I've been to a couple Ezogiku locations and they have been pretty consistent when it comes to the taste of the noodles/broth and quality of the ingredients. This particular location is okay. I ended up sitting at the cooking area and didn't really care to watch what goes on in the kitchen while I'm eating. Probably the best mochiko chicken curry I had so far on the isle. They give alot of food and its pretty cheap. Small shop but the food and atmosphere makes up for it. Not tip jar by the register so you're not obligated to tip at all but this is Hawaii so nothing wrong with leaving a dollar or two. read more

I love this place and eat here often. It also helps that they are one of the few restaurants open late around here. Everything I've had on the menu is delicious, but my favorite is definitely the friend rice! I always get it with the shoyu ramen combo and a couple of gyoza. The price is decent too and the people that work here are very nice. The only thing holding me back from giving it five stars is how dirty it is in there. I love this place, it's the only place I ever go for noodles. The gyoza is awesome, fried rice is the best, mochiko chicken curry udon is my usual, but the garlic shrimp ramen is soooo good too and it's one of my new favorites. I've been going here for a few years so they usually remember me and are super nice, fast, and great overall service. I usually order to-go since the place can get a little hot inside. Have mixed feelings about this place. The food was ok. It looks better on the menu, than it does in front of you. We had to ask the girl if they were open, as some other food places in that area had their "Open" sign off, but their store sign said they were to be open. The girl had a little attitude. While we sat down to await our food in the sitting area, we overheard another customer come by to order. That "customer" walked straight into the back, and insisted she make her own drink because she likes it a certain way. We ordered the Combo B & C, and chicken katsu curry. The curry was good, a little on the thick side, but great taste. Ordered it to go and they (without needing to request) placed it separately to prevent the chicken from getting soggy. The chicken was good, but portion was slim. Combo B & C was good, but the menu was confusing. My nephew wanted gyoza, and instead the girl recommend something else or mention that it didn't come with it (as we were first-timers), she didn't say a word and my nephew was waiting on his gyoza. After a while, we looked at the pictures on the wall, and realized that it didn't come with it. Its okay. He enjoyed his ramen. They should UP their customer service. Amazing! Best Ramen house on the island. We love local hole in the wall types of places and Li and Chang just made us regulars. Got the wonton combo with gyoza and fried rice. I love frequenting this ezogiku for really good ramen that's easy on your wallet. The service is pretty good and they are fast. My order comes out in less than 10 minutes. My absolute favorite dish here is the Spicy Ramen combo, which I get every time. The broth is perfectly seasoned for my tastes. It comes loaded with lots of seafood and veggies. Absolutely delicious. :) The boyfriend usually orders Wonton ramen, and he was very pleased to find the generous amounts of wonton. Some other ramen places only give 3-5 wonton which he found to be lacking. This one, he counted 8! We are both stuffed by the end of our meal. The portions are very satisfying. For the two of us, our bill comes out to about $15 and some change. They also have a stamp card. One stamp for each ramen entree; collect 12 for a free ramen combo. read more

Wow! First time eating there and was VERY impressed. Spent $10.99 (plus tax) and got a large bowl of saimin (ramen) AND a large serving of mochiko chicken with curry over rice. PLUS, a side of gyoza! The food was AMAZING. Now all they gotta do is offer cots or sleeping mats and you'd be set for a kanak attack. I'd definitely recommend checking them out. read more

hmm, my first review. How should I start this off? I lived in Japan as a kid. & I remember my parents took my brothers and I to this litlte place called "Cheese Roll & Noodle" right outside the base. That was the first time I had ever had ramen. I'm not talking about your 25 cent packet of noodles that you get from your local supermarket. I'm talking REAL ramen. My love for noodles was born!! When we moved back to the states we couldn't never find a ramen shop. Fast foward 8 years and I'm grown, in the service and stationed here in Hawaii. I just recently moved to the island and a friend suggested a ramen shop in Aiea. She ordered the chicken veggie (which I tried and it was AWESOME) and I ordered the Shoyu ramen. With two orders of gyoza on the side, our meals were complete. I felt like the little kid sitting with her parents in a little ramen shop in Japan during the winter. I give this place 5 out of 5 gyoza! :p Why is that? 1. The food is great. The broth was delicious. 2. The service was fast. 3. We get off the plane from Seattle, drop the luggage off, then head out the door for Miso Ramen. Aloha lives here! Consistent food prep, daily deals, been here for years! When you only visit once a year, that is important. I enjoy the family atmosphere as much as I enjoy the nummy gyoza. I just love the atmosphere in Ezogiku. Its like a family. Excellent base and noodles. Another fav is the friend rice. Somehow I'm stuck on the Chuka ramen so I don't know too much about the others. Granted, the place looks very DA KINE, but a real tasty ramen shop in Japan often has a grease-pit like atmosphere to it. And this Ezogiku in Aiea definitely has the traits! In terms of this place, the taste is always consistent and the cooks and wait helps are all friendly. I like their gyoza combo and that's definitely the "bang for your buck" meal you can get! And you figure that this type of place, especially in Hawaii, would have a "hit and miss" service but like the food, service too is very consistent! I really like the ramen here. I do get tired of eating ramen sometimes and my hubby has to beg me to go but when I'm in the mood, this is where we go. I know there are lots of good ramen shops out in town and waikiki but we live on the west side so this is way more convenient. I like the shoyu ramen and hubby likes miso ramen. They are both good though. We've started doing this thing where I order a mini ramen combo and he orders a regular ramen and we just split the pork fried rice. omg the pork fried rice is so good. I don't like the red pickles that comes on the side though. It's like sweet and I don't think it goes with the fried rice. People must like it though 'cause they keep serving it. Service is really fast here. We usually sit at the counter so we can watch them prep the food. The cooks can really multitask! Definitely the place to go when you're in the mood for ramen and in the area. It's a lot better than the one just down the road in Pearl City. read more

Everytime we visit Honolulu, we eat at Ezogiku. It's a small ramen shop but the combination ramen meals are so delicious. I love that we can get chicken katsu, curry ramen, gyoza, and fried rice all for $10.95. The service and environment is so inviting. It's so enjoyable watching the cook make our dishes. read more

This is my new favorite place for mapo tofu noodles. (I would say mapo tofu udon, but they fudged my order and gave me ramen instead...the ramen was OK - I'm an udon girl). The mapo tofu is thicker and holds up a bit more in the broth. I also ordered a side of mochiko chicken. The marinade is delish, and I like that it's not overly battered. read more

Came in after spending a long time at school. My cousins went to the other ezogiku while they were here so I wanted to try it out too since I missed out because I was in class. Don't you just hate missing out on food? Lets see, I sat myself right at the front of the restaurant, but not at the stools, because there were quite a bit of patrons in there already. I was surprised I was lucky enough to get parking right outside because it was almost 7 and crowds of cars were coming in on a Friday night just to get dinner. I had a char siu ramen and chicken katsu curry.... WAY too much food. I didn't expect it until I saw someone ELSE get their "plate" of curry. They left with only half the plate done! should've took it home, such a waste...~! Okay, so I got kinda scared cause I was thinking too much and maybe its not that good??? Okay, when it came... it was definitely too much and for such a good price too~! only pushing about 8 bucks each dish! ...It wasn't spicy curry, but it was good curry. I liked it. Not too oily, and tasted nice and fresh; not as if it had been sitting in a pot somewhere for too long. The char siu ramen... well the pork was a bit too fatty, but I really enjoyed the noodles and the soup base. It definitely had flavor and I didn't put any shoyu in the soup at all. I definitely approve of that ramen. I don't need a combo~!: If you like gyoza, good~! and I do! But that's a lot of rice they give you! so watch out~ haha I'm coming back!!
