I had a problem with my eye glasses. I left them in my dashboard and soon enough, the heat from the sun misaligned my eye glasses. I called Eyelab to inquire regarding my eye glass issue, Yuri, the guy I spoke with, asked for me to come in for him to take a look at them. As I went in, he took a look at them and went to the back room. After a few minutes, he gave my glasses like they're brand new. And the best part about it is, he didn't charge me for it. Once again, I broke an arm off my glasses, so I called the amazing Eye Lab staff for help. Did I need new lenses? No, just frames. If we have the frames you want, we probably will be able to have them ready by 5 pm today. Today??? Yes! After immediately driving there (5 min drive), my glasses were examined and I was advised my scratched lenses needed replacement. After choosing my frames, a pretty & flattering purple pair, I agreed on replacing my lenses. Imagine my delight at not only having my new specs ready for pick-up at 5, but for ONLY $60!!! To be honest, I did pick frames from the least expensive section, but they were pretty, sturdy, and there were many to choose from. Finally, the staff and the owner couldn't be more helpful & friendly! Don't be misled by the simple building exterior; this is a quality operation. Street parking & limited back parking are available. I look forward to visiting Eye Lab every time because they are so professional and dependable! read more

Sure, you are welcomed so warmly and are offered an awesome deal on glasses, but my question is, when do you actually receive your glasses? My friend went in 3 weeks ago, and was told that her glasses would be ready the next week. When she called the next week, a woman answered and said that the lenses were ready, but that the frames had not yet arrived. She called again a few days later, and a man answered and told her that they were just finishing up the lenses... completely contradicting what she had been told by the woman when she had initially called for an update. This man said that her glasses would take up to a month to be ready. In what world would this ever happen? Also, when we had initially stopped in, the woman asked if she wanted to put down a deposit, my friend told the woman who helped her that she'd pay half then and the other half when she picked up. The woman "accidentally," charged her the full amount. This is ridiculous... how do you accidentally charge someone more when you run cards all day? That was obviously definitely not a mistake, and I'm almost positive that they pull this with all of the customers. My advice is to avoid this place. My friend has been waiting on her glasses for over 3 weeks. read more

Came in here, waited less than 10 minuted although the place looked crowded, and left with the assurance I'd be texted in less than 1.5 hours confirming my glasses would be ready for pickup. I am very disappointed in Eyelab. I used to be a fan. When I got my first lenses there, I was pleased with the price and recommended them to 2 friends. However, my glasses scratched very easily. My guess is that the aftermarket anti-reflective coating they use is bad. Three pairs in a year. I take very good care of my glasses. My old glasses would last at least 5 years. See picture. There is no warranty and they take no responsibility. And then the owner is rude and angry on top of that. read more

I have been sitting in the waiting area of Eyelab for 20 minutes. I have yet to be acknowledged in any way. I am waiting for somebody to show me some options for wider faces since I don't want to try on everything in the store. Also, there are customers who entered after me who are being helped at the moment. I thought about making my objections known, I thought about telling the clerk that I was here first. However the clerk knows I was here first - she chose to serve the other customers first - so here I sit in the waiting area pecking away this review on my phone - still waiting for anyone to utter a common courtesy like "we'll be with you in 10 minutes" or "thank you for waiting" I feel I might die of old age before I am acknowledged. read more

I managed to break the frame on my progressive lenses mid-pandemic and needed either a new frame or a new set altogether (can't do work on my computer without these glasses; my backup pair could only work with far distances). The frame was broken beyond repair. Eyelab was one of the only stores open in the area and I can't overstate how efficient and helpful they were. They immediately picked out a stylish frame that matched the old pair well and, after showing them to me for approval, they just swapped in the old lenses. This took them only 30 minutes. I thought this problem would cost me much more money and time. I actually prefer the new frame and it was significantly more affordable than my previous one. Let me start off with saying, I feel taken advantage of by LENSCRAFTERS. It was like a bad relationship where the person doesn't think they can do better. Well guess what? YOU CAN and EYELAB is wonderful and treated me right! I found Eyelab when I was looking for a new eye doctor. The reviews sounded too good to be true. I decided to give it a shot. My brother and I went to get our new glasses. The parking was a piece of cake, I parked right in front and the angels sang when I realized there was no meter to put money in. As an LA girl you really appreciate the rare gem which is free parking. Once inside a super nice gentleman helped us. I believe his name was Jose. It's a small place, but has lots of frames. He said one wall was the "package deals" meaning it's one price for the glasses and the frames and it starts at $50. Then he said the other side were the more designer glasses and they could range from $75 to $200. All of these prices were cheaper then LensCrafters. Jose was wonderful because he didn't try to up sell us on anything. He truly wanted us to find the right pair of glasses. I went with my brother and he got a designer pair ($115 total) and I got the package deal ($50 total). I am still shocked at how little I spent. You have to understand my last pair of eyeglasses from lenscrafters cost $900 and WERE NOT DESIGNER. Lenscrafters told me it was because my prescription was so strong. So, being at Eyelab and paying $50 dollars is AMAZE. Let me also say they are the best glasses I have every gotten for my face and I've worn glasses since the 6th grade. I never wear my glasses out, only at home to break from contacts. This is the first time where I'm thinking about coordinating outfits for them :) You must put down a deposit for the glasses when you choose your frames. We were able to pick ours up the next day. When we did we each received a really nice eyeglass case, a small spray bottle of cleaner and a cloth. So wonderful. Bottom line. Sometimes you think the big chains are where you'll get the deals when they'll really just molest you and tell you lies. Found Eyelab through Yelp! Yay :) I had a pair of frames already, and just wanted the lenses made (TIP: I got my eyeglass exam and prescription from Costco for $50.00). Eyelab was able to make my lenses for $90. The place I used to go to in Altadena would've charged me $300. The girl helping me (Maria?) was friendly, professional and efficient. As promised, I got a call from her later on that afternoon letting me know my glasses were ready. Stay the heck away from the Lenscrafters, people. Come to Eyelab. It's not hype, they're really that good. Eyelab's 5-star reputation is well deserved. Great service, unbelievable prices, same day turn-around, and quality work. P.S. I've been back to Eyelab to have additional glasses made (one for close reading, another for distance seeing and driving). While it's true that you can get basic eyeglasses here for very little money, my own goal was to get some really nice designer frames that satisfied some very specific requirements, while still spending as little as possible. As my presbyopia had just reached the point that I needed a separate set of reading glasses, it was doubly important that these glasses be reasonably priced, and in this I was not disappointed. I'm very concerned about exposure to toxic substances, and had read that the carcinogenic metal nickel is used extensively in eyeglass frames. I asked the proprietor here about this and found that, as in many stores, many of the lowest-priced frames were made partly from nickel. So right away I was into a higher class of frame, just from that one requirement. The important thing to me is that the proprietor was aware of the metals that were in his frames, and was candid about answering my questions regarding them. My research had indicated that titanium frames were non-toxic, and that an alloy called Beta-Titanium (which is now used in many frames), also did not have nickel and was generally stable and non-toxic. So, for my two pairs of eyeglasses I selected one pure titanium designer frame (from Calvin Klein) for my far-vision glasses that I would be wearing outside the house, and one store brand, less expensive, but nonetheless "designer" Beta-titanium frame that I would be using for reading at home. Because I have a fairly strong prescription, I ordered special high-index lenses for both sets of glasses to minimize the width and weight of the lenses. This material adds a lot of expense, so consider this when you see my final price below. I was offered a choice of either frosted (unpolished) or polished edges at no extra cost, so I got the polished edges for a better look. I was advised by the proprietor that it might cause some glare when side-lit (e.g., by an overhead spot) since these were rimless frames. But I got them anyway, and yes, there is a little glare under certain rare conditions, but overall I'm very pleased with the look. UV and anti-scratch and anti-glare were apparently standard with these lenses, and so did not add to the cost. The glasses look fantastic, the prescription is perfect, the frames are sturdy, the fitting was attentive and precise, the service during selection and fitting was sterling, and the bottom line price for both complete pairs of single-vision (with astigmatism) glasses together was: $550. Yes, I could have gotten two sets of eyeglasses with the same prescription for less than half that amount at this same location, but getting the lowest price, as already mentioned, was not my only goal. Instead, I got two sets of ultra-lightweight designer frames and lenses for a significantly higher price. But, given my requirements, I think I did far better at this location than I would have anywhere else. I will definitely be using this shop when my prescription changes again. read more

Let me start by saying i love this place. My brother in law told me about eye lab just last week. I told him i liked his glasses, he told me how much he spent. I couldn't believe it! 50$ a pair! I have been trying to get my fiance to get a pair of glasses for over a year so he didn't always have to be in contacts. We went down to the Eye Lab a few days later. The staff was so nice and very helpful. the best part is you can get the glasses with in the same day, sometimes with in an hour depending on how busy they are! read more

I received my eye exam at LensCrafters in Sherman Oaks ($90 bucks for the curious), but then scurried out of there when the high-pressure sales guy quoted me a whopping $750 additional dollars for two single vision lenses and two frames: one regular "half-off" frames and one pair of sunglasses. Outrageous, even by full retail standards. I came home, checked Yelp and went to Eye Lab instead. I received one pair of regular single vision lenses with frames (that I LOVE) for $50. The prescription sunglasses (aviator style) were $110. So I'm getting two new pair of glasses with new frames, one of them sunglasses, all for $160. Are you freaking kidding me? Three years ago, I spent $240 at Target for one pair! They said both my glasses should be ready by Wednesday. Considering I wandered in at 4 pm on a Friday afternoon, not too bad. Do yourself a favor and check this place out before you go somewhere else. They have some pricier designer frames, but their wall of free frames is extensive, better than any selection at Target, LensCrafters or similar box retail stores. And there is ZERO sales pressure here. The young lady who assisted me was very honest and straightforward. I opted out of the anti-reflective coating because it always gets scratched up and most places won't replace it for free. She told me they would make my lenses without it for now, but if I changed my mind, they would add it later for $40 bucks. Wow! Can't say enough great things about this place. read more

Brought in my own frames and Jose was very nice with letting me know my pricing options for lenses. Extremely inexpensive and freakin' quick! I've never received my glasses at this warp speed before. I think the turnaround time was about 30-45 min, which is pretty damn impressive. When I picked up my glasses, Jose included a case and a lens cleaning kit. Top notch advice, great service, no hard sell but I was given the best, least expensive option, took it, and was not disappointed. I get compliments on my glasses constantly, they look like wayfarers, but cost me $50. Same day lens service, too! I didn't even ask for that, it's just how they do biz. In addition to my corrective lenses, I also had non-prescription shades put into my grandmother's cat eye glasses from the 50s and they did a beautiful job - not even a nick on those brittle old frames. Then I tried WAL-Mart (I like to save money too)..ANOTHER HUGE MISTAKE, I did place an order there ($400ish)...Two week later the order came back WRONG...FULL refund thank you. I looked at LensCrafters...way too expensive I looked up eyeware near Burbank at YELP, and found EYELAB...Its the best place on earth to get frames. They listen to you. They give you time to decide. THE DEALS ARE BETTER than Target & Wal-Mart. AND...they make the lenses right there. I placed my order on wed. they were done on FRIDAY. Walmart took two weeks and still got it wrong..FOR MORE MONEY. I wish I could give this place 6 stars! I've been wearing glasses since I was 6 years old and I've never found a quality place that was so affordable. There's a wall of glasse near the door that are included in the price of the lenses. So all you have to pay for are the lenses, which are already prices cheaper than any other store would sell them! My glasses came to $60 total, and that included the polycarbonate lenses (I'm really blind). I couldn't believe it! This place was a little hard to find for me. I live down the street and I'd never seen it before, so just keep your eyes peeled. read more

Love Eyelab!!! They saved me from a LensCrafters nightmare. LensCrafters told me the creaky glasses they gave me were "normal" because of my astigmatism prescription, and Eyelab proved that completely wrong. They took my pair of vintage frames and made super sturdy non-creaky lenses that fit perfectly. They also made my glasses in about an hour because it was the day before Thanksgiving and they wanted to make sure I had them before the long-weekend off. After my great experience, I referred my dad here. He's been going to LensCrafters for over 20 years and was shocked at how much cheaper Eyelab's price is and how great they made his glasses. Wow...this place is freaking amazing. In and out service, very friendly guy Jose, sooo much cheaper going directly to the lab than through a middle man and they had them done much sooner! I got my prescription made from another place. They were gonna charge me around $500 minimum not including frame and it would've taken 2weeks all because I have a high stigmatizm. Not with Eye Lab. Jose...life saver. $125 including both lenses, frame and I paid $75 extra for this thing that changes my glasses into shades when im in the sun. ($199 total) Wow!! And it's gonna be done in 4days simply because it's late Friday and their closed on weekends. I love this place and am so happy with the service! Always coming back! read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Eye Lab. I went into various shops with my dream glasses in mind: purple and cheap (price wise). Simple enough right? All the stores I visited had either a very small collection of colored glasses or they were extremely expensive. In short, no one had what I was looking for. I went to Eye Lab on a whim. I saw it on Yelp, it was 4 p.m. and I live in L.A. I headed to NoHo hoping it would still be open when I arrived. It was 6:05 when I arrived. Notice the closing time is 6 sharp. I walked in and I was welcomed with open arms. They said nothing even though it was after closing time and I tried on a million glasses (sorry guys). All my questions were answered and the guy there waited patiently while I tried on all the glasses that caught my eye. He even suggested a couple which he thought I might like. In the end, I was torn between a $65 frame and a $130 frame. I went with the latter. I chose a simple poly-carb lense. Total cost: $180. I was unbelievably happy. It was a couple days before Xmas, so now I had extra cash to burn since I had saved up because I didn't expect to spend so little. I found my plastic purple frames with pink on inside as an added bonus. They had a bunch of colorful frames which was difficult to find at the stores that I visited for some reason. Their prices range from very very inexpensive to a bit more pricey but you can be sure you'll find something that suits your needs. I got my glasses the next day. I could have gotten them 30 minutes later had I not arrived after closing time. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Go there and save yourself a couple hundred dollars. You won't be disappointed. One more thing: Arrive with your prescription in hand. They are not optometrists and won't be able to give you an exam. Just saying. read more
