I've always loved FG Sushi. Today however, I left pretty angry. I tried calling first, it rang twice then a recording said the number was no longer taking calls. So I went in to place my to go order. I was told it would be a 30 minute wait. I sat down to wait, and I waited, and I waited, and I waited. 45 minutes go by. A table of four had come in, ordered AND got all of their food within about 20 minutes. Several people came in and picked up their to go orders and I'm still waiting. I finally got up and asked what was going on. Why did the table of four who had been there 20 minutes already have all of their food, which was quite a good bit, and my two combo boxes weren't ready yet after me ordering them 45 minutes prior. The server went back to check and I'm pretty sure that's when they actually started my order. 10 minutes later I finally got food. No one there was very apologetic for it having taken so long either. F G Sushi is pretty good. The sushi was fresh tasting for sure and the presentation was well done on the plates. My son had some teriyaki as is his preference and he liked that. The whole problem was the service. We had to struggle to get attention for ordering and for getting refills on tea. The sushi came out in a really odd order. I got my rolls, then my mom got hers, then my daughter, and by the time my wife got hers mine was eaten. If I had waited it would have been sitting there for a good 20 minutes. The only Sushi bar in town is this one and though it may look a bit cement and mortar-like on the outside, the inside is clean, a bit worn-in and contains very friendly people. The food was really good, considering I dislike raw fish and what most think of as "sushi", I found a few items I could eat. I liked the spring rolls, the orange chicken bento was awesome and even my young son liked the very lightly battered and friend vegetable tempura. The veggies were fresh, the shrimp appetizer was great (zero fishy smell...really fresh) and the rest of the meal was cooked perfectly. The waiter came to ask if we enjoyed our meal, which is nice to know they like feedback and also we liked the fact there is no real take-home menu because the menu changes depending on what is in season. No longer worth it. The prices of the rolls have increased again by $1.50-$2 a roll. This isn't posted anywhere since they don't have a website and the wait time sure as heck hasn't gone down. Told it will be ready in 30 minutes? Expect to wait 50 for your order. My husband and I love FG Sushi! We have had a variety of dishes there and it has always been really really good. The citrus dressing that they have is so fresh. When you order their Teriyaki Chicken special (to go only), it includes a little salad with this same light and wonderful dressing. When we eat in, we love the boxes because you get such a great assortment--tempura shrimp, pot stickers, teriyaki chicken, rice and California rolls are just some of the offerings in the large boxes. Most recently we tried the plum tea too. You HAVE to try this tea! It's slightly on the sweet side but the deep plum flavor is incredible. read more

This is by far my favorite lunch in town. Everything on the menu is delicious. Love the lunch specials, chicken teriyaki with rice and salad. The staff are all incredibly friendly, they remember you each time you come in or order. Great food, service and price. Highly recommend! read more

I checked this place out recently when I was cruisin through the area. At the time I was there, there was an hour wait for sushi and regular orders were close to a half hour. I ordered a beef curry that came with a small salad which was good and a small amount of rice and some fried spring rolls. The beef was not bad either, but the curry had a different flavor than I'm use to and was almost paste like in texture. The wait staff were definitely a little slow but the waitress was friendly. I would probably try this place again. They could have been having a bad day when I was there. They were very busy especially with people ordering takeouts. read more

I have been here twice with my family. We have enjoyed the food both times. The wait is long for your food, and if you come during a busy time, you may not have a seat for a while. It is kind of akward sitting in the middle of the restaurant in comfy chairs while you can see everyone enjoying their meal. The water is brought to you in a plastic jug, which was unusual but it did the trick. The soda pop is in cans, would prefer if it was from a fountain, just for taste. The waitresses are very friendly, and work hard. I look forward to coming back again. read more

While they're not making mind-blowing sushi here, the price is right, the service attentive, and the sushi hits the spot. I had a tempura-fried California roll that was pure comfort food. The cucumber salad was almost too boring (looked like I could've made it), but it was super fresh and still satisfied. On return visits, I've gotten the vegetarian combo box with shrimp tempura for under $10 and practically licked the plate. Whatever's in their house dressing is addictively good. I usually go to this restaurant for some good food but their service is just horrible. We walked in and their tables were all filthy and workers were just standing around. I ordered a chicken bento box and it came with a variety of things and they didn't have some of the stuff because they ran out and they didn't even bother to tell me. They take my order and when my food is coming out this young lady says "oh we didn't have anymore regular salad so we gave you cucumber salad." And they threw on 9 slices of cucumber on there. Later as I'm enjoying my meal that's already missing something I noticed there's no spring rolls and so I ask, "doesn't this come with spring rolls?" And I get the BS answer "we ran out of that too so we gave you extra potstickers" I've been there several times before and they always give you 3 potstickers and that's what they gave me. So disappointing. And apart from missing all those things they didn't bother to ask if they could give me something else for the stuff missing. read more

We ordered out today, much to my surprise the tempura we ordered was not the same. We've always loved this item but we're very disappointed this time. The batter was not light like usual, it was heavy and thick and we got 2 pieces of something??? Usually there are carrots but this?? was in its place and to be honest it tasted like the thick batter deep fried with nothing inside. First of all, there is no where to park. Second, the seating is super cramped. You have hit or miss service. Almost always a mix up with the food, it comes out 10+ minutes apart. The manager is so rude to his employees but nice to customers. I don't appreciate the way he treats them and bites their heads off. The sushi is great but the stuff that comes from the kitchen is just ok. The prices are a little hefty and the hours are strange. Would love to see them manage their time better so we could all eat at the same time. read more

Fantastic food! My boyfriend and I come here all the time for bento boxes and sushi--we simply cannot get enough! The sushi is fresh and delicious (and as someone else pointed out, excellent presentation as well), and the service is quick and friendly. You are greeted the second you open the door! I really enjoy FG sushi! The sushi is great, prices are OK, and they're open for dinner, unlike my favorite sushi place. Most of the dishes I've tried beat out larger sushi places such as one or two I've tried in Beaverton, which are good enough but expensive and the quality is average. FG Sushi is the Best Sushi restaurant that I have been to. They are always packed and for good reason. My 8 year old has even tried the spicy tuna rolls and liked it. Awesome Bathrooms!!!!! I so wish I could assign negative stars because my experience in there on 8/23/2014 is worthy of a -5 star rating. In a word, the customer service is TERRIBLE. The older Japanese man (owner?) rude and inept as a business man. When we went in there was at least 10 people at tables being served, however I was told they would only accept to go orders. OK, that's fine. While waiting for our turn to order, the older man singled out myself and my mother and said we could not order to go. Neither of us had ever been to the establishment so we were not sure why we were being treated this way. I explained we were advised by a waitress we could, he became rude and said they were closed, meanwhile all around us people were being served and placing to go orders. We chose to not even try to convince this man our money was just as good as everyone else's and where happy to go elsewhere, however, not without utilizing the restroom first, which in our book is 5 stars. We live in the area and it is the closest sushi restaurant in the area, but we willmin no way be spending our money locally in this establishment. We will drive elsewhere, get better food and much better service, for sure. read more
