We have been customers of EZ Air Control for about 6 years. Highly recommend. Jose is the owner. EZ Air has replaced our furnace and installed a new a/c system. They had also installed a Samsung digital inverter heat and a/c system in a separate room that needs its own individual system. Perfect solution! We have never had a problem with either until this year, something not easily detected. He basically provided super service and did not even charge us for his advice. On another occasion, we had AC problems at home. He found that a wire had been damaged by critters. Repaired the wire and shielded the wiring so it wouldn't happen again. The AC worked perfectly. A third time was when the furnace went out. His suggestion was to repair the furnace with a temporary fix and be prepared to get a new furnace. The old furnace could have been repaired at a much higher cost, but the furnace was old, and it wouldn't be advisable. When we finally agreed to get the new furnace, he discounted the original service charge and fixed us up with a much better heating system at a very fair price. read more

I put in a valve for a wall furnace but had a couple of sticking points I wasn't sure about. It's a new valve to replace one no longer sold. I didn't want to mess things up and decided to call a pro. I called Jose based on the Yelp reviews. I was not disappointed. He is knowledgeable, professional, and a nice guy to work with. I would not hesitate to call him again for future furnace or A/C maintenance. Two notes to keep in mind: -He only takes cash or check -He is busy due to his well deserved Yelp reviews and may not get back to you right away. But he will get back to you. Does anyone else think this Winter has been WAY colder than last? Man, it's been freezing and my place has felt like a walk-in freezer for weeks! When the chill hit The Bay about three weeks ago, right before Christmas, I set my thermostat to pump up the heat in my house. Unfortunately, after a thorough inspection, I realized my furnace was broken and needed professional repair. Timing couldn't have been worse. Since we were in midst of the holiday season plus the frigid weather, it was impossible for me to get a tech out to my place. After waiting a couple weeks, I finally got a hold of Jose at EZ Air Control. During our first conversation he asked what I did to verify my heater was actually in need of repair. I told him all the tasks I performed to ensure it was actually broken. After a 15-minute conversation, Jose determined it was time for him to roll out to my place with his guns blazing! I took his first available appointment which was about about a week out. He came by on a Wednesday morning at 9;30am. Jose brought his son, Brandon, with him. I thought that was cool. Keep it in the family! They located my heater in the attic and went to work. They spent about 1.5 hours at my place. Jose inspected every little detail, trying to gather as much information so he could properly diagnose the problem. After first he thought it was this, then it was that. He tried his best to keep the price as low as possible. He was trying to avoid the expensive repairs/replacements. In the end, it turned out the circuit board on my furnace had fried. I told him to replace it no matter the cost! No joke, two more days in the cold would have killed me. After Jose and Brandon finished the job, hot air immediately started flowing throughout my place. It took no more than a couple minutes to completely heat my condo up. It felt AWESOME! The heater has been working like a charm and I no longer have to bundle up at home. Gone are the days when my place is sitting in the 30s when I wake up! I highly recommend Jose. He's SUPER professional and personable. He makes you feel extremely comfortable and won't attempt to rip you off. He's honest about his work and business. He gave me a Yelp discount which wasn't expected but awesome. My total job came out to $358.87. After learning that my home's heating system was installed improperly and was dangerous to run, I used space heaters for a month to heat my home. Little did I know electric space heaters would jack up my PG&E bill to an astoundingly high amount (no, really, it's ridiculously high). That was it! Something had to be done! I perused the "Heating" section in the good old yellow pages. I chose 5 or 6 heating companies and called them to ask for a free estimate to repair my heating system. It was Saturday, so I left messages on each company's voice mail. Jose of EZ Air Control was the only one to call me back that day. Furthermore, I explained my situation to him (no heat!) and he said he could come out the next day to take a look. Right away I was impressed with him, as he was nice and courteous to me, not to mention he offered to come to my house on a Sunday! He showed up the next day, and I explained to him that I didn't have a lot of money to spend on the repair. He was very understanding and found a safe way to reconnect my furnace to my home's duct work so I could have heat in my home, all at a VERY fair price. Jose was honest, straight forward, and thoughtful, and I am very appreciative of his personalized service. BTW, out of the 5-6 companies I called, only 4 returned my call, and one of them wanted to charge me $150 to come out and inspect my heating system so they could give me an estimate! Ha!!! Although EZ Air Control does not accept credit cards (perhaps to help keep overhead low and pass the savings on to the customer), this didn't matter because the price was so fair, which, in the end, allowed me to pay by check (unlike another company that wanted to charge me 3 times as much to do pretty much the same kind/type of work on my heating system - even the technician that performed the inspection was astounded by his boss's convoluted estimate!). Last but not least, Jose postponed a job that was already scheduled so he could get my heating system up and running ASAP. Now that's awesome customer service! Bottom line: I am very pleased with the work Jose did (Yay! I have heat!), and his friendly customer service was the icing on the cake. Jose of EZ Air Control is the best!! I informed him that I found him on Yelp and I saw a bunch of Five Stars. This guy must be good plus he gave me a 10 per cent discount for being a Yelper...Yay!! I called him because my heater was not working and informed me what to look for 1) check the circuit breaker 2) check the fuse on the switch. Since I did both and no change I called him and let him know. He came over in a timely manner and diagnosised the problem (faulty door switch) and fixed it for $81.00. Was I relieved that it was not a $50.00 part and a $200.00 installation. Kudos to EZ Air Control and to Yelp. That is outstanding service. We set up an appointment date and he called me about an hour before he arrived. He ended up being about 15 minutes later than the proposed time, but we live in the Bay Area and sometimes traffic is a bitch so I wont ding any stars for it. While he wasn't able to fix my A/C unit (it's from 1980, so, no surprise) he was very informative and was able to get the fan feature on the thermostat to work. He was friendly, and honest about everything that could/ couldn't be done. He quoted me for a new set up and went on his way. Jose is the best! I own a recording studio and this summer my AC stopped working. My gear needs to be operating under 70 degrees and my studio was getting upwards of 85+ degrees. I jumped onto yelp, saw the 5 star review and called Jose. He met with me bright and early the next day with all the necessary tools. Within 4 hours, he replaced my filters, discovered I had no fluid in the HVAC, filled the HVAC with new fluid, ran a test to ensure the fluid wasn't leaking, and before I knew it, my studio was back to 68 degrees on a 90 degree day. Jose was so nice (I cannot stress how kind he was! Honestly such a nice guy!). Every step of the way he explained to me his process, his fee's and his professional opinion. He was very up front letting me know where he was in his progress and where we were financially. He even gave me a 90 day warranty if anything malfunctions again! I couldn't believe it! After relocating to the Bay Area from NC almost 2 years ago, I have found myself using Yelp quite often when we have a need arise to hire a professional. As I have become a more frequent Yelp user, I have made a vow to spend more time actually writing reviews so that others may benefit. In this case, after spending 2 summers sweating it out inside with windows open and fans everywhere, we determined that the theory that AC is not needed in this area is, in fact, false. Maybe it's our southeast US roots, but we needed some cold air STAT! After checking out Yelp reviews and contacting a couple of professionals in our area, we decided without hesitation to use Jose and EZ Air Control. Not only did Jose offer a very fair price for the service, but we felt like he was honest, experienced, and would take excellent care of our home. We were not disappointed. I had to leave a couple of messages for Jose, but persistence pays off. Being self employed makes it more difficult to answer all calls or return voicemails right away. I get that and understand. When Jose called me back, he asked me to walk him through the project and my needs. He was able to give me an approximate cost and said that, if we were interested, he would come to our house for a more formal walk-through and quote. We were, and he did. His price did not change after a review of our home and our needs. Jose asked me to provide him with some dates I could be available for installation. After confirming with his installation assistants, we settled on a date. Jose brought 2 gentleman with him on the day of the install, both of whom were professional and considerate. They worked diligently all day to to get our AC up and running and also replace our 34 year old furnace. We couldn't be more pleased. My wife and I purchased our house in 2016 which was built in 1985. We were lucky enough to acquire the original 1985 furnace that came with it. This thing sounded like a chain saw starting, it was insanely loud! Needless to say, it was time for an upgrade. I found Jose on yelp and gave him a call. He called me back a few hours latter. One of the coldest days of the year, and my heater broke last night! So I found Jose from other yelpers and gave him a call this morning. He picked up the phone personally and indicated that he's on a job and can't come to look at my heater problem until after 5pm. Even though he couldn't come over immediately, he walked me through the step by step to troubleshoot the furnace patiently! Checking the fuses and switches. He mentioned that if I changed the filter recently, I may have a loose filter door and the safety switch may not be triggered. I told him that the heater worked for a while after I changed the filter, so I didn't think that was the problem. He insisted that I checked that anyways. Well, Jose knows his stuff, because that was really the culprit!! So even though I didn't spend a single penny on Jose's business, he helped me solved my problem! JOSE IS THE BEST YOU CAN GET!!!!!!!! Called in for a consult since my work's air conditioning hasn't been working in three of the rooms for quite some time. Right away, he was able to fit me in his schedule and came as promised. I DO NOT know anything about air conditioning/heaters etc but Jose explained to me everything that can possibly be wrong. He took a look at our control units and went to work right away on the roof. He even went in the rooms the air was not working in. We contacted Jose, the owner of EZ Air Control, based on his reviews in Yelp. We were impressed with his knowledge and experience, over the phone and in person. He's also a Fremont area small business owner that we like to support. We needed to replace our non working upstairs furnace and add Air Conditioning. In addition our downstairs old furnace needed to be checked for repair options or replacement. Our house was already prewired for AC. Jose assessed our needs and gave us a verbal estimate followed up with a detailed e-mail on cost for equipment and installation. We decided to replace the downstairs furnace at the same time since it was very old (over thirty years). Jose and his crew came out the following week. He reviewed what they would be doing during the removal and replacement of two furnaces and adding AC upstairs. We called EZ Air Control because our A/C unit was not blowing enough cold air. Jose came out, checked and tested our A/C unit and he was very thorough in explaining there was nothing wrong with it. He told us the unit would take a while to blow cold air because we have a small air duct and also we did not turn on the unit until the house was too hot. He told me it costs around $65 to do the diagnosis. I agreed. He came and spent a few minutes connecting a barometer-type thing to the outside unit. of course, there was no pressure. so There is a Leak. Then he told me that I need to spend extra 200-300 in order to figure out where the leak is!! How could a diagnosis service doesn't include finding where the leak is! read more

I called Jose as one of 3 quotes for either three new wall heaters or central heating in a new-to-us house. He came out to do the estimate arriving on time. He was the last of the three to come by the house and the first to bring in a ladder and actually inspect the area. One guy came in counted the number of rooms and took my fax number and said I would have a quote later that day (10 days later still no quote). The next buy came in with nothing and counted the room and emailed me the quote. Jose explained all that he would have to do to get the system and explained the different options and ratings of the systems. He explained everything so well and in terms I could understand that I felt that I actually knew what I was purchasing. When we received his quote we were pleasantly surprised that his quote was not 100's but 1000's less then others and he got the job. I live in San Francisco and didn't realize that Jose doesn't service the city area, so I had already left him a message about our heater not being able to get the heat over 65 degrees. He still called me back within 30min of leaving the message, and then spent the next 5 min on the phone with me trouble-shooting the problem. What a nice guy! And, he was exactly right on the issue (we simply needed to replace the filter on the furnace). I give this guy 5 stars since I want to give him credit for 2 things: first, calling me back right away even just to let me know they don't service Alamo Square area, and second, to spend time on the phone with me with genuine concern over the issue I was having. Jose just finished a repair of my furnace. From the first call he was very different from the other guys I called. He started diagnosing the problem over the phone and although he made sure to state that he needed to see the furnace, gave me a rough estimate over the phone. When he got here, he realized the issue was different but he charged me the same labor as he quoted over the phone and just had to go pick up a different part. Through the entire diagnosis and repair process he let us know what he was doing and why he was doing it. I also talked to him about replacing the 30 year old furnace and installing air conditioning at the same time. Although he would have gotten a much bigger job, he actually recommended against installing air conditioning. Telling us that we didn't really need it. How's that for an honest assessment? We will probably end up getting the air conditioning and furnace replacement anyway in a couple of months and we will be sure to call Jose to perform the work. If you want an honest, trustworthy contractor who has fair prices, Jose's the guy for you. Plus he has a very friendly, customer service centric attitude. read more

My mom's very old heater gave out a few weeks back (coldest time of the year of course) and was going to need a new one installed. I called several companies for quotes/ questions and just wasn't comfortable with any of them. Found EZ Air Control on yelp and put in a call. Jose called back promptly and set an appt to come look at the heater. It's so nerve wracking to find and trust service companies, but what a pleasant surprise!!
