I've been to Japan, this place comes to close being there again. I recommend the Yakisoba, or any of your favorite raman styles. I tried my first curry raman there...delicious. Seating is limited, and the tables are small. Get it to go if you are in a large crowd. read more

1st time eating here with the family. It was super cheap and the food is delicious. The guy makes it in front of you and it's fast. It's not a super fancy place, but simply a delicious hole-in-the-wall for ramen and rice plates. I was fulfilled and had a lot of leftovers for less than $30. Recommended to give it a try. read more

I am quite surprised that I haven't written a review for this place yet. I have been here a few times and have yet to be disappointed. You can get 2 spicy won ton ramens and a side of shrimp tempura for a little less than $17 here. Great deal. They give you a ton of noodles and broth. Almost always enough for another meal. This is my husband's favorite ramen shop. He typically orders the Shio ramen and I normally get the mini shrimp fried rice. He says Ezogiku noodles are the best! I like the shrimp fried rice because it always has this nice toasty/slightly charred flavor to it. The shop is on the small side with some tables and a counter. The people here (the owners?) are nice and efficent while giving you space to enjoy your meal. As someone who isn't a vegetarian but enjoys having vegetarian options, I wish they had a few more choices on the menu. read more

Good food. Serving size is just right, at least for me. I had the Beef Sukiyaki Bowl and it filled me up. My only concern is the cleanliness of the place, maybe my standards are a little high but most of the restaurants at this strip are about the same standards when it comes to that. I had a late-night ramen craving, especially because it was raining out. I decided to come here for a quick bowl around 8:30 pm on a Saturday. It has an old-school hole in the wall vibe, with a counter and booths/tables. I had the chicken vegetable ramen, which I only really wanted for the vegetables. Luckily, they piled on the cabbage, bean sprouts, onions, green onions and carrots! I didn't even really touch the chicken, because it looked sad, but that's okay because I didn't want it anyway. My meal came out to about $8.50 and I was sufficiently stuffed and my ramen craving was satisfied. The broth was tasty but salty, and definitely had MSG. The noodles were the stock local yellow Sun noodle variety, and were a little softer than I usually like. The service was good considering there were only three people working in the whole place - one cook in the back, one cook in the front, and one waiter/cashier/owner. The waiter was nice and the food came quickly considering how many people they were serving at one time. I would come back if I had another late-night craving, but I think I would try something else (like their miso ramen or one of the combos). If you come often, get a stamp card (12 stamps = 1 free ramen). read more

My 4 friends LOVE this place. They love the Ramen, Gyoza, and Yakisoba. One of them said the fried rice was the best he'd ever tasted. I tried all of those things. The Yakisoba was ok, the Ramen was meh, I didn't like the fried rice enough to eat it without sauce on it and I really like fried rice normally. I did think Gyoza was good. The service was ok, too. Overall, not horrible, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. I probably would have given it 2 stars but since four of my friends loved it, I figure I'd give them one more star. read more

I love LOVE LOVE this place. I've been going to this spot for over 25 years. Every time I'm on the island, it's one of the spots I have to go to. Great for late night ramen if you're in Aiea. Ezogiku has a bunch of locations around and is always a good place to get a quick ramen fix. They don't have the greatest ramen, but its good and has all the same combos as other places, i.e. ramen with fried rice and gyoza. They are known best for the miso ramen, which is pretty good, but sometimes can be a little salty. Shio is good, but as the name implies, it's salty too. they also have pretty good katsu curry, but i always go for the ramen since it is a noodle shop. At this location, i like to eat at the counter and watch them cook, its just interesting to watch. I especially like how each bowl of ramen starts out with a little scoop of ajinomoto (aka MSG) in the bowl! that's where the flavor comes from! UMAMI! read more

My boyfriend LOVES this place. For the most part the service is friendly but no frills. But really, every time I eat ramen in Hawaii I have a hard time getting over the fact that everyplace is basically using the same sun ramen noodle. Though I suppose after living and eating in japan for several years there are some foods that will never be the same. For the most part its pretty tasy, especially for the price. For me without its spicy miso paste the ramen would be a little to bland. While I can't be certain the taste of the fried rice seems to be helped alot by MSG. Again I don't know this for certain but as a person who has for some probably dumb reason eaten MSG straight I can kind of taste it. This doesnt bother me at all buf your sensitive to MSG you may want to ask. Overall a great deal for what you get but it does make me long for a great tonkotsu ramen! read more

Curry chicken, I can tell the chicken was old. I have to throw it away. The curry sauce is bitter. I was very disappointed.

I have been a long-time customer of this place. I just ordered a seafood crispy noodle and it smelled rotten. I tasted the shrimp and it was DISGUSTING. I think they gave me rotten food. Lots of parking but it can fill up during lunch time, so grab the first space you see. It was lunch time so ezogiku was busy. We were greeted when we came in and seated ourselves. Menus were brought to us then ice water. Our orders were taken. My char siu ramen was out in no time. So was my gf combo w/rice and gyoza. I've been going here with my folks for years off and on. my dad likes it but I think it's just ok. I have not had any thing to complain about until this past Saturday. My mother and I had a ramen combo with gyoza, and dad had it with fried rice. We were almost done when my mom was chewing her last piece of gyoza and bit into something metal. It looked something like zipper pull tab! When we showed it to the waitress, she apologized, took the object, and gave to the male cook. He looked at it, said nothing and went back to cooking! My mom had the check and I asked her if they discounted our meal but it didn't look like it, but I think the waitress over heard me and in the end took a couple of bucks off. Can't buy me off for a couple of bucks! Since the waitress gave the metal piece to the cook, he might be the owner. I haven't been here for a couple years but the food is still good! My go to dish is the chicken katsu curry. The curry is nice and spicy with hearty veggies and the katsu is crispy. Generous portions too! The fried rice yakisoba and gyoza are pretty good too. read more

Our third favorite Ramen spot! They are open late so it's perfect for your late night munchies. The Shoyu Ramen is pretty good, just enough flavor. The pork fried rice and gyoza are actually my favorites. I definitely need to have them to enjoy my Ezogiku experience lol. It's cheap eats guys and that always makes me happy! Overall, this hole in the wall Ramen joint was way better than Sapporo Ramen NYC, where we waited 45 mins to be seated and spent $90 (we were 4).... We came here for father's day lunch, just myself and 2 friends. Everywhere else was packed, but we were able to sit at the 'bar' here at ezogiku. I ordered a small shoyu saimin, fried rice and sampled a bit of curry from my friend's plate. The shoyu saimin was right on, not too salty and you see them cook it right in front of you. It was the perfect size to go along with the fried rice. As for the fried rice, it was moist, filling, and full of green onion, pork, egg and more. The size was perfect and the price was cheap! I tried the curry as well, it was good, nice and thick, not like watery curry-house type curry (which I'm not into). I would definitely go back once I'm in the area again. read more

This is, without a doubt, my favorite ramen location for those times when hot broth and slurpy noodles are a MUST and I'm just too damn lazy to go somewhere more difficult (most people go for fast food, I go for ramen). I love the simplicity of this location and how easy it is to get in and out efficiently. They have a great selection of ramen, served quickly and hot, just like I need it. Ordering dumplings or wantons on the side side is super cheap ($1-3) and I've never gone over $15 eating here. The portions are large and can be taken home for that wonderful slurpiness again later. Large groups can be difficult if there's no tables available, but I've never had to wait as a single gal. Plus, because of it's location, there's other locations nearby for a dessert fix!
