I am embarrassed to say how often we've been here since we've discovered this little gem. Quality and price wise, you can't get any better! I hate overly sauced/lets squeeze mayo on rolls to mask how things taste sushi and you definitely won't find that here. I am from Berkeley and have had amazing sushi in SF at some top restaurants. This one is second to none! The quality of the sushi is WONDERFUL. Melt in your mouth sashimi. Delish unique rolls. And in spite of the high quality this is probably the least amount I have ever spent in sushi. The staff are very attentive, decor very cool, and sushi chefs are very hip, know their sushi, and not afraid to be inventive. If I could give them 10 stars, I would! The tempura bits were old and grease laden, the fish in the spicy salmon bowl was NOT fresh and the recipe they use for their spicy items (spicy salmon, spicy tuna) is like an odd dried chili/paprika-kind of spicy. NOT TASTY. We paid $72 to throw out the majority of our dinner (neither my husband nor I finished any of the items) and I am typing this after waking up 5 hours later sick from the food. My wife and I gave this place another chance. This time we sat at the counter. We ordered yellowtail collar, the 911 roll, yellowtail sushi, and something special from the chef. The yellowtail was much better this time. The collar was good but difficult to eat with chopsticks since you're eating it off the bone. The special we ordered was sashimi salmon on a bed of tempura leaves (not sure what kind) and tempura skin. Amazing!! The 911 roll confirmed my opinion on the way they prepare their rice. On my taste it is way over cooked. Almost like a gluten brick. Completely ruins the roll. For that, I recommend you stick to everything but their rolls. Which, I'm sure, is a turn off for a lot of people. Overall this visit helped me raise my star review. The customer service was fantastic and the quality of the fish was high. 4 stars. read more

I absolutely love this place! I came here with my cousin who would rave about this place because of their happy hour which is from 3-7 and their food ranges from $3-$7. Because of this reason the food is so much more worth it. You are definitely getting a bang for your buck with this place. I ordered the Charlie Brown and Crunch Roll and it was so good. I love that the rolls are not too big and it was so cheap! My favorite roll was the Hot Rod which I highly recommend. We also got free edamame with the offer they have on here. The service was great, the workers are very friendly and they check up on you often. I love that the place is small and friendly located in a great area. Their seaweed salad is also another favorite of mine. I'm on a college students budget so to have a great roll for lunch for only $7 is such a steal. Ezze Sushi was a pleasant surprise. It definitely is a cut above most of the local sushi places. Although it hasn't been around long, it already seems to have a following. There were multiple groups waiting outside when we arrived and many who came in were welcomed as if they were regular customers. The service was timely and staff very friendly, making us feel very at home. Even though the location is small, they churn the sushi out quickly and we were seated after waiting about 15 minutes. They have a pretty big happy hour menu and an "after happy hour menu" that starts after 7 pm till close. We ordered two of the rolls that were on special for $8.95 each - the Sunset on Grand and the Charlie Brown. The sushi was $1.85 apiece, so we also got two salmon sushi and two tuna sushi. We got a couple other rolls at regular price - the Devil and Hot Night. All of the special rolls were huge - filling portions, but almost hard for me to eat in one bite. They were generous with the fish as well. My favorites of the night were the Sunset on Grand and the sushi. This roll was tasty and the fish pieces were big. The other rolls fell a little flat for me and weren't quite as yummy as I expected, but still very good. As I said, this place is head and shoulders above most around. However, it can add up quickly if you are not ordering the specials or at happy hour. You get plenty of food with the special rolls, but some need some tweaking (in my opinion). If you like to order a lot of sushi or sashimi, you can get better bang for your buck elsewhere. That being said, I'm sure we will be back! read more

Each day they have specials on different rolls which is great, plus happy hour. We went simple and just got some cut rolls but they were fresh and delicious. The only negative was their avocado, which was mushy and turning brown, kind of unappetizing. Service: My reason for -1 star is service. The sushi chefs that serve you at the bar are great, but the waitress/host was all over the place. She seated us then never came back.
