a good job. My frame is 5 years old, now it looks brand new. They also returned my old lenses. After I tried my glasses on, they were perfect. This is my computer glasses. I'm sending my distance glasses next. I like my eyeglasses, and they have all sizes and lots of styles. That said, it took almost 4 weeks to get them. And didn't receive any acknowledgement on my order the first few days, I had to keep asking about it. Still waiting for my glasses and it's been over 30 days since my order was placed. The website still lists them as being processed so it's not even at the shipping stage. When I called they claimed that my frames were not in stock and so they were waiting for them to be delivered but on their website it lists them as being in stock. If I could give zero stars I would, these frames arrived broken & although I've tried to contact eyeglasses.com & the four payment system they use called "afterpay" to try to resolve this it's been a FULL month since they arrived broken. I ordered a pair of prescription eyeglasses in mid-December of 2020. I heard nothing until Jan. 3rd when they emailed to say that the specific frame I had ordered was backordered until Jan. 16, 2021. Then, the order was suddenly canceled this week and I only found out when I signed into my account online to check the status. Amazing service. I completely did my order wrong, (it can get overwhelming with all the tech stuff pertaining to glasses and lenses), and the chat room host called me with permission to fix my entire order. She then spent 20 minutes answering all of my dumb questions and got me into the best pair of lenses. When the total was more than I already paid she applied a discount code and actually refunded me eleven dollars! This was the best online experience I have had period. read more

This had to be the absolute WORST online purchasing experience I've ever had. Before I even ordered my first pair of prescription sunglasses I contacted customer support and asked if i could have gradient lenses instead of full tint, which I was told 'yes'. The glasses came with full tint. I contacted them and they said to return them and reorder, which I did but then was told I had to pick a different frame..which was an additional cost! Again I asked if I could get gradient lenses and was again told yes. When the 2nd pair came they came with full tint. i returned them and asked for a full refund and they said 'no' only store credit. I then sat on the phone for over 45 minutes waiting to speak with a manager who told me it was up to the Returns department who would email a final decision. When I asked for a phone # for that department I was told there wasn't a direct number that call communications was gone via email. What a SCAM company!! read more

I really like the styles for the glasses. Although, they do take a while to get to you, I think it's worth it. The last pair I bought were also from this website and they lasted for 4 years before the color of the frames wore off (to be fair I kept forgetting to take them off when showering, so I think it was the water that finally wore them down). read more

I called customer service, emailed, and initiated online chats repeatedly to straighten out my order. To date - this company has KEPT my money with no communication regarding reimbursement. I had to though follow up three times in order for the glasses to actually be ordered from manufactured. I placed my order for the glasses online and it did not require me to enter my pupillary distance so I did not. They then sent me an email saying to confirm it so they could begin making my lenses. I responded to the email and three days later the status on my order said "awaiting PD". I called them to notify them and they said they would begin making them soon because they apparently did not receive my PD in the email. Days past and they still Haden's begin making them so I called customer service again and then they were at my house in three days. read more

I did a little research and discovered that lenses and frames come from big centralized vendors with local stores basically assembling the final product and surviving on incredibly high margins. Exactly the economic model the internet has destroyed time & again. I just needed lenses for my existing frames, but very high end with progressive bifocals. At roughly 1/3 the price of our local opticians, eyeglasses.com supplied the exact same lens. I sent my existing frames with the old prescription. They took the progressive specs off the old lenses, made & installed new ones and sent them back, all in about 1 1/2 weeks. Perfect. I did need some help selecting the lenses and used the online chat. The advise was sound. I've only tried lenses, not frames, and used the internet not the store, but I'll be back. Terrible. They broke my designer frames while replacing prescription lenses. They refused to replace with the same designer, or make any real accommodation to reimburse me. This is their business and, were completely inept in doing something that should be routine. Adding insult to injury, the rep was downright flippant and unwilling to do anything to make it right. - putting the burden on me to resolve. They would only replace my expensive frames with cheaper ones and asked me to pay 50% of the retail cost (which is their wholesale price). Also, the frames they broke looked good and took me a long time to find. How would I find a replacement that look good. Stay away from these incompetent and offensive people. read more

The glasses I received are nice and the prescription is spot on. I lowered it one star only because the right lens is just slightly loose in the metal frame, even with the screw tightened down as far as possible. The lens are glass not plastic, and much harder to manufacture. After receiving these I ordered sun glasses with plastic lens. Again perfect prescription. Only negative is the temple to temple distance is just a bit too small or short, my fault, but still quite acceptable. Somehow I just have to remember to buy wider frames, not really sure how to do that on line. Will order glasses again. read more

I paid close to $600 for a fancy pair of Silhouette titanium eyeglasses from this company, which I had to go to Westport to pick up. I thought titanium would be sturdy - apparently not. After less than 2 years, one of the arms broke off. I went back to have them repaired and learned that it would cost another $100 as the part had to be ordered from Europe (Sweden, I think.) So, they fixed it and a year later, the other arm broke off. Now they are telling me that the replacement arm is no longer available. So, my glasses that I paid $700 for less than 3 years ago are now trash. No wonder they offered no warranty on them. I'll never shop through them again - I don't care how attractive they look on the website. read more

Takes a couple weeks to get glass lenses but they tell you that up front and it didn't take a day longer than they said. "OH- your frames are imported. it will be just one more week. but we have the lenses ready to go". enter excuse #2) "oh- it's taking extra time because of the government shut-down, it'll be just one more week". enter week/excuse #3) "your frames have shipped- we expect them in 3 to 4 days". enter excuse #4) "your lenses didn't pass quality control- so we're re-making them, since it's thursday, we expect to have them done & the glasses shipped by monday". excuse #5) "your glasses have shipped- but the shipping department does not have your tracking info." by now the date is march 5. I think this company just takes people's money, deposits it in savings and then earns interest until you catch on to the spoof & demand a refund. the good news is- they did immediately issue a refund on march 5. $351 WOULD have been a very nice price for designer frames with lenses- if they ACTUALLY included anything other than a bunch of excuses. read more

Absolutely the worst online experience. Please think twice before using this company. I placed an order for a pair of prescription Oakley sunglasses over 3 weeks ago. They charged my card the day I placed my order even though I was assured that I would not be charged until my glasses were shipped. They also charged me $50 dollars more than my original order. The Eyeglasses.Com store at 147 Post Road East, in Westport, CT is by far the best eye glass experience I have ever had, and that says alot since I have been wearing glasses for 50 years! The frames and the quality of the lenses are produced are of the very highest quality, and Mark and Lisa, the two individuals who assisted me in the store are completely knowledgeable. I ended up with a beautiful titanium frame and excellent transition lenses that are absolutely perfect. When I explained to Lisa that I have been trying to find prescription sunglasses for years that would have a curvature, and thus shield my eyes from wind when road biking, has always been a challenge, given my high prescription. Lisa suggest that I should look at Bolle, and she did all of the research, found an awesome frame, and the end result is a highly protective sunglass that doesnt even look as if it has a prescription... all at a very, very fair price. Generally, I find that there are inexpensive vendors in the market, where one often finds quality compromised, and then overpriced vendors who have always disappointed me. Disputed the charge on my credit card and they told the credit card company that they never received a return from me. What would I possibly return? Reported to Consumer Affairs as well.
