I'm writing this review in hopes that Joe will stop texting me with his revisionist history and seemingly wanting to argue and gaslight me. Since my past two reviews, I've found a different AC contractor who was much more professional and fixed the AC issues - my AC is finally working again. Separately, pest control has fixed the rat issue as well. To be clear, I have not been in direct contact with Joe since August 2023, and out of the blue, Joe texted me yesterday (5/30/24) claiming to apologize for not being able to help fix my issue last year, and also asked for more details about what was wrong with the AC and how it was fixed. I gave Joe multiple chances last year to come diagnose and fix the AC, and not only did he brush me off as I stated in my previous reviews, he was also quite rude in going about it (e.g., gas lit me saying he'll get to it when it's convenient for him and when he's nearby - and he didn't have any projects in my area any time in the near future). I explicitly asked Joe what he wanted from texting me yesterday, and after two days of back and forth texting, he still hasn't shared his reason for reaching out to me. Instead, our texts basically became a rehash of Joe being defensive, gaslighting me, not taking any accountability, and either misremembering or outright lying. For example, Joe publicly claims to never ask people to give Giant HVAC 5-star reviews... when in fact he badgered me and asked me multiple times to write a 5-star review when the installation was just completed a few years ago. He even texted me to omit "any of the bad stuff" - referencing the multiple issues we experienced during the installation. To Joe: as I know you're reading this based on the multiple responses you made to my previous reviews, please let me move on. If you do contact me again, please be clear on what your purpose is in doing so. I don't want to rehash what's transpired. As I've stated to you several times, until you're willing to take accountability or admit your errors, us rehashing what happened is non-productive and is a waste of both of our time. Also, Joe's response (below) claims that I posted false information - in an effort to debunk my overall review, which reflect Joe's style of defensiveness and communication. Specifically, in my second Yelp review, I noted that Joe's team installed the outdoors AC unit upside down - which was a typo. Joe's team actually installed my attic AC unit upside down (this was in my original review). Everything else is factual and accurate. read more

I really enjoyed working with Joe. He was so easy to talk to and explained everything in layman's terms for me. He went above and beyond by offering to remove our extremely old furnace (at no cost). Unfortunately, that sucker stayed put because of its awkward location in the crawlspace, lol. It was so kind of him to offer though! Anyways, he helped me install a brand new furnace and A/C unit, all to code. We easily passed the HERS test and the inspector signed off on their work without issues. He was honest about the performance of the system given the type of house layout we had (potential for some areas with poorer airflow). Called Giant HVAC for a quote for a new heat pump and ducting. We scheduled an appointment for the next day at 10-11 the next day. At 10:15, Christine called and left a message that they were running late. I called back and said it was fine to come later..she said closer to 12:30 over the phone. I called them between 1:30-2 a few times and clearly they decided to ignore my calls. I would have been OK to wait longer, it would have been nice to not have to sit around waiting for them for over an hour during the rescheduled time...and for them to at least let me know they couldn't come at all rather than ignore my phone calls. Our 40 year old gas furnace died and Joe came out to give us an estimate on a replacement. First thing, he wanted to try turning it on to see what might be preventing the blower from kicking in. He could tell from the sound that it was getting a signal, and was able to diagnose the problem and get it started. He agreed there was no need to replace the furnace and was hopeful it would get us by until we were ready to install a heat pump and go solar. Joe is AMAZING! If I could I would give him 6 stars I would. First things first, if you expect that the he will do all the work himself, thats not a realistic expectation when it comes to communication and followup, Joe is amongst the very few contractors who is at the top of their game. He is very clear and upfront about setting expectations and then meeting them. I had to travel out of country half way through our project and Joe had offered to come and resolve any issues. Our project was complex and involved replacing single zone HVAC system with a 2 zone Heat pump based system. To make thing more interesting we had to add a new return from the second floor which made the project pretty custom. His team's workmanship is as good but that is to be expected, but following up and mitigating issues when they do arise, because parts fail, things happen thats when Joe shines through. read more

My parent's AC finally gave out after 20+ years...it was time for a new one. I hehlped my mom locate a vendor by searching for locall vendors through yelp. We had a few quotations from local vendors but some were either ovrpriced, never followed up or had hidden fees after the fact when asking additional questons for specified work to be done. Joe was kind enough to prepare an easy to understand quotation selectingi the best option that was best for us. Additionally, the expectations were set ahead of time as some ductwork along with some other minor repairs "may or may not" be required -- but we wouldn't know until the work started. However, he Joe was very upfront about the work that he couldn't do or was not an expert in -- so that was helpful to know in advance so that we can consisder any additional separate costs that may be incurred as part of the AC overall replacement. My mom was very happy with Joe's work as they were very thorough and professional. They cleaned up after all the work was done and Joe even came back to do a quick check and make sure everything was working as intended. He is very patient and spent some time with my mom to show her how to properly handle configurations and filter of the new AC equipment.
